    plus better mobility.
  2. Just remember, purple=/= awesome build.

Purples are mainly good for intense recharge builds. Some f/c defense as well.

You'll probably only use one or 2 sets to try and get DP available for when it drops and you need a heal (I dont reccomend "perma" DP but you'll want it perma so you'll have that heal available when it drops and you need a heal)

    Invul is badass. Enjoy it
  3. My invul sits at 48% with one in invince. It isnt DM however. It's FM. Same basic concept though just a bit better AoE. Invul is nasty
  4. Get about 30-35% S/L defense and then grab Darkest Night from the GW patron. Between those 2 you'll be effectively soft capped. Add in Dark Obliteration for good measure, and as the added bonus.

my claw/wp brute is amazing, even though I still prefer my Invul I think.

The fire and ice swords do indeed stay out. The whip, however, in the DS set does not.
  6. And T is pretty correct in the fact that recharge debuffs will tend to screw up your rage stacking, however, at soft cap there isnt too much to worry about in terms of it. Not getting hit = not getting slowed.

Slot a winters gift in your sprint or something to give you a 20% resistance, and you'll be fine. With enough recharge (if going soft cap you'll probably use some +rchrg bonus anyway), 1 or 2 or like...4 slows won't gut your defense. Rage will pop before it gives ya the debuff anyway.

Assuming you dont stack rage, which 3 recharge's do easilly.

SS/SD is a beast to behold. Truthfully.

    Taunt?

Taunt should only NOT be taken if you can't handle the aggro it brings you, IE: Mainly before SO's.

Also, that. you dont need Temp Pro. WE have a thing called Footstomp for mitigation+damage. They don't shoot when they're on their ***. And with all the brutes I have, why WOULDNT I build it just to sit in AE and PL my ruptors and domis?

Elec doesnt have enough ST to take bosses fast enough, so now Mrs Jelley Belley, your Elec/Fire could NOT go +4/8 faster than mine. Have fun trying though.
  12. Wow...I missed a TON by not visiting this thread :-/

Someone sounds like they had their cheerios pissed in. Think Candlestick pretty much said anything that needed to be said. +4/8 is easy, yes even on my lawlbuild.

Love the fact that Mrs Jelley Belley never posted a build on the SS/Fire they don't even have.

And welcome to ignore, Jack Wagon.

BTW - Silas, that pic almost made me spit out my Magic Hat Hex!

Aye. I wanna change sides but I have GR on one account already, no need for it on my other one really. Maybe some day soon. I just much prefer vils over heroes.
  17. Adaptionist, my SS/Fire farms +4/8 behemoths (using AE, of course, since no behemoth farm red side) and dies, once maybe twice. Usually because I'll mob dive with FS down to mitigate the alpha. Other than that, Insps are still your friend and they drop like candy in a farm. 2 purps, and you're fine.

    Stone armor?

stone armor is 37 levels of suck with lvl 38 making you insta tough out of the box, without the ability to jump, fly, or run faster than a turtle.

With investment, you can take an invul, IO it up a good bit, and make it just as tough as stone armor with the ability to jump, run, position, fly, whatever. You wont be relying on a kin for movement speed.

No doubt Stone armor is tough, once you get there and get granite at 38. Then if you can deal with all the -speed, -recharge and -dam it causes just so you can BE that tough, then more power to ya.
  20. Did the build I posted not have EM as the primary? I just said if it's not for concept then I'd go with FM or SS. Thats personal preference.

DB has actually good DPS, and Mace is awesome with it's KD's (reliable) and WIDE cones, DM is better ST than EM.

EM doesnt suck, just "IN MY OPINION" better options. Which I stated, while posting a build for him that doesnt have F/C defense at less than S/L defense and not helping at all.

    Anything else I missed?
  21. I would hapilly run numbers about how FM or Claws or whatnot is higher DPS than EM but I'm sure you can mids it, however if you consider a base of 41 on whirling hands "Decent", when Fire sword circle is 76, and footstomp is 59 (Not to mention the stun is unreliable at best) then I'd hate to see what crappy AoE is.

For reference, Bust from Kinetic Melee (The set everyone seems to think is so under powered) is 52, before even factoring in Power Siphon 5 stacked.

EM, if not played for concept, is bested by almost every other set out there for brute.

Edit: Not to mention a radius of 8, vs 10 and 15.

edit 2: Claws actually has a base of 78 for spin, and a radius of 8 as well, but considering the recharge of 14s it too has better AoE
  22. I posted this in the other thread, and I'll say here again, if you arent set on EM then go either Fire Melee or Super Strength. The build I posted has taunt, the resist shields, NO unstopable, and soft capped to S/L defense which covers damn near 99% of the attacks in the game.

If you arent dedicated to Energy Melee then I can post my Fire/Invul build for you, which actually is over the soft cap to S/L, meaning I can take the Glad Armor PvP 3% def out of it.

Anyway, here's a build for you that will work just fine if thats what you decide. Note: No whirling hands. The damage is terrible and not worth it.

If you are facing an AV, you should have ZERO problem keeping its aggro by punching it in the freaking face.
Granted, and if thats how you play and it works, then more power to you. Still, your slotting for F/C defense on a S/L based slotting/set bonus build is worse than getting into the taunt/not taunt argument.
  24. I kept most the slotting the same, ditched whirling hands, picked up taunt, dropped tentacles, and picked up resist energies. Good place to slot another 1.25% defense.

Also dropped the slotting from the resists (which was giving fire/cold defense) to add more S/L defense. Any Fire/Cold attacks are going to be covered by S/L cap anyway. All the F/C defense was doing was wasting set bonuses.

I took the AoE's out mainly for set bonuses, and mainly cause as Energy Melee, you dont go EM for the AoE of it, you go with it cause it's SUPPOSED to be the ST king, which it isnt anyway. If ya want something with AoE go with SS or FM. Anything is better than EM for AoE attacks.

Here's what I'd do below. Soft capped at 45% with one in invince (which would likely be a boss or AV anyway, and you'll want the extra defense), as well as having the resists taken too. I'm in the anti unstoppable camp too. You don't need it when soft capped, and only thing that kills my FM/Invul is the damn PPD with their -10% def PER HIT.

I'd ditch EM if I were you for FM or SS. But if you have it rolled already, then go with it. It's managable.

  25. Personally, I'd ditch whirling hands and move things around to work in taunt. If you want an uber brute, which invul is easilly with IO sets, then you want to tank. Tanking is pointless without taunt.

    Take taunt. It's essential.
