Quote:ThisLike I said earlier, KB is a 'Double-edged Sword'. If used correctly you can assist your teammates that are squishy and being over run to save both their lives and yours; when at the same time, if used incorrectly, it can result in cases of team-wipe, kicked from team, or whatever the instance may call for. I've been on both sides of the fence when KB is involved, I've been the one using KB and I've been the one kindly asking another player to please avoid using it as much as possible.
The biggest thing to remember here is that it's not KB we all 'disagree' on, it's the player that, even if asked, refuses to oblige and uses it senselessly.
The problem is that for every player that uses KB well, there are probably the best part of 100 that don't. Having seen a stormie basically "hurriherd" pretty much every mob that wasn't in the middle of a big room on a sister psyche into a corner and keep it there, it can be great. My experience just says most of the time it isn't. I just happen to mainly play toons that suffer badly from scatter. It's also no fun as a troller to have somebody scatter a tightly packed mob just as you cast the AoE immob that was going to keep them there. Oh, they're all outside the tank's taunt aura and mad at me for the ongoing DoT from the immob. -
Quote:You should have seen the PLd {self censored} FF/nrg defender that it turned out had never played other than with the friends that PLd him into the low 40s. He had a build with no ally bubbles and a nice set of repels plus the NRG KBs. We were amused when he got himself terminated 3 times with AoE KB, less amused when he caused 2 teamwipes (despite a bit of friendly advice) and then he got kicked. Its ingrained in the community unfortunately. In almost two years of playing I've never seen the mythical team wipe due to KB, even when KB powers were being aggressively used. Go figure.
Total team wipes are rare these days with fully IOd out tanks and scrappers and softcapped squishies, but if you play with squishies below the defence softcap, you do still see some "squishywipes" if not team wipes. -
Quote:So fun for you is not actually accomplishing anything, playing with your friends because everybody else boots you for messing up their game, and running back from the hospital unless you run at -1.Again, you are talking about being efficient.
I am talking about having fun.
KB = Fun.
IMO, anyone that gets upset about KB is simply not someone that is playing to laugh and have fun.
I could not care less if my AoE only hit one target because it went off after a big KB power, be it mine or another players, because I am too busy laughing at the flying bad guys.
My friends and I compete with each other to send things flying.
What I was talking about is not being super efficient, it's simple good manners on teams and not messing up other peoples' game experience. I actually physically couldn't play a melee toon on a team with you. Why ? I use tab/follow a fair bit for targeting, and my target constantly flying across the screen causing jerky motion of my toon gives me a violent headache after a few minutes. A little I can cope with so ST KB is not an issue, but constant AoE KB = quit team for me and not for reasons of efficiency.
AoE KB has got so many other toons killed in my experience, that I avoid it unless it can be used safely/constructively. This means I VERY rarely use it. If you get the dark tank killed because you took a situation he had under control and punted all the mobs he was going to heal off out of range (similar situation with ice tanks and their endurance, toggle dropping because some idiot knocked everything out of EA is not fun), that can be a teamwipe, and all because you want to have your fun, how selfish.
Watching a claws/invul scrapper use their cone KB to knock a load of mobs out of invincibilty then get terminated when they all got up and shot him when much of his defence had fallen off was another funny. -
Quote:Is that for the WII ?You could release an exercise video "Zwil's ULTIMATE FRISBEE Weight Loss Program" packaged with a free Frisbee with either the Arachnos Logo, Statesman's Star, Vigilante symbol, Rogue symbol, Resistance symbol or Loyalist symbol!
Frisbee controller and chasing across the living room trashing it trying to catch the thing conjures up a whole load of amusing images -

Quote:Not true at all, I will not play the set if the new power has massive KB. I've used dark blast in the past using the two other AoEs and omitting torrent, but it's just not going to be a functional set without picking the new power. DB is not a set you use for rewards per minute, others pump out more damage, it's a control heavy blast set, and spreading mobs out in a control heavy set is a disaster particularly given that I suspect people will choose secondaries with it that will like the mobs close together. Please add tons of KB to it, thanks.
The only dissent will be from forum posters more interested in rewards per minute than having fun. KB haters are not a majority, just a vocal minority.
Thanks for all the new changes Paragon!
I know VERY few decent players that regard AoE KB as more of a benefit than a hindrance in a general team setting (there are some niche situations where it's useful). It just tends to get people killed and frustrate people whose AoEs were aimed at 10-16 targets and only hit 3.
Solo it has its uses, but the big problem is that while making one of 3 AoEs in a set situational is not a huge problem, making one of 2 situational is. -

Amethystine, couple of months afrer launch, still level 8, invul/mace tank.
My second character was a claws/invul scrapper that got to 50 5 years later with 30+ others hitting 50 in between. I play him occasionally. -
Quote:So I have to have various toons with different levels of "incarnateness" to be able to sensibly team with my friends who still need alphas, or just not use the powers I've spent hours acquiring ? Part of the issue is that there is no incentive to run say an ITF at +3 (yes you get minimal extra cash, but that's not really important) which would sort out some of the problems we experienced. They're not really meant for the normal content - using them there is like a perk to show how powerful you are - they're designed for the Trials, which are a higher level of challenge than any of the non-Incarnate content.
Once we get the next 5 slots, the gap will be even more obvious
If you got slightly better chances of shards or drops from 53s than 50s, and in the later stages of incarnates had a difficulty slider that went up beyond +4, then maybe normal content wouldn't be something totally trivial done as fast as possible. -
As somebody who's subscribed continuously since just after launch, I'm finding I'm much more often logging in to my "other" MMO and less often into this one.
Why ?
Well I really dislike grinding the same 2 or 3 trials endlessly, and that's really all that is left for me. The game really needs a lot more endgame content so I applaud the addition of more trials. Pre incarnates, I still played lower level stuff but I've run out of new concepts to play till time manipulation hits and/or more new sets or proliferations, and also finding teams for my non 50s is proving awkward at the times I want to play (not peak).
However: there are problems caused by the incarnate system.
A load of my RL friends I played with a long while ago have resubbed to give the incarnate stuff a go. One of them has an elec dom. So what happens ? Many of his powers chain, so we rock up to a group in the WTF, he fires off his power, somebody else fires off an incarnate AoE, one chain and his effect evaporates. Next group and somebody else fires off the incarnate AoE. Kinda renders his toon no fun to play. There are issues with being able to use all the incarnate powers on normal content. -
Quote:Also check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeqhY...eature=relatedoh and as for bagpipes, id say fans of the boston area punk band "dropkick murphys" like it, and any boston celt-punk band, they tend to use bagpipes a lot.

Quote:I couldn't find a suitable link to the studio performance (which IMO is much better than the live ones up on youtube) but "Freedom knows my name" by Melanie would do.The devs need to use this as the theme song for marketing the I21 changes:

I know we're not allowed to compare to other games, so will leave it anonymous, I currently play another MMO that has effectively powerset respecs and multiple builds that can use different powersets within the ATs.
The problem ?
Why would I want more than one (or maybe two if all builds had to be the same two powersets) max level of each AT ? Kills alting stone dead and reduces the time you spend playing the game and hence NCSoft's cash take, commercial suicide. I'd certainly have moved on if I'd been able to do this and wouldn't have the 13 level 50 tanks I have now.
This is without some of the other reasons stated above. In the other game I can create a build at level 50 with which I'm a complete n00b, then inflict it on a PuG ... -
I always thought a chainsaw would be a totally appropriate weapon for a brute although the stalker port might have some issues
-
Don't know if it's been fixed, but if you were level 29 with team leader level 30 and levelled to 30, it always killed the pets as although you were 29, it treated you as SKd to 29, and losing the SK killed the pets.

Not sure what the purpose of the question is, but look at the kinetic combat dam/end. This is a 1 hero merit or 125 ? normal merit drop, so you can get 2 for the price of a LotG, the triple sells for similar money but is a 2 HM/200+ merit drop.

Been playing since a couple of months after launch, have had my full set for a long time, I never really enjoyed MMs and that was my last one when demon summoning came out (a team of 5 demon MMs and 3 VEATs destroys stuff in ridiculous fashion, +3 renault with characters the right level no problem).
I currently have 63 50s, 13 of them tanks out of my 190 characters across all servers, but have now played pretty much all the combinations I want to play till there's more proliferation or new sets. -
My worst - extra zero on a stack of 10 400K salvage items.
I have fallen foul of a bug that would have cost me far more had I not got the cash back from support. Basically before the inf cap checking, you tried to list an IO for say 300M. Everything went through normally, but you found you'd actually listed a stack of common salvage for 300M each. -
Quote:Didn't we see exactly that in one of the broadcasts, although I doubt we'll see it again after Tunnel rat did something to him/it that demanded its surgical removal ...

Quote:I believe it has the upside that their attack speed can't be debuffed either. It was also an issue with mastermind pets. If you added too much recharge, you'd have your Thugs Bruiser spamming nothing but Hand Clap all day.
It wouldn't have any effect on Fire Imps, since they only have one attack, but they were affected by the change just to keep it fair. Wouldn't be fair at all to let Fire/Kin controllers buff the speed of their pets' attacks, but not anyone else. -

I didn't have this, but had a different bizarre lag issue on Freedom after the surge.
Moving around town, no problems, doing missions, no problems, enter the reactor building at the end of the WTF, 700 ping, packet loss everywhere for the whole time i was in there. Finish the trial, come out, all back to normal. -
Quote:It also only shows servers with spaces, so fill a few with level 1s, my list only had the 4 ex euro servers on it as I'd filled all the US onesOur apologies for the confusion, you cannot save them for later at this point but there is a work around to be able to see the missing servers. You can sort the list alphabetically in order to access a more comprehensive list.

Hmm, Man U-Barcelona on the telly or footie on the radio and this ...
Suspect it may not be as well attended as it might have been.
