Actually, that was the whole point. I knew you were kidding, hence the ROFL-smiley.

It looks like it's my post that went over your head.

His point was that there is always a chance of serverside lag that we have no control over. Graphically, my computer runs just fine during raids, but things like power-delay or the occasional rubberbanding will always be unavoidable. When somebody says they are lagging, it's hard to know which type they are referring to unless they are more specific.

But your point is valid too... Usually people upgrade their preferences when they upgrade hardware, which will cause more strain during such events. To compare the true performance boost from upgrading, you'd have to run the raid using the old options, and see which symptoms cleared up and which didn't.

Either way, the OP would be likely to upgrade their options when they upgrade their hardware as well.. which brings us right back to Ironblade's post anyway.

Copying an existing build wouldn't be fair to most people because they wouldn't get as much out of it as the "rich" people do. What if the wrong build is copied over? What if somebody simply hasn't had a chance to upgrade one toon or another? It wouldn't be balanced! haha

It's a choice to use the 3rd build or not. Nobody is forcing anybody to spend billions on another build.

    ....
In my experience, you cannot gain any new contacts or start any new arcs in Praetoria after lvl 20, but you can continue and finish any open arcs you still have. I've had toons continue open arcs up to lvl 24 or 25 I think.

If you had somehow talked to "Mother" before you reached lvl 21, you might have been able to accept her mission and finish the arc after you leveled up. It looks like you may be out of luck this time though. If you want to run a specific mission, you'll have to find somebody else that has it to tag along with.

The reason they are "Inactive" is because you don't have access to Villain contacts as a Hero/Vigilante.. but it doesn't mean the arc itself isn't still active and counting toward your total. It sounds like you might have to temporarily switch back to "clean up some unfinished business", so you can move forward on the other side again.

I completely agree, and never meant to make it my position that I condone such actions.. only that such actions were possible. Now that I think of it, I should probably revise my original post above to provide as little information as possible about it, just to be on the safe side.

I think that would be perfect. I'm not saying they should attempt to run a code to break Hero/Villain coalitions though. It might be easier just to allow it for everybody. In today's game, I don't see much of a reason why groups have to be on separate sides anyway. There are already mechanics in place to keep people out of zones they are not supposed to be in anyway. From an RP perspective, I can kinda understand the separation, but from a different RP perspective, there shouldn't be anything wrong with having a "grey" group either.

Well that's a topic for another day anyway.

I'm not sure I sensed any "attitude" in your posts. FWIW, I read through your link, and I saw a lot of myself in there too. I understand and respect where you are coming from and agree with you most of the time on various topics. I think this was just a misunderstanding of what my position actually was, and I'm sorry it lead to CaptainMoodswing making such a comment. I've never had anything against you, and I don't understand why anybody else would either.

Not really. Some could even be made as recently as i18. I reported it, and I'm fairly certain it no longer works. I could be wrong though. I have not tested it again recently to confirm.

Technically, a Vigilante can get Villain mission badges simply by joining an actual Villain running the mission anyway, so the only "cheat" is doing it through Ouro instead of waiting for mission availability. I guess it's debatable how serious of a cheat you want to consider that.

As for my personal experience with it.. I know about it only from "what if" testing on a random toon. I do a lot of testing of strange scenarios, and usually report what I find out (even though I've written off Bug Hunter long ago). My badge toons got them all by actually switching sides. I'd never risk my integrity or my good characters by doing something as ridiculous and lazy as exploiting something that would only take an extra day or two at most to achieve. I didn't even partake in the exploit to get the "7 day" Alignment badges when that was available, even though I know more than a handful of people who did.

Either way.. I'll still agree with you that it's not available to a majority of players, but to say it's not possible is just plain wrong. We don't know if that's really what their friend did or not anyway, so it's just a wild assumption either way.

It shouldn't matter which side you are on. You can actually run the arc twice.. once from each side..

They can if you have a Hero/Villain Coalition...

I'll agree with you that it's not intended behavior, but it is within the realm of possibility.

Costume files are saved in a generic Costumes folder in the CoH directory. They are not in the account sub-folders or linked to an account in any way.

Basically, all that's needed is to save them from her toon, and relog onto the other account to load them onto a new toon. You don't even really need to know where the files are stored, let alone have to copy them anywhere.

The problem here being the OP said they were down to 1 account, so i assume her account is not active anymore, so copying the costumes might not even be an option at this point unless they resub again, wait 90 days for a "invite a friend back" code, or until there is another free activation weekend.

On a side note, account sharing is technically against the rules anyway, but I wont tell anybody.

DOH! I got caught up in a handful of RWZ raids going on and time slipped right by. I hope the TF is going well. Sorry I missed them
  16. Send a /petition from one of your other characters to see if a GM can free the "stuck" toon.

If you attempt to click a second bomb, it tells you the timer is 30 minutes. If you wait until 30 minutes after your team planted, you can plant another one.

As for the bombs on the ship respawning again.. I've never noticed that happening unless it was a new raid.
  19. For what it's worth, that badge is awarded after the 5th mission, a full mission before the end of the arc. Are you sure it's not in your "Most Recent" badge list?

On a side note, some people noted there were issues earning some of the new badges unless they were the team leader. I'm not sure if that's still true or not. Apparently it is.

Actually, I just didn't notice your thread.

Strange things can happen when you combine 2 separate ways of zoning. You can end up in the wrong spot if you use the Transport powers while at a Train/Ferry also, but it depends on the /loc of your destination, and where that /loc is on the map you are zoning to.

In your case, your mission door's /loc is outside of where your base is located, causing you to fall to the "bottom" of the map, which is -2000 ft.

When a shard-dropping critter dies, every level 50 that had a hand in its death gets a roll for a shard.
As mentioned, I was solo the whole time, and there was no heavy in the area yet. I did not attack any bombs either. I zoned when people were already fighting. I don't see how there is any chance I got credit for an EB kill that I never touched, considering there was none in sight.

I'm not saying you are wrong about the intended mechanic, just that I tried to test it as cleanly as possible and didn't come up with those results.

(Well, you know, since it is almost a requirement on all AT's to slot 2 ACC enhancements on every attack if you hope to, you know, like, hit anything at all.)

    3) Stamina, slotted with low level enhancements does little to overcome the drain added by #1 and #2
Because of #3, you can reduce #1, and eliminate #2.

#1) Pick other types of powers instead. As mentioned above, an extra Recall Friend on the team never hurts. You wont even need to add slots to it, letting you keep more EndReduction in your attacks if you want. If it doesn't fit into your overall build, you can always respec out of it later. The idea is to get through the lower levels the best way you can, and then do what you really want later on when you have more resources. Don't try to cram your whole build into your first choices. You can pick up the "extras" along the way as well.

#2) Don't add slots to the Inherent Fitness at low levels. That will give you the enhancement slots to put whatever you want into your other powers. Treat Inherent Stamina as a free slot for a little extra boost, and that's it. Add your extra slots later when they will be more effective.
  25. Paid close attention during a Rikti Invasion today. I was solo and tried to use only Single-target attacks.

I had a shard drop from a Heavy Assault Suit and also a Conscript, so it looks like it's not limited to just the EBs. There wasn't even an EB up when I got the shard from the Conscript.

I'd say that maybe the Conscripts are lvl 50 also, but I got a lvl 30 Invention Recipe from another Conscript, so I can't really explain that.

Either way, I think we can all agree that we can earn them during invasions anyway.
