    Farmless RV

Been fun in RV the last few nights with less farmers (I didnt see any) and a few more players than the average ghost town. Maybe things are starting to turn around :O)

psy is only pointing out that stunlocks etc coupled with waaaaaay too much dmg from a set like that, really just isnt balanced, but hey! its CoH! bugs n unbalanced parp splashed with a dollop of boringness is what u want, go for it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just remove supression then. That way a control AT can kill before a status effect wears off too, just like blasters, scrappers, brutes.....

    [ QUOTE ]
Just a quick note about being 'perma held'. I do not think it is 'supposed' to be possible, but a dom in warburg recently proved me wrong...with domination up, he was able to perma hold me whilst his fire imps took me down from full health to death without me moving a muscle ( albeit I didnt have dull pain running, or IH for that matter...but it can be done )

    [/ QUOTE ]

That isnt supposed to happen, unless he simply killed you super fast before the supression period got a chance to kick in. I would have asked him to help test it.

edit: or maybe different effects have different supressions. I seem to remember reading that you could hold someone then say.. stun them during supression. *races off to buy stun grenades*
  3. Was looking for some fire/dark posts and found this. Dont have any experience of the combo but I hate seeing peoples questions go unanswered. Try having a look at this:

btw. fire/dark looks like a nice effective combo.

Hmmm, to make a character that could win, or one I was going to make anyway?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah i'm wondering what to build for this. To the character creation screen robin. Nananananana Leader.. erm.. batman!
  5. [ QUOTE ]
squishies aint supposed to be running around solo in the zones taking on tanks and brutes. find a team and enjoy the buffs. it wud be kinda stupid and it was stupid when a blaster cud stand toe to toe with a tank and usually win

    [/ QUOTE ]

Blaters are squishy and can take on brutes, not sure about tanks though.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
I have 3 EM heroes my self. all the other secondary effect are too weak. either buff em or tweak energy melee

    [/ QUOTE ]

Buffing the other sets doesnt solve the problem your squishy toons have. Although I agree most of the alternative blaster sets are pants.
  7. Should consider buffing controller and dom damage then so they can kill before their effects wear off as well. (although I have no idea about controllers as I havent played many so I may be wrong there). I wouldnt say this is JUST EM though, there are other sets which my earlier comment refered too. That a non control AT shouldnt be able to incapacitate AND kill before the effect wears off. And yes, I would say a control, non damage AT shouldnt be able to pull that off either. Thats what teams are for, to cover each others weaknesses.

Just to add some more accurative anecdotal evidence to my "Stalker's can't level for toffee" statement, I've been levelling my blaster all weekend. I got my Stalker out for a hack at one point, got wasted within seconds, and realised there and then that the Blaster would have made very easy going of that mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I did find them hard going till i picked up superspeed. The extra stealth component is good for zipping away and through other mobs till hide comes back up.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Recently when i've been pvping in the zones all i see is energy melee blasters, energy melee brutes, energy melee tankers and energy melee stalkers.

I have 3 energy melee toons my self. I think they should reduce the stuns chance of the powers it's too great. Makes it a pain playing a squishy. What do you guys think of this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think you feel guilty after pwning my poor dom last night you bully!
I think theres a problem when a non control AT can incapacitate something AND kill it before the effect wears off. I'm not sure what the solution is though, maybe a scaled supression so the supression period is different for each AT. Either that or just reduce the effect time so it can still toggle drop and give the player time to close in for more attacks.
  10. I like that WWII propaganda look.

    Mako pet report

A while back people asked me to check out the coralax blue hybrid from mako's patron set. Well it isnt too bad. Its nice to have something else soak up some of the aggro, and the extra damage is welcome. The main problem is the ratio of uptime to downtime, and that he sometimes seems a bit shy to attack (no worse than shivans though). Makes me think i maybe judged the waterspout a bit too early, my main gripe against that was its lack of aggression. Worth picking up if the thought of pets makes you go weak at the knees, in which case the spout might be worth a look in as well. I'l be testing both the spout and coralax to destruction on the test server though

BEST PVP ZONE!? Well, did you know villains can use Teleport Foe while in the hospital. The Police Drones inside the hosptial can't help. Lots of players hate this, and as far as I know, it's not busy. Busy sometimes...but other times, it's not busy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not sure what your point is, or even what zone you refer to.
RV has buckets of potential, just needs more people in it. I had fun last night although there were only a handful of people there.
  13. I heard the team size buff to domination was changed recently, that it hadnt been workin properly before or something.
  14. You can change the costume later anyway. If the name bothers you then now is a great time to restart.
  15. Indeedy :O)
Cant remember if you were around at the same time as the rad corruptor but the +recharge from AM made domination near perma.
  16. 2nd team on tommorow. 1st off, whos coming. 2nd, we have 4 regulars tops, so if any new peeps want to get involved this would be a good time. oh. usual time, 7pm.

I think you'd be better making a character on Union or Defiant as no one PvPs in zones on Test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

First rule of zone PvP on Test: you do not talk about zone PvP on Test

    [/ QUOTE ]

Another awesome post. I thought you had gone into hiding as well.

Late at night there usually seem to be more Villains than Heroes though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I checked RV last night at 11 pm GMT and there were 3 heroes there grinding, no pvp in sight.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like RV but I'd rather hit 50 atm. After the double xp weekend I'll be poking my head in there regular.
  19. I'd say leaping as well if only for accrobatics. So many longbow missions later you really need kb protection from those damn grenades.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Sheesh radio, you were mishing with me while you posted this!!! Yeah right, bio break uhuh!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    lmao.
Be good to have another dom on the team :O)

    Citadel vs sleep

    [ QUOTE ]
His AI makes him toggle it on and off, so you can get him reliably. Once he's slept, if you keep him sleeping he'll most likely not put it back on (because if he tries to put it on, your next sleep will sleep him before the mez-protection effect kicks in).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thats prolly why it was working sometimes.

    Citadel vs sleep

    [ QUOTE ]
I never said to use sleep, I just said mezz.

Only if you can't hold him immediately at the point that shield breaks, should you pre-occupy him using sleep/KB.

But this is all moot anyway.

Hmm, how resistant are AVs to Confuse, usually?

    [/ QUOTE ]

AFIAK its a no no until the triangles go down. I actually use my confuse to get an idea of when the triangles ARE down, as its easier to see the purple confuse bubbles than some microscopic triangles.

    Citadel vs sleep

    [ QUOTE ]
Ouch, Entropy Shield protects against Knockback as well...

In that case, I would recommend a lot of slows (if you have them) and keep hitting him with your best toggle-dropping power (every Dominator secondary has one attack that has about 60% chance of dropping toggles) until Entropy goes, then mezz him as fast as you can. Pets or purple insps will help a lot while you try and tough it out with him until his Entropy Shield falls.

EDIT: Scratch that, since the toggle drop effect only works in PVP. That's messed up, man

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its also a lot of work just to land a soft control like sleep or immobalise.
  24. MarquandDance

    Citadel vs sleep

    [ QUOTE ]
He means a status protection toggle like Unyielding or Integration... in this case it's "Entropy Shield".

Which seems to be waaaay overpowered for a status protection toggle... all that AND +def??!?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah i missed that earlier and changed my post. Citadel looks like a huge balls up IMO. Although sleep DOES stick SOMETIMES, shame its such so difficult to test against an AV, or in this case EB.
  25. MarquandDance

    Citadel vs sleep

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, he IS a robot... Also, he has a status protection toggle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you mean those pesky triangles, sleep normally goes through that. As for being a robot, I dont think that would justify designing this AV in such a way that your only reliable control option is immobalise.

EDIT: nm. I missed the entropy shield on that link. Interesting that this protects against sleep AND immobalise. What are you meant to do now? Drop a shivan from a hidden position and pray he doesnt die?
