This is the biggest part for me. Any new builds I level up and try to softcap to range or something like that? It won't bother me a bit doing it with the new set values. However for the half dozen or so builds that are "Finished" that include the sets, I have little to no desire to go back and re-IO them if need be to get the performance I want. After putting in the time and effort to grind them out and actually get to play them at the level I want, I don't look forward to going back and trying to do it again with the same build.

The thing is... as a flying blaster, you will be "On the ground" the second people look up. Everyone has a jet pack and many of the most popular builds you'll run into in zones have something with -fly.

Corrupters - Most have Leviathan mastery which has Spirit shark jaws -Fly
Brutes - Most are SS, hurl has -fly. They also have web nades, again -fly
    Stalkers - Same as corrupters
Dominators - You see a lot of mind doms which means levitate -fly, also grav and fire have it as well.
VEATs - Banes get a pile of -fly Forts and Widows can get webs as well.

Defense is crap on a blaster, ignore all that stuff.

This is a build I had around for someone looking for a cheap (no purps/pvp IO's) Zone build.

  3. My vote is, the new Ebil should be measured by how many Glad Armor 3% Res/Def's you have stashed. (Until the drop rate is fixed)
  4. Ninja Run is the best temp power ever for zones. Especially when combined with Katana or Dual Blades and Regen. It says "Yes I gave up real travel powers so I can be fite club champion"
  5. Fly is bad, yes even in zones. Unslotted (for speed) fly and SS is worse. At best you are going to get a few attack off when a target comes under you, then get left in the dust as soon as they start to move.

Lack of KB protection for when you are on the ground

.68 eps recovery means you are going to be out of end more often than not

Powerboost will fix your travel speeds for 15 seconds at a time, but other than that it is pretty useless now.

I think you are confusing stalkers with scrappers. I have never seen any stalker act this way.... ever.....

Almost as epic as the TP/Placate/Rad Snipe strategy though. Almost.
  7. **** random caltrops in the zone.

Closing to AS, wait.... no.... random caltrops 30 yards away from target in the middle of the zone dropped me out of hide

This is about how the vent conversation goes when we (usually duo stalkers) see this.

"Alright next target is the shiddy defender standing still over here. Let me know when you get here. On trops so watch out."

    "In range, TS'ing"

    "Sharking"

"Down, alright new target is bad scrapper."
  8. Set the match for no DR without telling them and spam 20 reds, proceed to DESTROY them. Call them bad and remind them as a blaster you put out TOO MUCH DAM for any regin to handle.

We are up to two now I think (Which doesn't exactly make it better considering its been over a month) Heroes managed the PbAoE one in a practice and I got a glad strike acc/dmg in another.
So yeah, 1 drop every two weeks in team settings as small as six, but as large as 16 (Internals) playing 4 - 5 days a week between practice and officials seems stupidly low.

No Stamina, however with Drain Psyche up every 36 of 30 seconds with hasten and 46 of 30 seconds for the 13 seconds hasten is down end shouldn't be a huge issue.

In can serve as a disruption toon in shutting down an emp if the other team doesn't have any way to counter it. But really the spot is probably better served going to a brute for taunt/web anymore. (In the arena)

  15. dUmb suggests that each ragequit made official (no matter the length of time) on the rosters that people end up going back on cost the team 2 points to get back into the league.

Internal ragequits that happen on a daily basis are fine though.
  16. Not quite as big, but still ouch.

Too bad I managed to only have one of the ones sold.
  17. Put it all in PvP IO's! That rate is never gonna change.... for the better at least. :P
  18. There are more than a few, I don't have the numbers offhand or access to the game right this moment (Later tonight!!!) But basically just ones with huge ambushes (So every AoE power is constantly saturated) It does require you surviving against a constant aggro cap of either LT's and Minions or all three (Including bosses) as well as a build that has some solid aoe DPS.

If I inspiration burn on my Fire Mental (They drop FAAAST so you can usually cap a few stats solo) he can pull it off (the ticket cap in as little as 4 ish minutes I think) so even someone kind of squishy can likely pull it off.

A rough estimate though if you have the farm build, and roll 9k tickets in about 30-45 minutes per night that should land you 400-700 million at the end of the week. Depending on luck. I know my tank rolled something like 2 or 3 Regen Tissue Procs and 4 Kinetic Combats Dmg/Ends which sell for about 90 mil and 80 mill respectively crafted. Those 6 drops alone are just shy of 500 million after they sell. Stuff like that adds up quick, but even then, steadfast res/defs sell for 12-20 mil, KB IO's are another 5-8 a pop. Performance Shifters, Touch of Deaths, Reactive Armors, Impervium Aroms. A lot of them sell for 10 mil a pop sometimes more for just the recipe. And with bronze rolls you really generate *a lot* of stuff to sell. Oh and Decimations.... acc/dmg's for some reason were selling for 50 mil over the double xp weekend. I think I sold a few for that, and another half dozen to the flippers at like 12-15 million for just the recipe because they move faster and slots fill up so quick.

At any rate, I'll PM you a few arcs later. Didn't mean to take away from earning the first billion. That is always hardest! But once you have the builds, you can really start to generate, even more I'm sure if you were to play the market and craft more things. Most of what I do gets tossed up for a quick sale rather than crafting and waiting on it. (With the exception being a few items that net like 30-40 mil more for crafted recipes)

I've done it 3 times over in the past three weeks to restock my funds after building several characters and buying a pile of purples for my DP blaster.

Nothing but bronze rolls on my Fire/Kin/Stone Elec/SD and SD/SS/Pyre (I now have about 3.5 - 4 Billion banked between them.) The Tank took 5 days, the fire/kin 5 and the Elec/SD 4 (its the fastest of the bunch)

Maybe next week (after I'm feeling less burned out from farming) I'll do it again for kicks just to show how fast you can really do it.

And it really doesn't take that long. 5-9 minutes for a ticket cap in the AE, so 1500 tickets for that. Usually roll in sets of 9K so that is 30-45 minutes per night, a solid hour by the time you list/sell everything. Do that once or twice a night for a week and you'll have your billion.

I'll hero stat it though, just to be safe. :P
  20. Not 50 on Live yet, but on test I had one I purp'ed out, level 34 and set IO'ed on live atm.

Mitigation and burst damage are both low. My Fire/MM with no built in defense outside of Drain Psyche is so much more survivable than my DP/Energy with aid self. (Which is scary)

Comparing it to other blasters, Its sadly at the bottom of the list for practicality, but definitely high up for style. Though it is definitely the only set that really isn't made for jump timing. Executioners shot and Dual Wield just don't look right as you are jumping around attacking at the peak.

I was hoping to just build it standard HP capped, Pile of Recharge Pile of Damage Like I did my Fire/MM and Arch/Energy but it really looks like I might need to invest into postional defense or maybe softcapped to S/L or something to solo decent sized mobs on the build.
  21. travel suppression is a state of mind dudes... always remember it doesn't own you you can rise above it this one time in BB i was tp'ing all around and twenty eight villains tried to kill me i was all "MASS PLACATE!!" and tp'ed away with no travel suppression they all qq'ed in bc because i was on my traps defender and they shouldn't have placate but i rose above that too and when they tried to kill me again i had laid liek a thousand traps everywhere and they were all "OMG Caltrops!" and "WTF acid mortar to teh face??" but then... then they found my mine fields and i got twenty seven kills in two seconds as they all got blown to pieces one guy got away though or so he thought see he was travel suppressed so i placated him again and tped in front of him and i CHARGED UP MY RAD SNIPE and each tic travel suppressed him even slower because he was so scared from just watching twenty seven of his friends die it was too much damage though and he died too i tp'ed back to my base and screamed NO SURVIVORS!!!!! and none of them could respawn because they knew my traps could be anywhere so they logged out and i went to rv....thats when things got interesting.....

    Build Up vs. Aim

While I'll agree that BU is the better choice between the two, there's no reason to not take both unless you can't fit them in. Against a really hard target you could pop both for a huge damage boost to take the target out quickly, or if you're going at a more casual pace you could just alternate the two to be riding a respectable damage bonus most of the time. This is especially fun on high-recharge builds, where there's almost no downtime when you're alternating them.
Echoing this... if you skip one or both (if avail) you are really doing yourself a large disservice when it comes to damage on a blaster.

The speed gap between a blaster who can Aim/BU but doesn't really starts to show as you pile more and more global recharge on. At around the 80 or 90% Recharge (+70 more from hasten) Its like 25 Second recharge for both of them. If you stagger them that is something close to 20 out of every 25 seconds having a very significant damage boost (between 62.5 - 100% )

And as said above, one of the reasons DP lacks damage. Take both and skip something else.
