There's a little in SG's, but for general RP, you need to be on Union.

For now, it seems that only rare private RP is on Defiant. There seems to be no 9pm RP like on Union.
You're better to go to Union as RPers on Defiant are scarce.
And to that I say Bah!
Trust me, while it's a frustrating prospect, moving to Union for the RP is the best decision you'll ever make while playing this game.
I used to roll with the Monkey Typists who for some [censored] reason can't use a god damned Question Mark... on Defiant. Only because it was the first server I clicked on the list on day one. Back then the Game was half of what it is today, and now you're blessed with the Server Transfer System! I never had that, I had to start from Level 1 all over again, but even that was a totally worthwhile experience. Remember, as the Honda Advert Guy says, Difficult is Worth Doing.
An MMO is a Social Experience, especially in a Game like CoH which has an abysmally repetitive Combat and Missions System and completely unimersive graphics (it gets to you after a while).
So if you're going to sink any time into this game, make sure it's on Union so you aren't just crunching numbers and deciphering really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really really, really, really, really, really, really, really, Bad English all the time.

It's rare but it does happen. Me and my boyfriend tend to banter IC when playing our characters whichever server we're on, and since I'm an extreme altoholic I have characters on both Union and Defiant. You just have to look a lot, lot harder to find it on Defiant.

I try sometimes.. my toons there are all rp friendly/ready. And the ones I met and who notice me slipping into character ones in w hile really love it.
New players dont care which server is named RP server. It was never officially made into one.
Casual rp or ic chatter in teams and/or missions is still appreaciated by new players at least.
Only the knucklehead pvp's xp loving idiots I met where telling me to move to Union for Roleplay. The rest never mind and often joined in. With some help.

That there's not much RP on Defiant I reckon is largely based on posts like this. There exists a veritable plethora of role-players on Defiant. It's just like the numbers - there's this kinda myth that Union is bigger, but the facts aren't really there to substantiate it.
I reckon it'd only take somebody to drive the process on Defiant to get a big public RP thing going. Just somebody needs to make an effort

I have characters on both English servers, and all my characters are fully RPable (some more enjoyably than others of course). I've found RP on defiant to be kind of sporadic and spontaneous. Not as organised or as easily found as on Union, but all the more shiny sometimes for being serendipitous.

I tend to chat IC when missioning (unless someone really objects (which can happen)) and usually players will play along even if they don't do it themselves, though I havent found anything broader than that.
I recently found some organised RP on Defiant.. Liz was invited to be an informant on vampires.. so I created her on defiant to do some dimension hopping.
It really is there. But it is so much harder to find.

Title speaks for itself. I play WoW on a RP server, and although I dont choose to RP all the time, I am always in character and like the option to RP when opportunity presents itself. Is there any RP on Defiant? or is it all on Union?
