Quote:I wouldn't dare, your tastes seems great!
But please don't bother telling me my music choices suck. I get that enough from anyone who ends up riding in my car!
Quote:Sigur Ros, Album Leaf, Balmorhea, Explosions in the Sky, Modest Mouse, Bon Iver, Volcano Choir, Cee-Lo (half of Gnarls Barkley), Beck, She & Him, Broken Social Scene, Eminem (have you heard of him? ), My Sick Uncle (dunno if you can find this - It's a guy who mashed together the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack with some Little Wayne songs; it is superb), Sufjan Stevens, The Avett Brothers, Alexi Murdoch, Athlete, Ben Folds, Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service, Flight of the Conchords, Jenny lewis/Rilo Kiley, Jimmy Eat World (older stuff - Clarity in particular), Josh Ritter, Karen O (the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack is phenomenol), Jonsi (Sigur Ros singer solo), Kirby Krackle (songs about video games, comics and nerdity in general), Olafur Arnalds, Pete Yorn (his duet CD with Scarlett Johansson is quite enjoyable), Regina Spektor, Radiohead, Ugly Casanova, Vampire Weekend (really just Contra), and finally Wilco. -
As a fan of the book, the movie (this American loved the pacing of it) and Chloe Moretz, I'm pretty excited to see where they go with this.

While there are "late game" TFs and raids, "endgame" in City of.... is pretty much rolling another alt. We currently don't have a true endgame system where players go to get teh phat lootz. Whether or not the upcoming "endgame system" Incarnates is going to be like other games "endgames" is yet to be seen.
Long story short, any combination is and will be viable in Coh/v. Play what you think is fun. I personally have both a 50 earth/rad and earth/TA. Earth/Rad is an all around swiss army knife type toon: it can do a little bit of everything. Earth/TA is a lockdown and debuff expert. I also have a 32 earth/earth dom: it's just fun.
Welcome to the game, enjoy your stay. Don't worry about the endgame here; it's more about the journey than the destination. -

He should have called it Oprah.

I love my fire/kin......no denying. But I really love my fire/storm/earth. Herdicane several spawns...find corner....toggle off cane ....FF+cage+FR+jump+lightning storm+fissure+thunderclap (if needed for bosses)+fissure til clean.

Saw it as well, I enjoyed it; it has potential. Plus Chiklis and Benz have enough goodwill built up that I will give the show plenty of time.

And when is he going to call someone a $%@#?

I did a quick read up on aboriginal mythology it seems like a lot of it has to do with spirits/gods taking the form of mountains and rocks; maybe an earth troller would work? Or an earth/earth dom?

Quote:Heat mastery will be available to you at lvl 41. It is an ancillary power pool, not a patron pool. So you won't need to switch alignments to get it.So in other words, when I hit 41, I gotta start working on my tip mishes and when I become fully villian, then I can unlock the "Heat mastery"?
Here's another question: If I choose to remain a hero, what options will I have when I hit 41? What kind of epic powers? -

Quote:Yeah, I heard the University frowned on the whole "body paint advertisement" while lecturing.Lycanus, I say plug away! The worst that can happen is that it will be "disappeared." But I think if we can run threads here that are appropriate to the section (which this is) and which can help our CoH brethren, more power to 'em. And if I can help with the plugging, let me know.
P.S. I have no agent, unfortunately, and probably 90% of the "advertising" I get is what I myself create by being a ubiquitous and probably quite annoying figure on the internet. -

Careful, now, hurricane is repel and the - knockback won't stop you from moving the immob'd enemies away from you. So your purposed strategy will work counter to what you want there. While they won't fly back they will push away from you in the middle. Hurricane and cages is better if you have a dead end with a physical barrier to stop as you push the enemies away. Where cages + hurricane is nice out in the open staying on the outside and pushing those on the perimeter into your debuff patches. But don't let that discourage you as earth/storm is mighty awesome, just adjust your strategy.

My initial gut reaction to the question was "something with an aoe immob" to keep the enemies from running from RoF and keep everything tightly packed. Double rad is always nice, but I wouldn't count out cold, thermal, or sonic either. All have a nice combo of buffs and debuffs.
My recommendations-
Earth, Fire, Elec or Plant with
cold, thermal, or sonic.
Truth be told any controller would be able to work with your wife's toon. -
I'm in!
I can offer you many different options based on needs. Bubbles, rad, dark, kin, sonic, thermal, cold, blasties, scrappies, brute, and tank. -
I think that's a fair critique of the series as a whole, Foamy. But the acting, and shock value of some of the plot (I'll keep spoilers out of here) points and the quality of the writing was taking the show to a whole other level than the other seasons.
It will be nice to see if they refocus this seasons plot (and Dexter the character) after last years finale as it would hopefully push him places he's not be before. Which should make for some wonderful TV. I'm also curious how the seasons guest stars (Julia Stiles, Johnny Lee Miller and Peter Weller) will play into everything. That's some pretty good talent for Mr. Hall to work off. -
If you go Patron Power Pools, they all have a pet as their 4th tier. Leviathan Mastery even has water spout. So Ill/Storm/Levithan would be the original blueside mastermind.
3 PA, spooky, Phanty (and decoy friend), tornado, Lightning storm, water spout, coralax. Ooooooo I want one now.
Electric is two btw.
Edited for correction. -
Quote:I honestly didn't think Dexter could have topped season 3 and Smits' character. Then the first episode of season 4 aired. Oh my. Lithgow at his grandest. The first scene of the season alone is so cringe worthy (you'll know what I'm talking about when you see it). As much as I love Lost and it's final season (yeah, I said it...so what), Season 4 of Dexter is darned near a masterpiece and was the best thing on TV last year.
Regarding the awards, I thought they were OK. A few good humor pieces. I do feel compelled to watch Modern Family when it hits syndication now. And I really need to pick up Dexter Season Four and get caught up (Lea and I wait until the new DVDs come out and watch a whole season in pretty much one sitting, or more accurately one session of lying in bed; we're like a serial killer-loving version of John and Yoko).
Big thumbs up for Modern Family too. And I agree with Marcian that it and Community are the two best comedies on TV right now. Troy and Abeds segments at the end of the episode are funnier than most things on TV let alone the other 20 minutes of the show. -

No, the original show had very little political bend to it. And if there was, it was an equal opportunity offender. Yes, it's a critical darling and a ratings success with Stewart. I won't deny it. I even enjoyed his first few years (still not as much as Kilborn) but later it just got too preachy and started taking itself too seriously for my tastes. As I said, its probably just a generational thing.
