You'd really yell at someone who'd just lost their mother that it was their fault? Or think that wasn't a dick move? Actually, nevermind. This isn't the hill I want to die on.

    True!

And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

    That is an awesome quote.

I... if it wasn't totally unworkable, I would so love a wheelchair costume piece. But see: totally unworkable.

    that would be amazing.

    Exalted Channels

Hm, which channel is best for normal teaming? I have no fifties on Exalted yet and only two over thirty.

Not sure how worked up they are, but dang, man. That comment equating it to anti-intellectualism and 3+3=7? I'm trying to think of something to say that won't make me as judgey as them but it's not coming to me. So we shall leave it!

I like using toon, char, character, hero, villaim, and puppet. What I use tends to rely which keyboard I'm on, since one is a lot harder to type on than the other.

The fact that it's her mother.
  8. Two!

    Corpse Box because omgew

Seeker of the Unknown because it's a great hero/explorer badge.

May not of wrote Statesman like that but a sidekick like that to him might of offset the tone. I'd like to also see more missions with banter between the main heroes, maybe not in the SSA's, but ''official'' characters in funny situations that make you LOL. Or right when things are getting absolutely obscene, or seem bleak, a character just breaks out with a side fluff that makes us fall out.

    In the tutorial:

Statesman: WE MUST FIGHT THESE SHIV..
    Synapse: -Holds a spoon-
Statesman, Positron, Recluse, Ghost Widow, and the crews turn to look at him.
Synapse: '' What? I missed breakfast and they look nutritious. ''
    You... you terrify me.

well, in the most recent SSA4, apparently he tore into his granddaughter and blamed her for the death of her mother.
  10. YES to more tips. They're so much fun.
  11. where there's a will, there's a fetish
  12. I haven't particularly liked him since SSA4 where I find out what he said to Miss Liberty

And I'm not sure how I'd write him. As is, I think he's fine, I just need to remember he's *not* Superman or Captain America, he's his own character. Which means... he can be a dick.
  13. I wondered! No explanation was forthcoming except 'maybe he just really likes this stuff'.

I... I wasn't used to that on a gaming forum.
  14. I just did four same concept toon. It was 'troll girl', playing with the game mythos. One's a supa troll, one's a trollkin, and two had powers going on and mutated differently. And I chose a different set for each that fit in with the lore.

But I got quite a bit of difference with one simple concept.

That said, do what you want. There's no one who can stop you. If you wanna make the identical character for every slot that's between you and god.

A retcon made her his granddaughter when his backstory was fleshed out for CoV, Maria Jenkins was changed from Maiden Justice to Madame Danger, and Statesman was connected to Lord Recluse by making Maiden Justice Recluse's sister and Statesman's wife, and Miss Liberty their daughter.

Edit: Heh, I found an archived copy of the thread where that came to light. I was apparently the first person to notice the Tyrant/Dominatrix problem (on the forums, anyway). Check the bottom of the page, right after Manticore explains that Ms. Liberty is now Statesman's granddaughter.
I am both grateful for this extra backstory and relieved to have it confirmed it was retconned.

When I read Dominatrix's bio the first time years ago, I pasted that last bit in chat to my partner and there was this long pause, and we both went "EW!"

I am now amazingly suspicious of you.

Concept comes first for me, then I choose powers that will fit. Although sometimes there's a power I really want to try so I try to think of what would suit it. So kinda 70/30.

    New Powersets

Psychic melee! A sonic shield set for melee.

Water control set. Water blast set.

A police epic AT, because I'd love a cop progression in the game and they *do* get cool powers. From the psy ones to the ones in robot suits.

A 'magic' powerset for blasters or defenders or controllers whatever. With sparkles.
  20. Don't think he has one. I mean, Twinshot's all 'JUSTIN SINCLAIR? OH ****, SON, THAT'S MANTICORE' and I'm all 'I get to punch his mindgaming face in, right?'

    Lore question.

Have you considered a deliberately ill-done female disguise?

If you're just taking it easy and soloing while you do something else you could say "I'm taking it easy and soloing while I do something else. Still want to join?" They might.

I almost always invite anyone who asks because if nothing else it's nice to have an audience for my badass spawn shredding.
Naw, it'd be mean for me to invite someone. I spend a lot of time reading and doing stuff while I play, so there's periods where my character is just standing there for like ten minutes at a time. If I want to keep up with other people, I just send a tell to people forming teams in channels/broadcast.
