Eye beams.
Breath powers.
Both of these have preventing me from taking powers and/or entire sets. -
I love the changes.
I have been preparing my MA/WP character since the moment I saw them coming.
He is already pretty much unstoppable and now he will get more damage.
What's not to like? -
Illusion/Storm/Pyre
Total unmitigated chaos. -
Quote:I am so glad that I never have to play games with people like this. There is a new powerset called Kinetic Melee.
It has 9 powers in it.
Secondary Effects are KB/KD and Stun.
Kinetic Melee hits do Damage Debuff to enemies which then Damage Buff you.
The Build Up power for the set magnifies this Debuff/Buff effect for a short duration.
There is no other useful information concerning this powerset at this time.
Enjoy 3 screenshots that tell you the default color for this powerset is yellow. -
Controlling team leaders are the reason I seldom PUG.
I will jump on TFs and gladly follow a leader that knows what they are doing and follow them on subsequent runs. For one that does not lead well, I just don't run TFs with them again.
As for day-to-day PUGs i really avoid them, unless I am just in the mood to play a support character and none of my friends are online, I'll join to get some practice for the times when things go bad.
Other than that, I solo and only play with my RL friends for the most part.
Why? Because of leaders that want to tell me how to play. I don't mind inexperienced plays really. I'll slow down for them to learn but only if they speak up about being new.
If I know I can go off and steamroll on my own, I will. If the players on the team don't know enough not to follow me vs. sticking with the team, that is their problem, not mine.
As others have stated, I too find it rude to solo the big boss or go too far ahead before everyone is in the mission, so that all members get to participate in the big fights and get xp and other rewards.
I don't want to step on the fun of others, but I won't let the step on mine.
Playing as a team has a lot more to do with judging the abilities of the team and exploiting them than it does with everyone staying in a huddled mass. -
Hi all.
Does anyone have a Mids build lying about that softcaps a MA/WP?
I would really like a starting point and I am not ashamed to stand on the shoulders of others for it.
Trying to fool around with using Dark to gain some more AoE as well...
Not too sure if I should go for types like I have on my Katana/WP or stick to positions either.
Any thoughts are welcome. -

Fun. It's just fun to run around with my buddies and shoot stuff. There is no need for endless end-game grind, no horrible travel time and always something to do.

Quote:I spoke of no clique, nor did I make a personal attack. The lesson I take from all this is that if anyone other than that particular little clique has the audacity to post anything like a suggestion, that they will circle the wagons and make (often very) personal attacks until the thread's purpose is lost under a pile of ****.
I can read and make decisions on my own, thank you very much, and nothing I have ever read that you have posted about game mechanics has ever been, in any way, helpful.
That is not anything against you has a person.
This is, of course, one of the reasons you are so hard to deal with, because you cannot see that difference.
You, Johnny_Butane and others that think similarly, want the game to be something it is not. Rather than accepting what it is and building characters within that framework, you choose to want to alter it.
I abhor that point of view and those sorts of arguments bore me. -
Quote:The lesson I take from all of this is one I learned years ago; two of the main posters on these forums to NOT listen to are Ultimo_ and Jonny_Butane.The lesson you should take away from this is do what everyone else tells you, build how they dictate with the power sets they choose for you and stop expecting to have fun if you do otherwise.
Pretty simple really. -
Personally, I now want to make a character named Drive-By Buffer.
Anyone know what AT/Power Set Combo has the most buffs? -
Damnit! I was in London, from the US and I did not know about this, I could have attended the London one!

Taste the rainbow. From my experience, you will have more fun and feel more super. Eat 'em up, yum! Especially solo.
I have to say though, I do not understand the mental angst over video games. Believe me, I know plenty of folks that have it, I just don't understand it, much like I don't understand why people think hitting others over the head solves problems.
I play to relax, not to get in mental debates over resource management. I leave that for RL. -
Late to the party I know....
The question you asked with the OP was 'will it tick off others' and that has been answered.
To me the real question is, do the opinions of those that it ticks off matter to you?
Having never been kicked, kicked or seen another kicked for a build choice, I certainly don't see why anyone would care about what another player chooses for powers.
I have seen people leave a team when others had builds they disliked. I say good riddance. Some people forget it's a game. -
If you would read my posts, you will find that I agree PvP got borked and that by doing so, they drove away customers. There is no denying that fact, at all.
Slinging mud vitriol at them will not help solve the problem.
I am always happy to wave goodbye to those who think attacking the integrity of the developers is a good thing to do, because I despise those kinds of humans.
Is that clear enough?
And if any of you don't think they listen, you are delusional. Do they always agree, or always take player input into account for every change? Of course not. But they do listen.
As for being biased, we are all human and therefore flawed and biased, welcome to reality. -
Quote:I love how PvPers cannot help but pull the carebear card.I like how the slightest bit of negativity draws all the PvE carebears out of the woodwork.
There's a huge difference between "the makers want to take it in a different direction to make it more fun for everyone, and succeed in doing so" and "the makers want to take it in a different direction to make it more fun for everyone, but utterly fail and the people the changes were intended for still don't participate." All I13 did was drive away most of the existing PvP population and introduce a few new zone scrubs who insist they're good because they get kills thanks to broken mechanics rather than actual skill.
I agree I13 drove away most of the PvPers at that point.
I agree that the efforts made by the developers have had a negative effect on the number of PvPers.
I think players should attempt to have rational discourse with the developers to get what they want in the game, PvP or not.
But, the mere fact that so many of the PvP players cannot interact with players or developers without name calling and vitriol, would tell me, were I a developer, that the PvP population is not worth trying to court.
BTW. I help manage a multi-million software company. I can tell you point blank that the customers that treat us rationally and civilly get what they want and the ones that don't get shafted, one way or another. Period. The way you interact with humans matters, whether you like, understand it, or not. -
HAHAHAHA! Huge chunk. Now THAT'S funny.
I am so glad that the developers of this game pisses off most PvPers. So, very glad.
As for civility, for every clear headed, intelligent idea, there were hundreds of posts full vitriol and hate by the PvP community. Why would ANYONE want to bother to please people like that, even for money?
It really is simple. It's game, like it and stay or don't and leave. If you are incapable of realizing that, oh well, keep on being miserable I guess.
As for the "I love the game and want it to be better" retort, that's fine, but if the makers of the game want to go in a direction different from yours, that's reality. The developers obviously want the PvP game to be something other than what the hardcore PvPers want it to be. Is it really so hard to see that? -
Hulu, Hulu, Hulu.
Advertising there has got to better on both price and demographic.
Let Samuriko help with the ads.
I cannot recall the last time one of the geeks or gamers I know told me abouth anything they watched that was not a movie or on Hulu.
Did I mention Hulu? -
Quote:But the tears of nerdrage are SOO delicious! Why are people being so over dramatic & immature about the latest AE fix?
...
They already stated in a thread this fix with respect to allys is a temporary solution until a permanent one is implemented.
... You think in the world of game development is as easy as waving a magic wand?
Seriously people, let's practice some restraint...and maybe grow up a lil eh...
Please don't rob me of my snacks!
If the posting population becomes too mature and reasonable, where will I get my tasty nerdrage-filled snacks?
I would hate to have to start reading another games forums just to get my treats...
This is why I am glad of the fact that the posters on this forum represent a tiny fraction of the games playerbase and that I have encountered plenty of reasonable, mature players to actually play the game with rather than idiots who wail and moan because they might not get to 50 as fast.
Yes, that's right, I said it. I think that if this change, or any other that reduces some rewards really upsets you enough to start with this whole 'nuke it from orbit' routine, you really need to re-examine your priorities and grow up a bit. -
I am afraid I do not have a specific link, I simply remember reading it during Hero Con. Don't recall if it was an interview or just something someone overheard. I think it was Castle or Posi, if that helps anyone else find it.
-
One of the Devs has specifically mentioned, at Hero Con, that the new End Game system would allow characters to 'trivialize' the current content.

Quote:So, simply because you don't enjoy acquiring something, no one should be able to use the rewards in the manner they currently do. Somehow, in your logic, this is better than using zones for the manner in the intended manner?Nothing awarded in a PvP zone should have any effect on the PvE game at all. If Shivans are going to be in PvP zones they should ONLY be usable on other players. Same with nukes. Same with anything placed in a PvP zone, ever. Including PvP IO drops.
I hardly PvP. I don't really find it fun with no rewards, I am more of a CTF type PvPer. I do know, however, that if you are in the PvP zone, for whatever reason, there are risks.
If you don't like the risk vs. reward of a PvP zone DON"T GO THERE. All of you that think it's your RIGHT to get the PvP zone rewards without said risk need a wake-up call.
