My rep hasn't changed in forever. I guess I'm just too neutral for people (insert Zap Brannigan neutral quote here).

The Computer would like to point out (in a supportive, friendly manner that is surely not provocative and likely to cause unbelievers to fly into a rage) that it is superior to the television in every way. After all, what can the television do that the computer cannot? Besides, the computer likes you way more than the television ever could.

According to this page, the 7900GS did indeed have 256 MB of dedicated video RAM.
As far as having to turn your graphics settings down, keep in mind that it is at least 3 generations old now. -

Not sure if this has been mentioned and I just missed it, but you can activate all of your armour toggles while resting.

Quote:Though I don't know the average ratios of RAM speed to RAM size, the largest speedup from RAM comes from having a large amount of it available, as even the slowest RAM is going to lightyears faster than disk writing.Person B said that RAM tends to reduce itself to the speed of the slowest stick. So, if I put them all in, I'll have:
.500
.500
1.
1.
... but they'll all run at .5, which would just be a step backwards. Again, forwarding what someone else said. I'm not tech savvy myself.
Of course, I'm leaning now towards wanting to: -
Hmm... I haven't ever come across someone saying that 2 gigs is going to go faster than 3 gigs. I think it may be possible that 2 500mb sticks is slower than a single 1 Gb stick, but the other one just sounds implausible. I'm not much of a hardware guy, though.

Psssh, if you were a true fangurl, you'd already know all the answers, having been observing him through your high-powered telescope for the past three months.

Quote:Because devs hate... their own game?Speaking of ears, why on earth isn't there a "no ears" option for the full tights on the head? I was making a character and realized that if I wanted tights over his head, I'd still have his ears poking through them in all their glory. I could make them elf ears or vampire ears or goofy long imp ears but they had to be ears
... I can't say that with a straight face. -
I think the confusing thing about it is that your statement could be interpreted as a backhanded insult, insinuating that you think that the OP is a lazy good-for-nothing who spends all day browsing forums instead of earning his paycheck.

I know I would go out of my way to keep emo off of me. This reasoning seems sound to my ears.

Quote:If find this comment hilarious, because as far as I understand it, the entire reason RF2010 was created was to stir up a whole bunch of drama in RF2009 and the various associated communities (which was some very finely crafted drama, by the way).

Quote:I guess I'm just not offensive enough to know these things.Yes and no - there is no token issues for the name change, you petition with 3 choices. If you ever get generic'd there should be an email explaining how to respond sent to you.
I shall endeavor to be offensive in the future.
-
Quote:That is what happens, actually. They only keep "Generic 0193710" or whatever until they go and change it.Is there any reason why all players found in violation of the naming policy can't be given a temporary generic name and then a token for a free name change?
This seems so reasonable to me I'd assume it was already the case. But ... maybe it's not.
The same goes for generic'ed costumes. -
Quote:Similarly, just because you got generic'd doesn't mean someone filed a petition (though it is fairly likely). Please don't blame the people in your immediate vicinity when generic'ing happens without warning.Keep in mind, though, that filing a petition is NOT the same thing as someone being generic'd. One can, of course, follow the other, but just because someone spitefully files a petition on another player doesn't mean that the GM who picks up that petition is in any way obligated to take action if she/he doesn't find merit in the petition.

Quote:This is only true if you are pretending that some of the issues never happened. It has been a very long time since issues were "a couple of months" apart(presuming you mean 3-4 months).
i13 to i14: 3 and a half months
i14 to i15: 2 and a half months
i15 to i16: 2 and a half months
Just because you feel that certain issues may have been lacking does not mean you can dismiss them out of hand. -
Quote:And the devs obviously have extra content just sitting in a box somewhere that they can throw at us?For time between updates. Six and half months is too long. That's less than two updates a year. I don't really care that one of the updates is a paid expansion. The game needs new content more often than that.
I am fairly sure that releasing i17 before GR would cause a delay in the release of GR, which would be bad. -
Not only verifiable, but verified (as long as we are on the topic of pedantic corrections...)
-
Really? Because I remember everyone coming back from Herocon saying that there wasn't going to be an i17. Maybe, maybe, if the devs had a lot of time on their hands or GR was delayed beyond a certain point.
This is, of course, hearsay. Though I haven't seen anything more substantial in this thread yet, so it should fit right in.
EDIT: Also, looking at this timeline, 7-8 months is not unheard of in terms of issue release dates. -
Quote:Victoria is very snowless right now. We had the cold, but no clouds. Now we've got the clouds (and the rain) but the temperature has gone back up.Vancouver BC Canada. We had snow on the ground for a day but it's been washed away and it is very mild out there right now. Frustrating.
Rainrainrain. Bleh. -
Most likely the former, given the strictness of the naming policies.
