I didn't actually title mine... Think I had a fair few words spare anyway though.
-
I've got Democracy up to level 10 and am still interested in being part of the SG, but I may be net-less soon FOR A WHILE as I'm planning to move and have been levelling other characters (Altitis? Me? No... *tries to hide seventy characters* )
-
If you still need jurors (I haven't counted how many offers are here) then I can offer a choice.
As long as it's all going to be done in the next few weeks as I may be net-less for a while next month. -
I can still think of one vet reward I'd love to see:
Fashion Emergency Teleporter (long recharge item that teleports you to Icon/the Facemaker) -
I don't know the game that well, but with Vox's assistance I should like to bagsy Blaze Fielding.
EDIT: Made her as Phoenix Meadows -
It's rare but it does happen. Me and my boyfriend tend to banter IC when playing our characters whichever server we're on, and since I'm an extreme altoholic I have characters on both Union and Defiant. You just have to look a lot, lot harder to find it on Defiant.
-
Sounds interesting.
Most of my characters and costumes are online already- the "City of Icons" link in my sig- although it's a few months since I updated it so there's more than a dozen characters not on it... -
Okay, well, bearing in mind that there are many, many better artists on these forums, here it is:
Sylvana Salvato
I seem to have drawn normal woman legs rather than CoH legs though... -
Hmmm well I'm not very good but I've had an idea for Sylvana so I'm working on it. I've just run out of natural light though (I hate drawing by electric light) so I'll have to work on it tomorrow or something.
-
Obviously she doesn't have a Union Jack top in game, but she totally would if she could. I'm making do with a red lion chest symbol for now.
I like the cheeky little expression she's got, it's just right. -
Still continuing the theme!
Lady Nemesis
EDIT- I drew this one, but Vox Doom coloured it. So it's a team effort really. -
Lol- that's almost exactly what I tried (and failed) to draw. But I can't draw men
-
I know Mongoose said he might do this one but... I was feeling inspired. Anyway, no harm in seeing two interpretations, eh?
Scirocca -
Could you possibly arrange OOC for your character to already be acquainted with a current attendee? That way, they can be dragged over and introduced.
Or, like people said, hang around doing something. It sometimes works, although you have to time it right because if it's crowded your text just gets scrolled straight off the screen and nobody notices.
I once planned to have somebody just drop from the sky, still might do it one day... -
Congratulations on being the first to go female -> male!
Nice picture, too. If I only I could figure out how to draw the male form... -
Well, continuing the theme seen in Alternate States, Ultimate Synapse and Lady Recluse
... I rushed this a bit, because I was really supposed to be spring cleaning, but I think it's turned out quite well! I probably should have used the better paper though- cheap refill pads aren't the best for markers like these.
Babs! -

A nice picture, and an interesting concept indeed...
Good lord, imagine a female Recluse!
Stephanie Richter is... Lady Recluse, Spider Queen of Arachnos. Marcie Cole, The Stateswoman...

Like Anwyeth showed?

Crikey I missed that.... I feel all unoriginal now :P -
I cam up with this after a slightly bizarre RP conversation the other day...
Alternate States
It's not great, but I thought it was kinda funny. Any constructive criticism from the experienced artists out there would be appreciated. -

Voice comms are useless in an RP environment, Londoner. Kind of immersion breaking when the cute Swedish blonde you're chatting to has the voice of a brickie from Glasgow.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really? What did ye used to do back in the PnP days?
[/ QUOTE ]
I didn't.CoH is my first RPing experience!
I'd imagine, though, that generally people didn't switch genders... It's a bit immersion breaking afterall!

When I was a little girl (about 12/13 years old) and playing PnP Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay with my brothers, several of my characters were male. My favourite was the dwarf Troll/Giant/Dragonslayer... -

I realy get annoyed at those people that type like a hundred words a second, making it hard for anyone to get a single word in or reply before they've taken over the conversation and your left standing there looking like a mute. For crying out loud people, when in a small or large groups TAKE IT IN TURNS TO REPLY!.
[/ QUOTE ]
That could be intentional... I mean, some people are like that in real life, so why not in RP?
I have to admit, though, I'm probably guilty of this sometimes. I do type very quickly, and sometimes when a character has a lot to say, rather than have a great big huge block of text appear all at once, I'll split it into two or three chunks, so that slower typists have a chance to start writing their reply while I'm still speaking. That may look like I'm not giving people a chance to reply, but that isn't my intention. -
Hmmm... I have to admit to holding high ideals when it comes to grammar and spelling. Partly because my job involves copyediting- once you train your brain to look for errors it's hard to switch it off.
Anyway, my opinion on all of this is:
There, Their and They're/Your and You're: Annoying, yes. But also one of the most common mistakes which many, many people continue to make well into adulthood. I have reached a level of despair where, as long as I can figure out which one it was supposed to be, I can ignore it.
All lower case RP: Well... on the forums, absolutely no excuse. You have plenty of time to write your entry and re-read it to check it before you post it. In game, I can understand it. Some people don't touch type, so their fingers may not be so comfortably close to the shift button, and they may be concerned with their response time. I'd rather see correct capitalisation, but it's not world-breaking if I don't.
As for the capital I... some people might use lower case "i" to refer to themselves on purpose to indicate their character's low self esteem. Other people might just find themselves typing too fast and hitting the shift button late.
Internet speak: Yes, some people do say "lol" in real life. I'm another one (although it's usually in an ironic sort of way). Of course, it depends upon the character as to whether they should say it or not. Some abbreviations also could be spoken by certain characters- I and certain of my acquaintances actually would, in certain circumstances, say "omg" "brb" or "[censored]", so it's hardly inconceivable that some characters might. You can't saythough, that's true.
As for "Ha ha ha" actually... I would disagree with you. If I saw somebody in game say "Ha ha ha" I would be inclined to interpret that as being spoken disparagingly- like Nelson Muntz in the Simpsons- rather than as an actual laugh. I would personally use /e laughs or /e giggles etc. for a genuine response.
Of course, what many of us have to remember is that while we RP, we are battling against an external force... the infamous Galaxy Girl spelling debuff effect! -
((Delayed post- this would have occurred on Friday morning))
The sun was still somewhere below the Antarctic horizon, but Glitterfrost had been unable to sleep for hours. She walked out across the ice sheets and gazed up at the night sky.
She had come out here to meet a man who shared her powers, hoping to find solutions to her problems. Although he had answered every one of her questions, it hadn't helped. In fact, she probably felt worse now. He was over seventy years old, living alone somewhere near the South Pole and refusing almost all human contact, and she wondered if that was her future. It must be so lonely.
Not that loneliness was anything new to her. Even when she was a little child, she had felt shunned even by her own parents, who shuttled her back and forth across continents so that neither would have to look after her for too long. Even The Iceman, her closest companion for ten years, had kept a clear two foot distance between them when they were off stage. And now, although she had found a community that accepted her, a group of people who didn't instinctively move away from her and even one or two people who seemed to want to get closer to her... she was constantly terrified of the pain she could cause if she slipped up, even for one moment.
Perhaps things could be different now, though. She had been offered an option for a normal life. An option that would allow her to be close to another person, for the first time in her life, but at a great cost.
She sighed. It was such a big decision, and not one she felt she could make out here. If she left straight away, she could make it to Macquarie Island in time to get a lift from the Antarctic Division's supply flight. She could be back in Paragon by Saturday night.
