my frankenstein pastiche:

I had sort of the opposite situation save for the fact that the other people weren't jerks

being a brute on a team with no tank, I was the one tanking...I lead off the big monster and suddenly realize that none of the rest of the team was even on the same side of the map as me

granted, I figured out why later and no one cussed me out, but it was still odd that no one saw fit to tell me that I'd be on half the map by myself avoiding Stompy McSparknut and whittling him down as they hunted zombies

if they had been half as much a jerk as your guy, then I would probably have quit myself

...after more than 7 years of playing as a casual player, as far back as beta's third wave, I've finally joined the ranks of those players who have a character capable of soloing an AV.

Currently, that's while set to -1 x8, but that's still more than I ever expected to reach for the fact of not having much care to try. A basically tried it on a whim today, expecting to be thoroughly trounced, and ended up doing pretty well.

Synapse was the trial, my SS/Will (46 here specced for with 6-slotted Kinetic Crash across 5 attack powers because knockback is fun) took an hour to take him down when he was at -2 and I died twice due to overestimating the combined endurance drain of my powers and his attacks. But did take him down.

Battle Maiden was next, with my character at 47 now and I upgraded a lot of enhancements as well as taking hasten as a power (was reluctant due to the idea of having three end hit powers on one character: strength of will, hasten, rage), and she was -2 again...and she went down in approximately 13 minutes, didn't die at all

The Black Swan, died once right at the beginning, not sure what too and had to start over from almost scratch...didn't die once after that...she was at -1, didn't see how long it took

Malaise went down pretty easy, about 7 minutes

Mother Mayhem killed me once, not sure with what


anyway, I'm sure a bunch of the diehard power players are looking at this like "so what" but I have to say that I never thought I'd get a character up to this level especially not with a build that isn't finished yet


so just a sort of "wow, I actually did it and wasn't even really trying for that"

A single enhancement that allows you, instead of doing bonus damage, to shift the damage type that is dealt by the attack

making a bashing attack lethal, or fire, or ice, or dark

I really don't see a precog set doing anything mechanically different from super reflexes so it could just be a personal decision on how you define super reflexes

would also like a beastmaster power set, but that's down the road

...I'd just like to point out that implying PvP capability like that is probably not the best idea given the status of PvP in the game

This is to help me choose a cover artist for the book I'm working on. Planning on spending a $200 commission on the cover art, plus I've raised enough money for 4 pieces of internal black and white art.

I know there are quite a few artists here. I originally set the contest to end October 15th, but might extend that depending on how many entries there are as time closes. I know I have word from some that they plan to put in entries on the 8th or so, but we'll see.

over all, the RTS stuff seems unfeasible for doing as a project

and yeah, art is the killer...

I was thinking the following:

7 "bloodline" and 7 "forgotten lore" seeds, 5 starter and 2 unlockable each

9 potential "seeds" each generation (6 that are clear and obvious and 3 that look like background characters or have to be unlocked by side quests)

only get to choose 3 of those to empower

would make your party at the end 10 - yourself (multi-thousand years old), 3 thousand-year olds, 3 centuries old, 3 decades old with which to fight the oncoming horde

making it less yuri-ish and ecchi would broaden the audience, but I have to admit, I like yuri-ish and ecchi as long as there's good plot and the interactions are more empowering than debasing

for seeds, right now thinking:

bloodline:
gorgon(snake girl), kitsune/gumiho(fox girl), tengu (bird girl/harpy), oni (monster/ogre/orc girl), shadow (goth/vampire/ghost girl)

demon and angel unlockable

forgotten lore:
chi master, mage, psychic, alchemy, beast-master

technologist and geomancy unlockable


Note, don't own a phone, so not sure how to do that...though, I guess I wouldn't be the programmer anyway...^_^;;;


characters can be recruited by appealing to love (always the most work and most rewarding) or by one of the following three: duty, power, fun/glory (which is most successful is different for each character and will result in possibly higher specialized stats, but less overall power than the "love" option)

for example: Maki the free-spirited peasant girl from the middle-ages period can best be appealed via suggesting the "fun" factor of having super powers....a miko girl: duty and the princess that feels hemmed in by rules: power. Or you can make one or more of them love you.

if I want to make a darker game, the "force" option might be there, but I must admit, I'd never play that path myself....if so, it would result in a dark and bitter twisted version of the character, and probably involve an ending scenario where they turned against you once the world is saved

the main appeal for me is the multi-generational, transformation and cute monster girls

I suppose I could stretch the number of seeds for more monster types too....especially if I use unused seeds to supply enemy-monsters

it would probably also only appeal to a small segment of the population, even if I took out the idea of making the dating-sim aspects kid-safe

I'm sure a few people in the yuri and Transformation interest communities would be interested, but it's not a general populace thing....


so, unless I suddenly find myself with people interested in doing this just to do it, in their free times and hope for payback later...it remains just an ambitious idea

Blood Rose (scrapper Dark/Regen created '04) and her daughter Fallen Petal (controller plant/kin) are basically devouring earth creatures. either from an earlier version of the original sentient microbe, or simply successful at keeping their own minds.

BR was exposed from a suicide attempt about 10-15 years before the rikti war and she isn't really sure if she is the original person or the microbe colony's attempt to recreate the original person

Fallen was born that way since she was born well after her mother was exposed, so she's always been what she is...

so, they're basically "Undevoured"
