Quote:This sounds like a conspiracy, don't let Nemesis find out, you'll get sued.
Bad_Dog Says:
First the quick background:
So a few days ago, after a frustrating night of fanning enemies with Shadow Maul with a new alt, I went on a quest to pursue the question again. This time i used a different approach. I asked the question, "If I were going to nerf accuracy and wanted it to be as unnoticeable as possible, how would i do it? That question led me right to the answer and how the accuracy nerf was snuck in.
Quote:Memphis_Bill Says:
2. There's a conspiracy between the devs and the rest of the playerbase to hide an accuracy nerf. Nobody will admit to anything, except *you.*

I've been here since CoH beta, and overall I had never found a game so enjoyable to play as this one. That being said, its things like this that really burns me. It aggravates me to the point of considering moving to that other superhero game coming soon. This "new and improved" inherent accuracy is B.S.
I haven't noticed any decrease in accuracy even for Dark Melee, and that is on one of my two mains. I have been playing for some time. He misses alot, it's true, but that is part of the charm of that set.Have a good day Sir.
As for everybody else in this thread. Have we quite finished picking apart the math in the game? Or are there even more Nemesis related plots afoot? -
I thought I was the only one that knew this patch was for visual sound. Finally, promised so long ago, we'll get our visual sound. Also, the Iwin button is going to be live for all vet's of 6 months or more.
You heard it here first folks! -
Just to add a second two cents in. Do you guys know anybody who Likes playing in Dark Astoria? If so, then maybe weather might work. I have nobody on my friends list who likes that zone for its dark immersion. As a matter of fact, we find it annoying. It's also dangerous. The danger is kind of nice, but overall dim vision would be a negative. Also if the weather affected our abilities, then those who don't like weather wouldn't have the option of ignoring it for their own fun, because not seeing it and suffering it would be the pits.
Just my (Now) four cents. -
Nice job on Mids, did it all in less than 5 Minutes. I did encounter the problem with the blank area where you have to type Inherent in manually. Why in the world would I have to type something in :P
Anyways, thanks for putting the work in. -
If they add rain like I've had in a few other games, (just rain mind you) it would tempt me to quit this game. Unless of course I could turn it off. If it is able to be toggled, then I don't see why they shouldn't add it to increase immersion. Problem I have is, how do you toggle the decrease in light that rain would bring? The world is already dark enough as it is. During the halloween event where it was always night I couldn't even navigate Praetoria without personal gripe.
I only see it as a problem, because much of the weather related issues would bork my system, and force it to shut down for good. I already have overheating problems, and alot of people who I know are still playing CoX have frame rate issues. If they made this game anymore intensive, then we would all be finding a new MMO. Less players equals less funding, which ends up being less features for the game, and possible shut down of the game as well. I don't want to see this wonderful game which i've been enjoying as a spectator or player for the last 6 years go belly up. All in the name of immersion? Some people would be pleased, and immersion would be awesome, but if you can't get Most people onboard then it's a waste of funding. I agree with War Witch. It's possible, and if done right, then everybody would be pleased, but it would be uber-difficult to get just right.
My two inf. -
I think the devs are doing great and you all need to get off their backs.
That being said, I am glad it isn't right before Thanksgiving, I might even go so far as saying I am thankful it isn't out before. You see, I have family I would like to have a nice dinner with, and I don't intend to sit at my desk eating turkey and cranberry sauce.
However if it was released, that is very likely the result, as I've been hooked on this game from day one. I haven't always had the money to play, and I haven't always had the money for the packs, but I have sent as many people this way as I could, and end up with more people to play this wonderful game with.
Thanks for the update, it always warms my heart to know that you guys care about us players, and feel like keeping us in the loop whenever possible. I can't wait for i19, but alas, it seems I will have to. See you in game soon! -
I'd be all for a DXPWE, but you know, with all that is happening, I would rather i19 comes out. I've been having fun already, but it'd be even more fun when i19 goes live.
I am not really looking forwards to the Winter Event, because unless they have something new this year I don't have alot to do on that. Also, it kills teaming for anything else, because people are so set to get the winter awards.
So when you have the time Devs, bring on the DXPWE, but until then, I'm fine with you guys working hard on the next Issue. Good Job! -
I am... necroposting. My bad. I can't believe nobody said
"I am whoever you say I am, if I wasn't then why would you say I am?" -

Quote:I was wrong for this character. I added goggles to his forehead. I don't believe they were out when I made the toon, and I changed his hair style to a more updated version of the same. Other than that, the first slot hasn't changed since making him. The other four however have holes burnt in their files from rewriting them so often lolLol, I only have one character I got right from the get go, and only on his first slot. His hair IS green, and he is a Defender. He is my first character on this account, and I had a detailed backstory and visual design worked out, that didn't work once I entered the character creator lol. The only time I have changed his original outfit is when I got access to capes. I haven't touched it since, not even to get an aura.

Quote:If memory servers there has only been the one change that above poster mentioned. There are a few gone that just don't get used anymore. Of course I haven't been to many of the event where all the dev's supposedly show up, maybe 1 or 2. So I wouldn't know much of that.I just had a thought. If Christopher Bruce is gone (or any dev/mod), could someone take up that person's former name? I honestly don't know, but I kinda doubt it actually.
Maybe there was no reason to post. *Gets Formal* Move along, nothing to see here. -
Quote:Lol, I have been seeing old posts for several days. If it has something relevant, why start an entirely new thread? The only reason would be to get more attention. I've never been much of an attention getter, so I prefer to comment on old posts. Is there anything wrong with this?I find it funny when people comment about "necro posts." If you go to the trouble of searching for a topic that discusses something you want to talk about, finding one, and posting in it, people make comments about necro posting. If you start a new thread, people complain because you didn't use an older thread. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
[Note: I comment on new posts, was just saying I also comment on old posts.] -
Quote:I know that this is necroposting to the max, but I never got a chance to thank any of you so, thanks. And yes, that's exactly what I meant. Except I want a "Congrats" "Thanks" "This is my Target"I think the OP means things like "Tuants" and "Ready" and "This is my Target", etc.

Quote:You have a point. They wouldn't have the new "Shiny" that the other pieces had. I stand behind the idea another 5%Yes, there would be a price spike at first, but I doubt it be as big of one as the original costume recipes had. They aren't new piece so you wont get the "must have new shiny" demand and it's likely a good chunk of the characters that "need" them already have them.

[Edited for a typo]

I kind of like this idea, even though it doesn't really help with the low level thing, not too many merits available for my low level toons, especially at 1st level.
Quote:Why not just make the TFs drop recipes to make the costume pieces instead of unlocking the costume pieces directly? That way you could unlock them with one character and pass them on to other alts, or buy them at the market.
Of course both statements could be wrong, i've been known to make mistakes. I've also been known to stir up a little trouble. Or have I? -
Quote:Meant to comment on this as well. Why in the world would they let you have costume patterns and not shield patterns under the low settings? Did they ever say anything about that?It is, in fact, a Video Setting that makes you not see them. You need to have Advanced Graphics Settings enabled, and then under that, go to Shader Quality and set it to either Medium or High. Lowest, Low (No world bumpmaps), and Low (With world bumpmaps) will not show the patterns, except on the Heater style shield.
-
Noticed the same problem, I was going to /bug it but it seems like there has been at least one person with the same problem. Did you /bug it? This problem reproduces with Cavalier, Knight, Round, and Heater as well. It does not however affect the "Kite" shields. It hasn't been fixed on the beta server yet, so I doubt it's a big concern for the team, unless they don't know about it.
I could try to draw their attention to it, and see if they know yet. Would that be the Sexy Jay's department?
Note: This is for all AT's that use shield defense, in case that means anything. I even checked the Praetorians, in case they use a different code or some such. -
Seconded. And thirded if necessary. Heck I'd do whatever is necessary to make this happen.

[Edit: My bad, just realized I am seriously necroposting.]
Quote:Anybody who lives in an area of natural disasters, is doing exactly what anybody who lives in a forest fire zone is doing. Living in an area of that is dangerous and not doing what they should to avoid it.Those who had their houses leveled by earthquakes or tornadoes deserve charity since well, we can't exactly predict those things within reason. Those who built their house in a middle of a forest fire zone ignoring all fire marshall or government warnings do not. They knew full well what they were getting into and chose the foolish path.
Mapping.
With that in mind, anybody who is doing powerleveling, should be ready for the "Natural Disaster" of people expecting a free hand out. Besides it is a game, and it is for fun.
On the other hand, if it's not fun for you to be powerleveling other people, then perhaps you shouldn't be doing it. Nobody is making you. Now if you need the money for you toon, and you are trying to raise it, then anybody who pays will be pleasing you, and you can ignore the other people as you see fit. It is after all your time. From the reverse, if someone doesn't want to pay, then they shouldn't.
No need to say anything negative about others who want to do things either way. People deserve their own opinions. Just keep in mind that if you are offering it for a cost, and someone else isn't, most people will go for the free version, unless they are rich, and don't care about expenditures, at which point people will likely pay an increased cost, for a more efficient solution. Both are options. I personally would usually offer it for free, but if I needed the INF, I would sell it at much higher than 4Mil for 24 levels, because of the rules of supply and demand. -
I certainly hope he can read sarcasm lol. I love stone, and love ice, but... Well you know.

Quote:No.... Not Jay as well. I might just quit right now....and BaB's sure is one to miss, but noone seem to notice that Jay appears to have gone missing as well?
I'm sure they'd replace him with competent talent, but he is responsible for so many of my favorite goodies.
-
I just found out about the layoffs, and I must say, that I love all the dev's I've come in contact with, and Bab's will be missed on here. I always heard from him on the boards, and he tried to be good PR while maintaining his job as Animator. I think he did an excellent job, and only one Dev seems to stick out more for me, and thats sexy Jay.
As you can see, I love the look of this game and that is what really is important to me. I will miss Bab's hard work on animations, and hope the replacement guys do just as good. As for the others who have moved on, I don't know who they are, but I am hoping they all have opportunities and doors opening for them. This has been a great game, and it's only getting better.
I have seen lulls and I have seen surges, and I have to say, sometimes I look forward to both, as they both have their opportunities.
To the rest of the Dev team, keep up the good work! (Glances at War Witch and Castle) I have so many favorite Dev's I can't decide whether I've mentioned the right names. -

The only one I've kept the same costume on for most of the time is the Defender in my signature. And even she got an emergency trip to Icon after someone asked "Why is your hair green?". It was supposed to be blond.
As a matter of fact I almost never have an aura on the first slot, because sometimes my computer has issues with them (in large battles) so I switch to my first slot which is less graphic intensive.
My other toons have required trial and error, and only one other has stayed even remotely like the original, as I start developing the character attitude while playing them and feeling out there particular dynamic between my play style with their powersets and between the original look. They evolve slowly over time.
I am just glad the character creator is so expansive, because it has allowed me to maintain my character appearances after i've gotten them right, because I have NEVER ran into a look alike for any of my characters. (Unless I made it cookie cutter, which doesn't count. Example: Longbow theme or some such)
