I've always viewed it as such.

Hey Zaloopa, get someone to let those poor guys outta that paper already! Sheesh, can't you see they're freaking out?
-
/Doh!
Hence the implied threat of "I've done it before"
Guess I need more coffee. -
I is confused.
I thought Lighthouse left a while ago...

Sad to say, the farther out we get from 'the old model' the more they'll be able to get away with. We all waited with baited breath when Freedom launched. Watching like hawks to see how well they handled the new model.
The first few months were very impressive, as they slowly rolled out the year+ of backlogged material. Now that we've exhausted that though...
You can notice a trend in how they handle the market and our feedback to it. No longer walking on egg shells like they did in the very start, now they are trying to see just how far they can push the envelope. The nickel and dime tactics they swore to never use, kind of look preferrable to the macrotrans mindset.
I just hope the 'experiment' doesn't blow up in their face and end up causing a cascade failure of the entire deal. -

This is the first character I've really been invested in enough to play past 50.
This is also the first character I've really bothered to use sets with.
Up til now I've mainly dabbled in frankenslotting and SO's. I've actually never posted a build here as a result.
I'm not looking for anything really extravagant, this is pretty much how my build is set on live currently, with a few adjustment I plan to make.
This was done just going off the descriptions and teaching myself as I went though, so I'd like to get the expert opinions on places I can improve/ cut out fat etc. Main thing I find myself needing is more defense, I've got the Agility boost already slotted. So...

I've got around 700 million I can spend on him and most of those sets are already slotted, I want to keep fly for concept reasons but everything else is up for debate.
So let the slaughter begin. -
Quote:I used to do that. Even before Freedom, I paid my subscription even when I didn't have a working computer for 6 months. Just to support the game I love. This is my sentiment this week too, sadly
Though I still bough it because I wanna support the game. I have loads of points saved so I can get the weeklies but this pricing is silly.
When Freedom came out, I bought every little thing I could. To support the game I love.
At this point though, I have to question if my freely giving them money, in support of the game, even when I dissapprove of the product offered. Is actually a paradox.
That in reality, by 'supporting' these poor marketing choices, you only delay the inevitable price drop. That delay could end up hurting Paragon Studio's in the long term. If players start leaving in droves due to the over-pricing/ out of whack pricing.
I'm all for supporting this game and it's Dev's.
I just want to be certain that support isn't going to be detrimental in the longterm. -
I'm starting to wonder if the concept of impulse buying isn't being considered at all...
These types of things just scream 'Impulse buy' yet they are pricing them like they are
'serious decisions' buys -
Indeed.
I always wondered why it goes straight to unreadable black, instead of staying the default color. Next to impossible to get it back to default, which results in me not even bothering to choose a title on most characters at this point. -
I'm actually kind of shocked at how easy it's been to save points. I fully expected to be coughing up cash every month for stuff when Freedom was announced.
Of course, this could just be cause I/We spent like crazy right outta the gate and now only have new releases to look forward to. It also could be because I've passed on nearly every vanity item to come out this year, due to being overpriced for the value.
*Shrugs*
Just means I won't have to purchase any points when Staff comes out! -
Worst power I ever heard was the guy whose 'gift' was the ability to change the color of any object.
Anything he touched, he could change the color to anything else.
That's it, just the color, not the material itself. So no Gold from lead or anything. -
Color me surprised...
I put a Performance Shifter +rec level 21 recipe on WW's last night, listed it for 100 for lulz.
Logged in this evening to see that it sold for 77,777,777.
Poor guy should've tried to lowball. -
Quote:AEI don't want to run Trials. But I might want to fight AVs with a couple of friends. Where's my choice?
Cimerora
PI missions
Monster Island
Ouro
Thus concludes my nightly dose of smarminess.
*For the record, I see no reason AV's shouldn't work in DA for those that want them. -
You do a server inventory and discover that you have 323 individual creations going all the way back to May of '05, most in the low 20's range, 90% not logged on in years, and your 1st thought is to roll a new concept...
Before you even open your eyes in the morning, the word 'component' springs into your consciouness.
Your dog destroys a chew toy, leaving hundreds of multi-colored threads tangled here and there, and your first thought is 'Jackpot!'
You know exactly what power is being used, just by the sound it makes.
You press your hand flat against a door and wonder why it isn't opening. -
So the little guy is as weak as the Vet pets? Eek...
So, for 800p, I get a 10% influence boost off the 1 minion that falls, since it'll be dead from the AoE's in the alpha immediatly following that.
Yeah, no thanks. -
-
Wow...
I mean, they must be selling them at that price, otherwise why continue to do it.
I do have to wonder though, how many more they'd sell if the price was cheaper.
I won't be buying any vanity pets at that price, for what it's worth. -
Quote:Which is why I'm glad I learned to play this game with a Blaster.I think a lot of people start by playing on easy mode with certain melee ATs and can never seem to get over the learning curve of playing a Blaster (mainly because they don't want to, as you pointed out).
Melee truly is 'Easy Mode' when you learn the ropes 1st on a Blaster.
The edge of your seat, always being aware and thinking, aspect is what brings me back to Blasting. Melee just gets mindless after a few missions of click click click with no concern for aggro or anything.
That said, I really wish posters would start digging into the actual discussions going on, and stop auto assuming that everyone is claiming Blasters outright suck. We're being more vocal now is all, hence the increase in threads.
Pointing out deficiencies in the AT does not automatically mean we 'just don't know how to play them'... -
My favorite is still my Necro/Dark
The synergy there is just so yummy. Of course, I could be partial to this as it was my 1st MM and I loved my concept.
I'm also really enjoying Bots/Storm. Hurricane and Hallways without teamates to upset is really enjoyable. -
Why do you find the need to monitor your 'xp to next level' and 'current debt', at 50?
Just curious as it always amazes me how some can play with so much stuff on screen. I can't stand screen clutter and most of the time, I even remove the Nav bar and just hit N when I need it.
Suffice it to say though, I do think this is related to the bug. As my MM's all have 'bent' trays and getting them to sit properly back in the corner has been... a chore. -
The rollback only cost me the time it took to re-add the salvage and a bit of a shock.
I'd unloaded my whole inventory of salvage and refilled my inspirations, then headed to take down Sentinel. To my surprise, I ended up facing down the EB with a completely empty insp tray. Oops.
Thankfully he fell easily enough.
If I'd lost a DxP booster, or even just a windfall or signature summon or such... I wouldn't be as happy.
