I run it just so I can pick that guys pocket. Where else in CoX do you get a chance to pick somebodies pocket?

Oh man I hate this one. That opengl timeout error is one that seems to crop up randomly for some users in opengl games and not for others. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Some manage to fix the problem by changing to much older drivers (266.58). Others by changing task handling from the GPU to auto. But what works for one person often doesn't work for another.
Brink which also uses opengl has lost a lot of users because the problem is much more common when playing there.
One thing that springs to mind is you might want to try removing the babylon toolbar and see if that fixes anything. I don't have any idea if that actually causes any conflicts but somebody else who was recently having graphics problems also had the babylon toolbar installed. -
I'm glad to see that you are willing to reformat and reinstall. So many people insist on trying to save their drive as is and sometimes that can be almost impossible.
My suggestion is to just install the things you absolutely need. No toolbars, no download assistants, no programs that you think you might want to try but aren't sure.
That's the way I do things now. Once upon a time I used to install everything that came along but I have learned that not only does that lead to viruses but it also leads to system instability from having so many background processes. -
Green Lantern was a bit mundane. I'm just not getting interested in the exploration of turning a Red Lantern into a good guy arc.
Young Justice was also just so so. I don't really care about Cadmus or another super clone. I'm betting he is going to become Bizarro though. I actually found the discussion about potential new members more entertaining than the main plot, and that's a sad thing. The last episode was great though so I'm not too upset at one being slightly off.
Ben 10 was pretty good. I'm looking forward to part 2. Most the time I just let B10 run in the background while I'm doing other stuff and I occasionally glance over. This time I watched it completely while ignoring other stuff. I don't know if it was a repeat or not but I know I hadn't seen it yet. -
Wow, I really don't like the look of all those @systemroot svhost files
When was the last time you ran a full antivirus scan?
If it wasn't recently then do it now.
Also download and run Malwarebytes
If the antivirus scans show your system as clean then we can look into other steps. -
I would try changing the password on your router. It's entirely possible that somebody has managed to hack their way into your network and is only using it at night to draw less attention. If you are using WEP security then change it to WPA2 or WPA. If you stop having the problem right after you change your password then that was probably it.
Actually this will probably wind up being a problem for a lot of people pretty soon. Well, maybe not a lot of people but it is something that has become easy to do.
Ever since wireless routers started implementing an simple setup function (the part where you just push a button on the router and then on your device) the devices have had an 8 digit WPS code associated with them. Look on the back of your router. If you see an 8 digit code somewhere then your router has that function. And it probably does because all newer routers have it. It should be right after a symbol that looks like yin-yang arrows.
Now if somebody knows your 8 digit code they can get into your system. What are the odds somebody could figure out the code? Well you would think really low. With an 8 digit code there are 100,000,000 possible combinations. Only 3 attempts can be made before most routers will lock up for 1 minute so brute force wouldn't seem like it would work. Only it doesn't work like that. Instead the way the security check works is that after the first 4 digits are sent the router responds with a yes or no to let the sender know if they got the first part right. So what you have are two 4 digit codes, or only 20,000 possible combinations.
You might be thinking that you can just go into the router configuration and turn off the easy access function... except that doesn't actually work. In every router tested it was found that turning off the WiFi simple configuration function did not disable the remote PIN access. Even now simple programs are getting out onto the market to hack into routers everywhere. If you live in a remote area where nobody else can see your router then you are probably fine. If you live in a crowded area where a lot of people can see it then you probably aren't so fine.
Of course if somebody is using the PIN code to hack in then changing the password will do nothing for you because they will be able to see the settings and what the new password is.
And now that I've left you all with this healthy dose of paranoia I'll leave you to enjoy the rest of your day. -
Run these two programs and post the results here in separate messages. It will give us a better idea what might be wrong.
CoHHelper and Hijackthis -
Nice to see the winner. But what is really cool is the link further down the page to the swiss knife snowboard.

I just hope that nobody ever does try to adapt "Armor". Although the book is chock full of powered armor action the story is all about the psychology of it, which there is no way to convey without incredibly annoying voice over.

Scariest movie I have ever ever seen is 12:01 pm. It's a 25 minute short starring Kurtwood Smith and it's almost impossible to find.
And almost nobody else thinks of the movie as scary which I feel is due to the inability to grasp the concept fully. Or maybe it's just that I'm strange. -
I was all prepared to say exactly this. She is the one companion who got me to actually dislike Doctor Who. I still watched it but it quickly went from must watch it soon a possible to watch after my other favorites to I'm really bored (sigh) I suppose I could catch up on Who

Oh and folks.....Rick's wifes name is Lori.... for the life of me I don't understand where everyone is getting all these different names for her from.....
It's spelled Larry. -
I agree that he's right, you can't have a democracy in that situation. But the way he was speaking wasn't even slightly like Rick normally does. It was a speech and attitude straight out of Shane. Rick gets intense, he doesn't get all frothy like that.
-
Quote:No kidding. Two weeks ago "Rick, you have to kill Shane before he kills you and claims me and Carl." This week. "You animal! How could you kill Shane just because he was trying to kill you."And Laurie. Acting all high and mighty after finding out he killed Shane.
The dialogue in this was terrible though. Rick turned into Shane and Carol turned into Dale. The Jerk and the whiner.
I did admire the gunplay in this episode though. Everybody made the experts from top shot look like rank amateurs.
Firing rapid fire in darkness? Every shot a headshot.
Firing from a fast moving bouncing vehicle? Every shot a headshot.
Firing backwards while running at a sprint? Every... well, you get the point. -
The Radeon HD 7450 is really really low end and meant for nothing much more than browsing the net and watching videos. Maybe some low end gaming.
So newchemicals has it right. Play in safe mode for a while and see if you have the problem. If not then gradually raise different settings. -
Ok, so where is the shot for shot analysis with all the hd screenshots? I need new wallpaper.

I'm sure they are doing this because they want to be able to expand his rogues gallery. This way he can be caught in explosions and in blasts that can pulverize buildings but still come back fighting. He doesn't have to take on only Spider-man level threats but can handle Iron Man levels.
***Now for the real reason***
"Hey guys. The Iron Man movie was more popular than Spider-man was. Super suits are cool. Let's give Spidey a super suit."
"Yeah! And Captain America rode a motorcycle. Spidey needs a motorcycle and a shield."
"But he can't hold a shield and swing."
"Dang, there goes my using a magic hammer idea too."
"Ok, so it's settled. Super suit and motorcycle... and maybe he can borrow a shield and hammer to face really big threats." -
One of the guys comments was that Renner was wearing an arm guard on both arms meaning that he really had to be doing things wrong if he was hurting both arms. I guess he's never heard of a costume before. Completely bare arms just don't look right with that costume. And the type of bracers the comic book Hawkeye uses really would interfere with firing the bow.
Plus of course the author probably thinks that nobody can hit the broad side of a barn without the correct form (hand to cheek, sight through string). Much like Adam and Jamie on Mythbusters decided it was impossible to be accurate firing a pistol from the hip just because it was something they couldn't do on their first try. The main concept behind Hawkeye is his skill is at a point that he is an instinctual archer. He doesn't have to bring the bow in line and sight through the string in order to hit something. He just knows where the arrow is going to go.
And you know, when I was a teen I taught myself to fire the bow with a very awkward form. Sure I could line up the bow and be more accurate at a longer range but I did it just because it was cool to be able to whip the bow up and fire before my arm was even fully extended and put the arrow in a milk carton from 50 feet. Hitting something that size from 50 feet is not exactly accurate archery, but it's fun when you are doing it all superhero like and firing from the hip. -
Looks pretty good. I'm really hoping there aren't many chibi moments. I hated those in Teen Titans.

The Japanese trailer was just released. It has footage not seen in the previous trailers including Pepper Potts and a great shot of the helicarrier taking off.
Wow! -
Some information was released about the final episode. Rick is going to reveal what Jenner whispered to him. I think it's going to be that everybody is already infected.
You die, you walk.
The only thing the bite does is give you an infection that kills you. -
I want to mention something else that gave me hope for the movie and for kids in general. At the end of the movie when people were leaving a tween girl with her family said to her father "That was the awesomest movie ever" and when her dad didn't reply she said "No, I'm serious. That movie was great!"
I think the opening weekend just did so poorly for two reasons.
One, the advertising for the movie was pure crap. It looked like the movie would be horrible. I almost avoided myself because I didn't want to see a series I loved wind up totally trashed.
But right now most of the independent geek reviewers are giving it good reviews. This will bring in at least some of the geeks who were avoiding it because of the previews.
Two, it was opposite the Lorax. So parents of young children had no choice but to take those children to see the Lorax this weekend.
Sure it only made 30 million over the weekend but I think it might actually do better over the next couple weekends at least. -
I absolutely loved it. I felt like a kid again.
Take this with a grain of salt though since I grew up reading Burroughs and have probably read the mars series 10 times at least.
As a fan of the series though I have to say they did a wonderful job of adapting it. -
Your hijackthis looks good. I was hoping for something like tremendously outdated video drivers because that would stand out.
Unfortunately I'm not an ATI user so I'm not familiar with which drivers might be problematic.
If it's not the drivers then it probably has something to do with one of the settings that is exceptionally low. Of course with that video chip you can't set most settings much higher. Maybe I'll see about experimenting with my settings in game to try and replicate it. But I am on Nvidia so I might not see the effect. -
Quote:Try intoducing him to DVDs of the old Land of the Lost or, if he wants up-to-date CGI, Primeval. Both of them feature time travel and dinosaurs and are superior to Terra Nova.
THIS!!!
And not just because it's an entertaining series for kids. But because currently Amazon has the entire series (7 discs) on sale for only $12.50
