  1. New splash screen? No!

Now who will hold Miss Liberty's left , uh, endowment?

What? Well, what did you do during the loading time with your Big Blue Hand?

I'm going to miss this the most too. My most beloved character started out fighting crime in Galaxy City and I took dozens of pics with these lions. I'll also miss the park with the stream, lotsa time spent just hunting Vahz.

    I'll miss ya, Galaxy!

That seems to be the his understanding, but that isn't the case. You get power from the Well. The "gods" of the past got their power from the Well. It doesn't automatically follow that your character must get his power from that god. Your hero gets his power from the Well too. Gods need not be involved.

There's room to "explain" it as whatever you want, really.

My Tech hero isn't an Incarnate of a deity, but instead the Well has increased his already powerful mind to "Incarnate levels"; he built better armor and weaponry because of it.

I don't think the lore or the Devs state you have to be an Incarnate of a deity ...
  5. Also, if you use the "Rock" Temp Power from the Halloween Event on any of the AVs during an Incarnate Trial, that nets you a Very Rare too.

(I have anecdotal evidence to back this up, so its not like I'm making it up).

Took a little over a months time. But that was with dedication to wanting to have such a build. I'd say she spent about 2-4 hours a day, skipping some days, to get that build.

Mind you, I was running STFs for her, and she was selling other drops she didn't need to afford the items she did need.

Instead of saving Purple drops one may use later, she sold them for ones she wanted now.

ITFs I've always found to be worthwhile on getting a good chance for a purple drop. And This is a kill all TF that can be completed in 30-60mins.

And yeah, if you don't like running lvl 50 content, or TFs, you're right, it just became harder. But the access to getting these builds is there.
I think you're seeing the time you play as "average" when it is, in my view, power playing. I don't know of anyone (personally) that can commit to the kind of time you're saying is "average".

The ways of getting much of the "good stuff" in the game is available to the average player (saving for the Incarnate-y stuff, of course), but the time investment is very, very large. Power players can get this stuff easy, average players will take a longer time.

All that said, I can't wait to pull my old DM/EA Brute out of the mothballs and tune her up!

Looking at my SG, I'd say having the ability to play 3 hours a day is pretty common. Seeing chat go by of the same people in global chats for over 3 hours a day.

My view on the average player is that yes, they can make 3 hours a day.
Are you seeing those same players every day? I consider myself to be an average player, and I'm lucky if I get on for more than 10-12 hours a week.

Many people don't have a "50" yet, or haven't purchased Going Rogue. How can they try the Incarnate system?

  12. I kinda look at it this way though, if you're not a paying member (VIP) today, you don't have access to GR/Incarnates at all - even if you've purchased Going Rogue. Everything they allow you to have as a "Free" member is, therefore, free.

It would be nice to have some clarification on the Incarnate stuff though.

    Coming Storm?

    Paragon Wiki:

"Twilight's Son is the last of his race. The Kheldians have been wiped out and used as a source of energy to power the ships of a deadly alien force in the far distant future. Twilight's Son looks upon our time like it is a thing of make believe. Though distant and somewhat removed from humanity, he is filled with an overwhelming hope that anything is possible. He looks out upon this world and can see no other outcome but success"

The Kheldians fled to many worlds. The "enemy" would need to have vehicles that cross the space between planets ... or teleporting ships. Or, TARDISes.
  14. OOps ... I made a human costume too (my main sent me some costume salvage too, isn't he nice?), should I post it or just reveal in in game?
  15. Okay, here's Mao's new costume. Much more functinal and less cumbersome.

  16. If I could afford your fee, I'd commission you to do a "roster" of my heroes and villains like the one you have in your sig.

  17. Maybe we could use the Eden map for AE missions on the Isle ... an abandoned and destroyed research station being overtaken by nature. The "Hamidon towers" might be made by genetically/magically altered termites or moles - or maybe just a geologic feature of the asteroid/Isle.

I'm going to post Mao Khan's new costumy bits tomorrow. Must sleep. Work in morning. ZZZZzzzz......

PS! Do you want a left-profile, right-profile or head-on (like the one I supplied up there)?

    End!
  18. Here's Mao Khan ...
He's abandoned this costume; though impressive, it was too much weight and
bogged him down in combat. This is armor and tech taken from the Isle.

  19. Here's Mao Khan's story:
    -------------------------

    Project Moreau, Panthera tigris

    Project Coordinator:
Dr. Heins Klaus- Molecular Geneticist; Tiger Genome Project Coordinator; BioTech Advances, CEO (Retired)

    Project Technician (Magician):
Arcanus Master Mao Ji; Elementalist, Lycanthropist, Empath.

    Project:
    20.9-070519 – Siberian Tiger
Origin: Jilin Province, People’s Republic of China

    Physical Characteristics:
Length: 3.50 m (11 ft 8 in) snout to tail
Height: 124 cm (4 ft. ) tall at the shoulders
    Mass: 318 kg (700 lb)

Miscellaneous project notes, Master Mao Ji:

    TD-01
What a majestic beast they have brought us! One of the largest tigers I’ve ever seen, though not the largest in recorded history. When I lay hands upon him I feel his savagery, he will make fine stock for the soldiers our Project leaders desire.

    TD-04
In the few short days 20.9 has been with us he has demonstrated cunning and amazing intelligence – for an animal. I’ve spent time with him, reformed in body, of course, to gain insight into the nature of his aura and essence. Such a personality!

    TD-07
A week and Klaus’ testing is complete. I have such disdain for science and its sterility. We’ve developed in full Khan’s genome … Khan is our name, or rather his name that we have arrived upon together. It is our secret. Klaus will begin extracting DNA for crossing and splicing, my task will be to empower Khan, and the subsequent tiger derivations, with magical abilities.

    TD-11
Fire. It is the only element that will hold with Khan, the nature of his aura repels all other elements. When I take his form my tiger eyes are overwhelmed by his presence. When I look upon him with my human eyes I see a primal savagery that can be expressed only through fire. Khan is fire. His eyes burn with it, he burns with it.

    TD-21
I came upon a poem. I’ve shunned mundane literature, but this one took me. It is written by a mundane poet named William Blake.

    Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare sieze the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art.
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
    Dare its deadly terrors clasp?

When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

    Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
    What immortal hand or eye
    Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

It is my hand that dares to seize the fire, it is my shoulder and my art that will forge Khan upon my Anvil. He will be a weapon the world will not soon forget.

    TD-62
Klaus has submitted papers asking for my dismissal from the project. He thinks I have grown to close to my brother Khan. He believes I spend more time with him in reformed body than is appropriate.

    Scientists.

What do they know? What does he know? He knows nothing. Khan will receive his pyroblast, his fire seed, in the ceremony tomorrow. But I have another gift for him as well, one Klaus will not suspect.

    TD-63
I will not be taken from my brother Khan. My psychoblast, my mind seed, has been made ready, it will be delivered with the pyroblast into Khan during the ceremony. As such, this will be my last entry. In two months Khan has become my brother and I will not allow him to enter into the world without a soul. A fiery, savage soul. I will be consumed, of course, by Khan’s primal ferocity but I accept that with honor. May Khan find use for what I give.

With this act of sacrifice I forge you and frame you, Tyger, my brother Khan, may your fire burn all that stand against you.
  20. Nice Ny ... Is it pronounced, "Sir" or "Kerr"? I've been think-speaking it "Sir", which I think is neat, calling a mouse, sorry rat, Sir.

And now -- more thoughts! I know, right?

A question burns inside of me. I have no Pepto Bismol to quench it therefore it must come out now.

Have we fled the pocket dimension/research facility and the experiments continue in our absence, or did we rebel and wreck holy abandon upon the project's scientists and overseers, releasing all our bretheren from "The Island" and building our home upon their ruins?

I prefer the latter ... I want to have killed the project and made a home of the Island. We would access the Island by means other than Portal Corp, maybe by using the magic or technology of our Old Masters. Our motivation in venturing forth from the Island are missions of proactive defense, learning the threats of the Old Master's world so we may defend our new home from them.

Purraj is our liberator therefore he should be the VG leader, and have the responsibility of maintaining the VG. Mao could lead in missions and stuff, and carry the ever-repugnant team star.

I don't see us leaving the Island and abandoning our bretheren without some justice delivered first.

PS: I'll try to post some pics soon
  21. I made my original concept before we nailed down our origins though (with "The Island" and all) - and being king in another dimension doesn't necessitate auto-leadership in this one. Plus, I don't want to be stepping on someone else's character concept, especially since I said I would remake mine to reflect our official beginnings.

Why am I hitting Shift/Enter to try to make a new paragraph? Sigh.

Mao can be all full of himself and just thinks he should be in charge. I'll sit down this afternoon and work up a new background with the Islander's stuff spelled out up there.

If Mao still wants to be leader, maybe we could settle it like animals do -- through combat in the Arena! Winner takes leadership.

What immortal hand or eye dare frame my fearful symmetry?
That's right, meat. Keep your distance!

    - Mao Khan
  22. - Secret Identities!

    - More variety in what powers can do, rather than just nine fixed abilities per power.

    - A greater variety of pool powers, even pool powers based upon other AT powers (ex: Kinetics pool power: with siphon power, siphon speed, repel, speed boost. Martial Arts: Thunder Kick, Storm Kick, Shuriken, Cobra Strike)

    - More movement powers, Tunneling would be awesome.
  23. I'm one of the very few that is grateful for the cut scenes!

My computer takes so long to load that the League is often half way, or completely done with taking out Warworks! If it weren't for the BAF cut scene think of all the threads and iXP I'd be missing. And what about my chances for a Rare or Very Rare? And when I disconnect upon zoning (which is about half the time) it gives me a chance to try again without missing too much of the action.

Everyone that suffers from Cut Scene Furor, remember you are suffering for those that still use Commodore 64s to game. You're all saints in my book.

My main is an Alpha-Slot level shifted MA/SR as well. I DID play - I did a few Lambda Sector trials last night. All were LFG PUGs with 8 members. And, though we failed every attempt, they were TREMENDOUS fun and I'll be online every night this week running them.

But be prepared for some disheartening.

I died. I died a lot. I died more than the rest of the team. Even the scaling resistances of my passive defenses had no effect. There's just NO WAY to avoid death (defeat) with only Defenses to protect you. An SR has become a squishy, you may as well run it with your toggles off. (Really, this is serious advice) But don't listen to those bitter SR players that are saying "My entire Secondary has been neutered!" It's not true. Quickness still works fine.

One good thing to come out of it was: I have *NEVER* been at the debt cap with my MA/SR. I can't say that now!

But this is where your team mates come in, with buffs and such. SR's survival will depend on 1) Buffs 2) Surrounding yourself with enough meat (other players) and hoping they get it instead of you or 3) Finding a nice, safe place to rest and watch the rest of your team sweat for you and watch the rewards of their efforts reign down upon you.

The trials are tough for most people right now and it is disheartening for SR. Its not easy becoming a squishy after 6 1/2 years of playing as uberman. But its fun, and fast, and eventually you'll amass enough power where you can blow through this trial fast.

But that day is not today.

So just play, have fun and die a lot. The Debt Cap is a nice guy when you get to know him.
