Hehe.
Now we just need the Native American/Tribal gear and we're set! -
Before they go looking at changing the Nukes I'd prefer if they gave the Blaster AT the complete overhaul they've been needing for years now.
Nukes can be looked at while they are buffing Blasters back into the 'Damage Kings' position we're supposed to fill.
The game evolved faster than Blasters could keep up sadly, this power-creep on the part of the other AT's was gradual enough not be noticed... Until now.
The reason why Blasters are becoming few and far between these days isn't due to the Nukes. It's simply because the main reason to pick them before, the massive damage, can now be done much safer by nearly all the other AT's.
Why pick a Glass Cannon when you can have a Bronze Cannon(Scrappers) or a Iron Cannon(Brutes) Or even a Steel shotgun(Tanks, MM's, Corr)
Other than concept/wanting range there is no longer a reason to pick Blasters. Other AT's can dish out the same amount of damage these days... That is unacceptable.
Blasters have been, since day 1 of playing, the main AT I roll. When I think of CoH I think of Blasters. After spending the last year having more burst damage available on scrappers than any Blaster I could roll I simply gave up. This is a large reason why I just went ahead and lapsed to Premium status this week.
Please bring the entire Blaster AT up to speed with the current game. Nukes would by proxy get alterterd for all AT's that use them as a result. -
Interesting...
I watched every episode of win Ben Stein's money back in the day, wish I'd saved them now.
P.S. I'd be satisfied if we just got a feathered head dress finally. -
Is it wrong that while reading that, in my head I added the voices of the Bunkers to go with it?
-
Somehow I knew this thread would live on and on.
Silly ThugOne, don't you know by now just to leave the original so it dies! -
That looks to me to be the most logical choice for the next MM Primary.
Personally, I hope it is. I'd love to have a Beast Master*.
*Mega bonus points if they'd get over the overt PC issue keeping us from getting Native American items! -
Quote:Now there's something I'm guilty of hoarding. The 1st time I grabbed it and read the description on my main Blaster I was looking forward to using it in a pinch. Then whenever I'd think about it I'd decide to save it for a tougher pinch... and a tougher one and... He still hasn't touched it in 6 years!"This is a tough fight, it's worth using 30 seconds of Wedding Band for this."
45 minutes later: "Hey, why am I covered in blue flames? ...Aw, man..."
Yeah... Wedding Band could, in principle, last beyond my natural lifetime given how often I use it, but only if I ever remembered to turn it off when the fight was over. -
Quote:Going further to show that it depends on the character, My Claws/Ele Brute arrests instead of killing. He uses energy claws that he developed a variable density control for. So he can change the density such that it phases through you, making you very sick but ultimately unharmed.I'm the same way; my claws/fire brute? I kind of assume most people he "defeats" don't survive. My empathy/psychic defender? She KOs them and leaves them for the police. My illusion/time controller? He doesn't leave a mark on them, unless you count the psychological scars.
Another reason I love this game. -
When Rocket Board came out I couldn't wait for all the alternative versions, most notably Flying Carpets and Rocks...
600 points is to much for what amounts to a new pose for flight.
I bought the Rocket Board without thought mainly because I had a surplus of points from the buildup and wanted to have the option of not picking a travel power.
I have that option now, so this would really only benefit me on certain concepts. There for, I can't justify spending that much on something so limiting.
I'll have to pass, sadly. -
Blasters are in dire need of more secondaries... still...
I hope secondaries are being looked at as the next round of powers to be created. -
I ran in and grabbed the Trucker badge for my Talsor but then logged out and... with the holidays and all, I never made it back.
Oh well, only a few months until Valentines opens it back up. (if they do this year) -
I'm bad about leaving Super Jump on during combat. I have it bound to my mouse so it's not on my trays. All the other travels powers, I can easily see still on...
I just got over my inspiration hoarding last year, thanks to the CEBR thread. Well, that and the addition of Nurses et al.
I'm still bad about forgetting to switch channels in chat. So I'll be in team chatting away, then switch to Help to answer a question, then go back to chatting away to the team... in Help... -
In 1995 I bought my first Spawn figure, Hoof to be exact, that started the collection.
At one point, I had the set 95% complete, including a few wrong color editions and a misprint.
I wasn't collecting them as an investment though, so they were all taken out of the box (except the miscolored) and posed on my shelves to collect a decade of dust. After 3 years of searching endlessly for a specific one (before Ebay and the like) I got so fed up I stopped.
The 300+ figures all got boxed up when I moved in with my fiance, intending to leave them boxed until I had a suitable mancave to display them in, they all stayed boxed for the 1 1/2 we lived together.
When we split up, her family moved all her stuff out while I was at work, grabbing the 3 boxes of figures in the process...
Months later after the tension had lifted, I inquired about them. She didn't know they'd been grabbed and put in her garage. A few weeks after the move, her parents had a garage sale...
All gone! A decade's worth of collecting, including driving through 3 states once, gone!
Her stepmom had assumed that the boxes of dusty toys were from her stepsons childhood and sold them all for $30!!!
The entire 90's run of McFarlane, minus 3 figures, including a very rare miscolored Clown worth over $150 sold for 30.
It was an accident, me and her stayed close and all, just one of those things.
Her dad felt so bad he ended up giving me a riding lawnmower though.
Since then however, I can't bring myself to even attempt collecting anything.
All that said, I love that this thread has been revived and hope to see some newly aquired figures! -
In a world with 4Chan and the like... A feature like Real ID would be ripe for abuse. What were they smoking?
Thankfully, I've avoided the WoW forums entirely, since I was lucky enough to choose this game over that one 7 years ago! -
Poor CuppaJo...
I still recall the ED debacle clearly. I'd just gotten comfortable with how to slot, the standard 1 ACC 5 Damage in attacks etc, so I was right there with the fumes.
I still haven't seen this, or any forum, go that nuclear in as short a timeframe since then. Felt like the roof was caving in for weeks on here. I refused to believe it was anything more than Jack forcing more of his 'Vision™' on us.
Ah hindsight... looking back, ED was one of the best things to happen. -
Welcome to the fun!!
Someone will be along shortly with cookies. -
I would like to see the Rogues Gallery expanded on.
Ultimately, what I'd like, is to have random named villains appear in all manner of missions, instead of just tips.
Expand the group to have 20 or so more costumed villains/heroes and write code that allows them to attempt to sabotage any mission you are on, except for TF's/Trials.
Wouldn't happen all the time, but every few missions or so, depending on level, a small time crook or big-bad from the Isles would either replace the standard groups endboss or appear mid-way through the mission to attempt to finish before you. By kidnapping the one your to recuse/ grabbing an item first, etc.
So, you run Frostfire and the mission runs like normal.
Couple of days later you run Frostfire but this time Mangle shows up and beats you to the key, forcing a showdown.
You grab a mission to defeat a random freakshow boss from the radio. Only Shock Treatment beat you there and took him out first, now you've got to get the info from her instead.
I understand the code might be impossible to write/ take to much time etc.
However, I wanted to throw it out there anyways! -
I've got nothing of value to add other than;
The pink font is a nice touch! -
Quote:I'm not worried about that.People make stupid decisions even when doomsday predictions don't happen. Just imagine how it's gonna go down when the world does end.
I am curious to see what kind of chaos happens the closer we get to December 21st though. If you thought Y2K was crazy...
I can see a lot of people completely losing it the closer we get. That's why I laugh at anyone that says 2012 is a bunch of mumbo jumbo and nothing will come of it.
I say, it may be mumbo jumbo, it may be mis understood, but one thing is certain. To a degree it will be a self fullfilling prophecy. By the simple fact that we have been inundated with fear mongering for years and years.
The year of Fear is here. Every little thing that happens, every storm, every power outage, every traffic jam, will be hyped as signs.
Hold on to your logic circuits gang, it's gonna be an interersting year! -
MA/WP is wonderfully fun...
Once you get Dragon's Tail that is! -
Quote:Because the movie/show/book would be 10 minutes long otheriwse. Why is it during doomsday scenerio's people always make stupid decisions?
It's called - Stupidity is the only option (warning, tropes link)
Gets all the more frustrating when it repeats. Shows with multiple seasons for instance, Eureka, TNG etc. All end up having a scenario that is so similiar to one already solved by the protaganist that you spend the whole episode yelling at them for not putting 2 and 2 together.
Stupidity is the only option. -
Indeed, it only takes 1 purchase of $5 to unlock chat.
Even that small of a barrier though, gets them in the mindset of; "This is only going to be worth it if I shell out the cash to be ViP..."
Then the feeling in game rams the point home even further.
I'm not saying everything should be free, that would be stupid. But with the Dev stated goal of designing everything for ViP's because we are still their primary focus, I think they aren't getting the true feeling of what it feels like to come on board completely new. That more than a few of the RL friends I talked into giving it a shot, had the same complaint upon quiting, that it felt like the free and premium levels were nothing more than a glorified trial tells me all I needed to know.
Old debate is old though. -
I've lost all the friends i recruited to play as premiums due to the chat locks and general feeling like they don't belong here without paying. I wrote off trying to recruit months ago...

True story.
I once had a character I enjoyed so much, around level 25 his story started to flesh out to include a sidekick.
I created the sidekick and got him to 25, then ended up playing him exclusively for a while. I eventually developed the story to have the 'Hero' be injured and end up passing the mantle to his sidekick.
At level 45 I bought a rename token, buried the hero, and took up the mantle!
Ended up being one of the more engrossing tales I've created over the years.
