Another QOL idea while playing my lvl 5 last night...
Is that mission not compatible with the autocomplete?

I know you want players to play through The Hollows story arc, but I tried it once - not knowing that I didn't have to run it - and found it to be a total nightmare. The worst was trying to run between all those large groups of trolls in order to get to the mission door, often on the FAR side of the zone, only to often get killed and have to go back to the hospital in the middle of AP and come back and do it all over again. (Yes, the new mobile hospital in the zone now makes that obsolete, but it is still a chore to do.)

It's been tweaked and is (generally) much nicer now. Everything's in fairly level-appropriate areas - no running way out to a hill somewhere to fight outcasts.
(That said, the mission is droppable - or you can see him early, say hi and never go back.)
...could we please get rid of the "You're level 5 and you must go to The Hollows and speak to Lt. Wincott. Oh, and then you have to trudge all the way back across Atlas Park and then zone into here and come speak to me because I still don't trust you with my cell number." drudgery???

I quickly learned to go to the Hollows the instant I turned level 5. I talk to Wincott, then leave and report to my contact who would have sent me to talk to Wincott had I not beaten him/or her to the punch and who now has no choice but to give me a more advancing mission.
But, I am confused...when I do choose to run the missions, I have had no problems at all getting to them. I did have major headaches before they revamped the Hollows, but now...nope. Is there a bad mission location still in their rotation?

I street hunt to 6 and then go to KR. Seems to have resolved the issue completely for me.
Be well, people of CoH.
Okay, my two main problems that still happen with him are:
1) You still need to run across two zones (usually from/to Kings Row) instead of being able to call your contact.
2) You still end up doing a bunch of mishs, then your contact tells you "I've got a super secret mission for you, but I can't give it to you until you're level 5. Come back and see me when you are." You streetsweep to get to 5, level up and go back to see them and they send you off to Wincott. Then when you get back to them, they give you to another contact.
I guess my main question is why can't Wincott be part of the contact tree offered? Is there any other reason then forcing us into a zone that, even if revamped, is of no interest to some players? I for one do not like that sort of railroading. (In my books it's only slightly more annoying than having a contact in one zone - say, Kings Row - who sends you on missions in another zone - say, Steel Canyon.)

I'm hoping I21 and onwards see's a total house-clean of all the old contacts Blueside.
Because all of them, bar Hollows->Faultline->Talos these days, are TERRIBLE. The missions are terrible. The contacts are terrible, two dimensional and badly written, the run-about is terrible, the plot is non-existent.
This junk is even years old and, by frag, does it show!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

It has been a long time since I ran any contacts in Talos but the Hollows and Faultline are wonderful stories.
Frowstfire is a boat load of fun and when was the last tuime you ran Atta. Big caves with lots of Trolls and a vending machine when you get close to the end.
While I would agree that Fusionette is annoying just ignore her and carry on. Nocturn and Karse are greatr AVs plus you have Doc Dalialah and Penny later on.
No, no cleaning those out please.
Enjoy your day please.
The thing is, I choose to do the Faultline arcs - which I love - but am not forced to go to that zone in order to continue with other mishs from my current contact.
BTW, I lost count of how many times I bugged the invisible ice slide in the Frostfire mish before it was finally fixed.

Far as I can tell, the solution is simple enough;
"Go see X" missions should be replaced with a "You have been contacted by X" windows and contact auto-assignment we've seen with Castanella, AE tour guide and so on.
Force the missions given by a contact to spawn in the zone the contact is in, unless the story demands differently.
Delete duplicate contacts, spreading the survivors evenly between their respective zones {Steel/Skyway, Indy/Talos, etc.}
There. No more runarounds, and no shortage of content forcing even more people into repeatable missions.
When I first started playing the Hollows could be a nightmare,no travel powers unlike now with beast run ninja run combine them with sprint and you are fast enough to out run any trouble,my worst run across the Hollow,s before the changes was 6 deaths until I reached the mission door.At least we learnt about aggro range,now as far as Faultline is concerned if you didn,t have fly or super jump you had big problems deep ravines full of CoT god what a place but I preferred both as they were before.I do feel that all the running around was put in to help people get the feel of all aspects of the game,true after 5 years even I sometimes think why do I have to keep going back and forwards for this or that contact ,but it is still handy for the new players who have never play this game.

Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.
"bar", in this context, means "except for". It's a slightly fancy usage (says the English major).
