  1. No, I don't particularly think it's a good idea.

"Boss farms" may contain "ungodly XP," but it's a mission full of bosses, not "stuff that can't fight back." The issue with the devs when it comes to farming is not *farming,* but *exploits.* Bosses do give risk and take some time to kill - if I took most of my characters into a boss farm, I'd probably have a faster time levelling doing regular missions.

Having a custom group require every rank would, in fact, screw up several arcs. Legitimate arcs, yes.

There's also the fact that some folks are going to make boss farms, not for "ungodly XP" (what good is XP to a 50?) but for the sheer challenge. Characters that can slice through minions without even considering breaking a sweat. Force them to have to have lower ranks in their challenge missions, and there's not much reason for them to play with the AE as opposed to running newspaper missions (where they'd at least be getting a shot at purple drops, for instance.)

I think this is a solution in search of a problem, quite honestly.
  2. While I'm not unsympathetic, I have to point out - it's a US based game, on US based servers, being maintained by us 'merkins on US schedules. Quite likely with consideration of overtime if they have to drag people in earlier.

As fun as our Au/NZ compatriots are - when they're making determinations on maintenance needs vs traffic, you're just not making a big enough impact on server traffic or load. When it comes to the overall equation of game needs, server needs, and disrupting the fewest folks possible (both in terms of players and datacenter employees, admins, and the like - not to mention "minimizing how much overtime we have to pay") - it comes around to bite you folks in the butt.

If there were minimal impact, I'd be fine with them moving it. But as mentioned, they're also trying to get the servers as ready as possible for "peak time" - the weekend, US schedule. I can't imagine they haven't had this discussion already when they came up *with* these times.
  3. If I recalled the IPs for the various datacenters, you could do a traceroute and see where, along the line, it slows down. IIRC at one point I was directed to use... believe it was called Pingplotter.

    Incarnates

The last mention of Incarnates, officially, was during an interview when they were talking about getting Nictus ready for the redside EAT.

    We got VEATs instead.

No word since on Incarnates, though as mentioned there's a lot of clues and hints about the "lost origin" and such in the Cimerora-related arcs.

... then again, there were hints about Avilians, and those are dead.
  5. yeah... fun while it lasted.

    *Boomboomboomboomboom*

... Glad I got to fool around with it on my Grav controller for a little while
  6. And happy B'day!

    Purple Sets

Just play missions. (Not AE.) Missions, task forces, etc. Anything where you're fighting level 47+ enemies. They have a chance of dropping. I've had three drop in two missions, and have had weeks of not seeing any.

For non-purples, you *can* play AE missions, earn tickets and try some of the rolls. Some of the good stuff (KB protection, for instance) is down in Bronze, so it's not all gold to worry about. Regular arcs will give merits as well.

In short, there are plenty of ways other than "a ton of INF" to get the IOs you want.

You should try the screenshots section of the forum.

Not sure if you have been there recently, but it no longer seems to be the place for screen shots and such, it is more just a hand out place.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ... excuse me?

Screenshots and fan art, with people talking about and showing off fanart and occasionally offering it is a "hand out place" how again?

And yes, I *have* been there recently. As in minutes ago.
  9. "Sheepboys" doesn't have quite the same ring to it.
  10. I'll take the fireworks, but not the riots, involved And happy b-day back to ya!
  11. Nice.

And much better looking than three of these.
  12. I'm not playing a scrapper. On my last level (49) on a Widow (which will probably gather dust afterward,) and working on a grav/kin right now.

    Pic for forum

    I know there's a guide to it.

    Step 1: Get an image.

Only a few types are supported (GIF, JPG, and PNG image files.) They must also be no larger than 80 pixels by 80 pixels. If they are larger, you can use an image manipulation program to crop or shrink them. (Photoshop, the GIMP, etc.)

    Step 2. Get a host.

If your ISP gives you web space, great.

if not, some place like Imageshack or Photobucket will work. The account is free.

Upload the image. They will usually give you a direct link to the image file when you're done. Copy that link.

    Step 3. Edit your profile.

    Go to "My home."
Find "Personal information" at the bottom. Hit "Edit."
Enter your password, then scroll down.
    Select "URL to your avatar."
Paste in the URL. It should start with http:\\ - if there's any other tags or such in front (like <img, <source = or the like) you copied too much or the wrong thing.

    Save, test.

Upload a small 80x80 pic to a site such as Photobucket.

Go to "My home." At the bottom of the page, edit personal information.

Scroll down, select "URL to your avatar."

Give it the URL of the image. Put in your password for the site, as well, or it won't accept it.)

You can't pay for servers on promises.
You can't pay a company's various bills on promises.
You can't pay employees on promises.
Those employees can't buy food for their families on promises. Or pay their rent/house payments/insurance/etc. on promises.

COX is a luxury item - and a cheap one at that. If you can't fit it into your budget, it doesn't hurt anything not to have it for a month, or three, or what have you. And you can, of course, pay ahead if you do have the money (and do so at a discount.)

Just an FYI: You can always make a back-up DVD on your own using... Bill's guide (which Bill, I can't recall... the one that went to Tennessee.... possibly like that song )

  17. Oh, no, not text errors. I'm sure there have never been any noticed in the history of the game.

So /bug it and move on.

Talk to Wincott, dont accept his missions.

    Turn round and leave.,

    Hollows are not mandatory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dosen't work for me because as soon as I go back to the contact, they say to talk to Wincott, I'm not one for all-paper leveling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Stupid question - you're actually:

    (a) talking to Wincott, as in seeing his dialog box, and
    (b) clicking one of the options at the bottom to say "not right now, thanks," not just closing the dialog box?

Since it sounds, frankly, like you're not actually making a choice there or it's just not registering. It's not like the PVP contacts.
