Yeah, they've got a fair variety in tone. After all, a Strat and a Telecaster don't sound exactly alike (much less a Jaguar, and that's without getting into special editions,) and Precision and Jazz bases do have a bit of a different feel. Then yo get into the amps....

Quote:So, take the OP's idea (which I agree is *very* bad) and use it to encourage running of content instead. Any non-Ouro arc that you finish (of your own,) you get one. Task forces, two the first time. (Perhaps limit to those that award a badge, so badge = two PP.) Grand total of five for reaching 50.Except that method encourages doing the challenging content, and doesn't lend itself to repetitiveness as you cannot get points from the same quest more than once, and there are i'm assuming lots of quests to get points from.
Rewarding people for reaching 50 will encourage powerleveling, the worst form of content in the game.
Doesn't sound like much... until you start running a good bit of content.
Of course, there's a question of what to do with content finished in teams - though it'd also encourage people to run the same arcs together. -
Well, I'll preface this by saying (a) I came from playing a blaster, before defiance 1.0, much less 2.0, and (b) I play a lot of squishies. So mez... I'm used to planning around and working toward preventing it.
A biform (human/dwarf) build is one way of doing it, yes. Try to fit some recharge in the attacks.
Personally... I tend to go with stealth. Now, in a multi-mezzer group this doesn't always work, but it *does* let me get that first strike in a good part of the time (with my own mez/damage, aka Incandescent Strike) and/or take down the void - and despite what some want to say about knockback, Radiant (and the good old fashioned stomp) works nicely as a ghetto anti-mez, too. They can't mez you if they're ragdoll-sliding down a ramp, after all (you'd be surprised at how much time even a small ramp or angled section of floor, like an arachnos base has, can give you,) but you *can* beat on them. -
Quote:So.... issue 23?You're welcome.
It's not like kheldians have never gotten any attention, you know. There are a few small changes coming in 20.5, but go look at the patch notes for Issue 13. Then for added perspective take a gander at the laundry list of handicaps they launched with in Issue 3. -
Quote:Looking at your forum signup date and your comments - when was the last time you ran it? I mean, when I started, we had insta-spawning level 16s just as you turn east (or whatnot) - like on the way to Flux.I know you want players to play through The Hollows story arc, but I tried it once - not knowing that I didn't have to run it - and found it to be a total nightmare. The worst was trying to run between all those large groups of trolls in order to get to the mission door, often on the FAR side of the zone, only to often get killed and have to go back to the hospital in the middle of AP and come back and do it all over again. (Yes, the new mobile hospital in the zone now makes that obsolete, but it is still a chore to do.)
It's been tweaked and is (generally) much nicer now. Everything's in fairly level-appropriate areas - no running way out to a hill somewhere to fight outcasts.
(That said, the mission is droppable - or you can see him early, say hi and never go back.) -
Quote:Oh, it'll get looked at.It's a safe bet that PvP will never get looked at again. The game is likely to be shut down first.
Then someone will go "Huh. That's still there? Who knew?"
(Admittedly there's the occasional redname getting ganged up on in the zones, possibly in arena, but that's about it.) -
Quote:I wouldn't read anything into that wording other than "No" as a direct answer to the stated question.Don't go getting people's hopes up unnecessarily. But yes, I noticed the way that was worded, too.
And I highly doubt we'll see any "In" or "Shortly after," either. The rework PVP would need is big enough - "strike teams" aside - that it'd have to be a major issue feature, and I'd think they have enough on their plate with 21 (and the immediate aftereffects.) -

Quote:... see, you should really avoid using things like "always" and "never," as someone (like me) who does actually throw them in on occasion will speak up.
Well this is a general indictment against the pool power. If nobody is using the attacks at all then the whole thing should be revamped. -
Yeah. You're doing something, or a lot of things, very wrong if you're having THAT much of a problem.
If you're trying to play like a scrapper or a tank - you're not.
If you're trying to play like a blaster, you're not taking advantage of everything.
If you're trying to play like a controller, what the heck, man?
If you're trying to play like a Mastermind, well, now you're just being silly.
Serious side, though - post the build. If you don't want to try to recreate it, grab glycerine from COHTitan, load, go to utilities and have it export the build.
Difficulty-wise, Peacebringers are a mirror of Warshades - Warshades like lots of enemies (X#,) Peacebringers will handle fewer, tougher enemies (+#). And Voids/Quantums just shouldn't be an issue, really.
I don't agree with "You have to use Light Form as often as it's up!" - no, you don't. Running pre-IOs with truly nasty Voids, I didn't need to. Should be even easier now. And if you like the character enough to sink inf into it, I'm sure an IO build to make things even easier could be whipped up - I tend not to mess with them much. (Only things I'll tend to try to fit in are a Winter's Gift on a build with Dwarf and a KB IO. You've got Incandescence at level 1, after all.) -
Quote:/this.Considering the abuse of trial accounts by RMT companies before the trial restrictions were put in place, it was wise of them to put these limitations in place.
I actually logged onto a character who i hadn't spent much time playing or, for that matter checked email on in... a while. (I'm used to it just having the "stuff" I'm holding/transferring at this point.)
It had 66 emails.
5 of them were things I was transferring... the rest, spam from back then.
Yeah. Don't miss those days at all. -
Quote:*takes opportunity to point to link to guides in sig*As it stands, being an Empathy defender, what are you focusing on? Are you taking every heal you can and limiting yourself on attacks? One of the best things about this is you can do a dual build (talk to any trainer) and you can have a solo build where you can focus on attacks, and a team build, where you can focus on heals.
Have one there that'll go over dual builds.
Also - level 12 - you can finally start using DOs. Dump your salvage at the auction house, use the proceeds to get DOs, stop using TOs. -
Quote:Given where the kick lands, on occasion... I've used it to finish off the last HP or two dueling a friend. "Yeah. I fight dirty." *kick* *dead*(Well, I would use Kick on occasion, just so I could yell 'This is Sparta!!!' while doing so, but there's only so much mileage in that.)
Rare the opportunity comes up, though. -
Quote:While I've a character or two I'll do the same on - one of whom was created by the COT and has vowed to make them pay for it - I can't really say they're "gruesome," other than their most recent incarnation. The Circle of Thorns has a gruesome backstory (kidnap and murder of children) and makes no secret of its servitude to Hell. They easily rank Number One on my list of groups to eliminate. (I will stop and throw an AoE on any green bonfire as I pass, even on my level 50s.)
If anything, they get some degree of sympathy for what turned them this way. Several of my heroes (and likely a villain or two) would be more than happy to help them *find* a way to break the contract that made them what they are and return them to their bodies - though (heroside) they'd still have to face what they'd done to the people who had discovered them.
Just remember, they are what they are now because *they showed mercy.* -
What's going to make up my mind is, "Which of these expectations do the F2P players meet?"
1. As some want to say, "Excited about the game." Actually trying to be part of the community, etc. Which would, of course, be wonderful... and much like just plain old "new players" now. Or,
2. "I can be a jerk because I have zero investment in the game." Which, unfortunately, *is* what I've come away with in other games. Getting away from *that* isn't "elitist."
I'll be making characters on the new server, yes. Not least because I'm an altaholic. Even if I wanted to, though, I couldn't move "all" - or even "most" or "a fair percentage" of my characters to it. The question is not "Are you moving," but "Where, three months in, will you be spending most of your time?" -

I threw something together.... eh, must be at least a year ago now.
Only way I can think of "Fixing" part of what's wrong with it is to break how it grants powers. I think it's vastly unfair that, if I want an AOE taunt, I can get to it right away (for all intents and purposes,) but if I want the AOE fear, I *have* to take a taunt and waste a power pick. The fear's not that powerful or accurate without dumping slots into it... and you're already dumping an extra power pick into it (seriously. My Dark/Therm corruptor took this for concept on a solo build... so she has a taunt.)
Either:
(Fix A)
- Rearrange powers so that you can get Fear/Fear and Taunt/Taunt
- Add a 5th pool to the power, or
(Fix B)
- Massive rework to the powers so they accept both Fear and Taunt enhancements (possibly "exclusively," if it's technically possible)
- Replace one power (ranged, single target) with... something. -

Quote:<Spoiler>I'm kind of curious where they plan on cutting the movie off at..
I don't know much about The Hobbit, outside of what I remember from that animated movie, that I haven't seen in years..
It's unlikely that anyone will be singing "Where there's a whip, there's a way" in this version.

As fitting as that is for some of my demon MMs.... -

Quote:Read it, they're talking about each attack building momentum, etc. It's a new set.i might be wrong on this but i don't think this is a new powerset, they're just adding more two handed weapons into the game.

Quote:By "slow power," are you looking at ID or something like, oh, Snowstorm?I got a few questions about the option players will have to decline the movement speed increase from buffs cast on them by other players.
If someome who has themself set to decline movement buffs has a movement buff applied to them, then gets hit with a slow power, will the speed buff still cancel out the slow, or will the slow affect the player as though they didn't have a movement buff?
