Pretty similar indeed. Not exactly the same, but very similar in concept. Darn identical stance with raw fleshy bodies, spike protrusions, and a skull for a head.

    So... pretty!
    So much anticipation ._.

  3. I must also agree. This would be a great addition, makes things easier.

    Sniper Rifle

I assume you'd also take build up? if so, let's just run the damage boost (assault, build up, and 20% in bonuses) through the damage numbers, assuming 3 dmg SO's worth of enhancement slotting.

    Sniper rifle:
    BU active:
    Range: 239.4
    Damage: 561.94

    BU inactive:
    Range: 239.4
    Damage: 389.24

of course these are numbers at level 50. You'll one shot minions, put a huge dent in Lts (one shotting some), and give bosses a bad time.
  5. WIP is a default set tag on your MA arcs. When you're editing the arc, you can change this tag. It's under Story settings -> Story Parameters -> Story Arc Status
  6. 100% here as well. Had to stop and think for a second on a few, but overall a lot of the questions weren't too hard. One that got me was the eastgate one, but then I remembered eastgate park in the hollows, so I went with that.
  7. Proc'd up my Kat/wp scrapper something fierce, especially gamblers cut. All the powers have a chance for lethal damage, and the AoEs have chance for res debuff.
I do not have videos for it, buuut let's just say this.
Gamblers cut hits from anywhere between a bit over brawl damage, to about GD damage. It's a roll of the dice power when it comes to the damage it deals, and that fits perfectly =D

    Buff AR

Could still have the stealth strike bonus, but have it only work on snipes. TD should give + damage to all the attacks.

Also, an absolutely crazy will probably never be used idea I've always had was to make Full auto a toggle Have it last a maximum of 8 seconds, doing RoA level damage in the first 4 seconds and continue after that to a possible double RoA damage over 8 seconds. It roots you while using, and would consume a base 4.5 end/s while active, but darn it would be fun. And camera spins =D

(actually, another game implemented this already in a way, and darn it's fun too)
  9. (ones I've watched through) mini reviews in there as well.

    Already Present titles:
*Gurren Lagann (+) comes off as rule of cool in essence, all the characters are enjoyable to watch, the art design original and goodlooking, with a some good pacing considering how "fast" it's actually moving.

*Neon Genesis Evangelion (-) people will hate me for it, but though it sported some good art and core concepts, it didn't illustrate them well enough and many of the characters were painful to endure.

*Fullmetal Panic (+) Good plot, good diverse characters, good music, good art design, good everything really.

*Cowboy Bebop (+) dark and unraveling story with very well backed characters all taking part in the plot. Good art, great original music.

*Fullmetal Alchemist (+) starts off with some amount of happiness which is crushed quite brilliantly as the series goes on, rendering it very dark and serious while tackling some real dilemmas head on. Sports good music and some good art design.

*Bleach (+) a decent enough adaptation of the Manga with some good music and well ported art designs. If you can handle or skip some of the mad fillers (not naruto bad, it's there) it's a series to watch. The action scenes are normally quite amazing spectacles.

*Death Note (+) a gritty and popular one, we see a single protagonists rise and fall from power. Can be quite intense and interesting with some good art. We don't get too much history backing the characters, but in a plot revolved around the protagonists plans for the future, it can be overlooked.

*Clannad (+) This series really provoked emotions like a good drama should, happy, sad, angry, etc. A quite large, varied, and well developed cast in a slice-o-life style setting that's told very well with good visuals and music.

*Ergo Proxy (+) Not the kind of anime where you get a feel for it from the first few episodes. The plot really expands and unravels as things go meaning a full watch through goes very well rewarded. Bewildering at times, but with some thinking you can work everything out fine and truly enjoy the anime's story, well developed and handled characters, great art direction, and awesome soundtrack (has my favorite Op of any anime).

*Black Lagoon (+) A very dark and deep anime with some good art and amazing characters. the plot isn't a big complex, but its the character's ways of dealing with what the plot throws at them and the way they interact with each-other that truly makes this anime so great.

*Fullmetal Panic: FUMOFFU (+) a very nice break from its parent anime, this sports some classic fun and gags like the fan of immanent smacking and the main male protagonists inability to be 'normal', always stuck in a military super soldier mentality to, in this case, hilarious effect.

*Slayers (+) Amazing long running series that puts a solid spin on the classic fantasy genre adventure. The parody, originality, and unique set of characters and their miss-adventures make this anime a real worth-watch. Great sound and good, though rather varied, art design.

*FLCL (+) This anime is pretty short, but that's good cause too much exposure to this level of zany over the wall hilarity would probably make any mere mortal explode. Great music score, frantic action, and absolutely amazing art direction. The plot is all over and can be hard to follow, but that's overshadowed by the fact that it's just so darn fun to watch.

*Excel Saga (+) goes for a standard 25 ep (+... another episode that some rather not mention, even the creators, actually called "going too far") This anime makes it's gags work via some truly great satire and paraody of the entirety of anime and all its subgenres. The plot exists and moves somewhat through out the anime, but the main focus is pretty much how epically our protagonists can not accomplish much. I have to respect these creators a lot, they had talent in art, and writing. Towards the last episodes, they even gave a crack at none-joke oriented stuff and proved they could really pull it off.

*Girls Bravo (-) Takes harem quite a bit over the edge, focusing too much on the ecchi and not enough on the.... anything else really. The series almost had a concept, but that was quickly done away with. Art is mediocre and music 'meh'.

*Saber Marionette J / J- X(+) Sporting a great cast and very original and well handled plot concept around a civilization of only males who built androids of female form to compensate (don't think of that wrongly, they reproduce via cloning, don't worry), saber marionette J and J - X may have somewhat aged looking art, and the 2nd season (J - X) looks kind of "squishy", but has the sound score and very well done characters. One of the first animes to also tackle the Robots can =?= humans and what 'life' is thing. Deep, inspired, very well developed worth watch.

*Ah My Goddess (+) romance oriented Anime with a unique concept about an ordinary guy who ends up with multiple literal goddesses in his home. the art is pretty good and music wonderful, but it's really just a joy to watch. All the characters are varied and well handled, and it sports a very up-beat atmosphere and *sweetness* with its fair share of laughs and cries.

*Vision of Escaflowne (+) considering it tried to do so much at once, one sometimes at first has to think "naw it can't pull all _that_ off". But you know? it really does. All the characters are developed, backed, and inspired. The plot is epic and complex but very followable, and it has a little bit of everything for everybody from romance to mecha.

*Hayao Miyazaki (+) The man's a genius. Imaginative tails always brought to life brilliantly and vibrantly. I haven't, however, seen Porco Rosso so may not + that.

    Seen through but not present:
*Code Geass (mecha) (+) Gundam and deathnote made sweet love one day and this thing happened, all to be said there. Good art, epic story, good characters, decent music.

*Rozen Maiden (Drama?) (+) Extremely interesting tale about a person who encounters living dolls. All the characters are unique, well developed, and interact very well. It tackles the "life" issue head on very seriously quite a few times with great effect. The plot is very character driven and concepts all well done. Sports some of the best balancing of character 'feelings' I've seen in an anime as well. Good music, great art.

*Spice and wolf (i and ii) (Drama, economics?) (+) lands as one of my personal faves, this anime sports an interesting concept with a traveling merchant who befriends the wolf god of harvest in the village he was passing through. Based on a series of light novels, it suffers some adaptation decay but follows everything pretty well. Its core premise is this merchant and his new partner, and there's lots of economical ranting, but you know? it isn't boring at all, it's actually extremely interesting and I don't even like economics that much. The merchant's little plans to make profit lead to some great stories. The two protagonists are so well developed and have such amazing chemistry that watching them watch grass grow would be more awesome than a giant robot battle in some other animes. The art is amazing, and the sound track is great to boot.

*K-ON (slice o life/comedy) (-) As "cute" and "moe" as this thing was, it was really pretty pointless. The characters personalities were very archetypal to a T, and the design didn't seem too original. Some parts were enjoyable, and when they were enjoyable they're very enjoyable, but too far in-between. The plot was non-existent and the entire show went no where fast. Art is okay, pretty good soundtrack, but quite meandering. + this if you _really_ like cute and/or moe things or that a couple of moments of greatness can carry a series for you.

*Lucky Star (slice o life/comedy) (-) Pretty much the same as K-ON actually, but sporting much more original looking art. Has some moments of greatness but ultimately too meandering. It's, actually, based on the comic panel style that K-On was before its anime adaptation. Perhaps these comic-panel translations just don't do it for me anime wise. Also, good art but mediocre soundtrack (had _a_ catchy song).

*Chobits (drama) (-) Sorry, but on its own legs or compared to its manga, this anime doesn't make the cut. It tackles the "what is life and love" concept via a human and his relationship with a humanoid robot he found. This robot is, however, disfunctional and must re-learn everything, some hilarity does ensue. It's okay, but it definitely focuses a little "too" much on the robot gal. There's a large interesting cast to be had, but they're hardly ever used. Art's pretty decent and the music is okay, but the adaptation decay on this one loses it a lot of points. If I hadn't read through the mangas prior, it might have scored higher.

*DearS (romance/harem/comedy.. thing) (-) I don't even know why I watched through it by the time I was done. Nothing really happened accept the gloriously promoted objectification of women. Alien women, but still women. I was going through this hoping for a mini-revolt of sorts among these "slave" girls, but that never happened. One of the characters was interesting, but you see little of her, and everyone else was either painfully generic or just bad period.

Elfen Lied (Horror? Drama) (+) Deep dark and interesting, this anime explores the human psyches reaction to rejection primarily via young girls with a strange mutation that gives them small horns that project invisible arms. The relationship matrix in this anime is pretty sprawling and well handled. The gore and blood is in abundance, but the real hard part to watch is the actual relationships of the characters and the utter turmoil they go through during the anime. Great plot and characters, Very good art, and a decent soundtrack.

Well, hopping into this subjective discussion, I joined the legions for a while with the whole AE PL thing. I tried out lots of combos and concepts that I thought might be fun, and they were for a brief period, but a lot of them were culled from the list of my actives.

Why is this? Well, not some moral choice that "these characters are wrong" but just under the simple fact that leveling was so easy, I thought nothing of what I threw into the ding-machine. A lot of it was simple concept experimentation. I came up with a backstory, ran around busting random mobs to see how they look and handled, then headed out to AE to see how they shape. A lot of the leveling and 'effort' was fruitless, but I did get some characters and builds I ended up liking and sticking with. I still play my Fire/storm corr and ice/psi blaster with great frequency.

They're fun and interesting, and that's ultimately what matters. It's a game, if it's not fun and interesting I probably won't be willing to do it. Before AE I did get more attached to the characters I made, but that's partially because I really scrutinized what I would bother leveling up with. I didn't experiment much because I knew it might be lots of time consumption that could go nowhere. Many characters I made before AE went nowhere fast as well, and were just a general pain for me to play, I ended up deleting those too.
Natural part of the process really.

    To re-iterate:
It's a game, I play it. If it's not fun and interesting, I'm not very willing to do and will probably do away with it when given the chance. For some this means skipping the first 20 levels because they don't find it as fun or interesting anymore, or hopping straight to 50 where there's lots of room to toy around with things and see how the character ultimately holds out.
Is it wrong? well, no. If I don't think something is fun or interesting I shouldn't feel or be forced to do it. We all play game's because we enjoy them on some level. Just because someone enjoys the game post-20 but dislikes the portion pre-20 doesn't mean they dislike the game, they love the game, but not _all_ of the game. Loving _all_ of the game is hard to ask of anyone. PLing gives many people the means to get over the parts they aren't loving.

The people behind the PLed toons or "AE'd" toons and their sometimes apparent noobness is another thing entirely, but PLing in-and-of itself is nothing shameful.

  12. Ar/dev was my first hero to hit 50. It isn't the most synergetic, but it certainly works. You don't get much out of /dev in the team setting, but intelligent use of things like caltrops and tripmines can work wonders in any situation. Guess the key word is intelligent use, as this pair's lack of significant burst damage means you have to keep an eye on things all the time, make sure you're planted at the right position for maximum AoE efficiency, and use all that utility in the sets to as much use as possible.

The pair had several rocky points to be sure, but with recent changes it's gotten a lot better. High spawn sizes with no boss set means you can solo extremely efficiently with your AoEs and secondary. The lack of BU was somewhat compensated for by comparatively extremely large defiance bonuses from your interpretable secondary powers.

I could rant for ever about how well the pairing can do when used right, it's certainly not idiot proof, but I'll save that for the rest of the people here advocating for its viability.
  13. The jet boot's FX seem grossly out of sync with where they should be, the jet FX almost seem to be inside the boot now, instead of coming out of the nozzles of the boot. This only started occurring after i16 as far as I could tell.

This is on a huge body type, editing the costume didn't seem to initiate or fix this issue.

I'll pitch in for Mercs, they keep at range and in your group fly radius, dish out some very nice ST dps from said range, and are great when loaded with procs. /thugs has more on the survivability by a long shot, but that extra durability is reserved for the pets and the bruiser will have to be in melee to deal noticeable damage, on the edge of you group flight.

The same ranged advantage also applies to non-GF scenarios. Also, though it's minor, your medic has a mez-protection in its stimulant, unlike every other mez-protect in PvP which was turned into resist, if it's on you you're essentially immune to mezzes for a while.
  15. Not too much new, but nice info regarding GR, which hasn't been getting much attention because of i16. Nice article =)

    edit: first after announcement.
  16. Getting quite a bit from my pinnacle connection, though there are some grace periods, those nasty red spikes of lag hit nasty for quite a while, causing icons to bug out and animations to be grossly out of sink to what's really happening. KB powers are especially problematic and cause some seriously wack rubber banding.

    Location: BC, Canada
    ISP: Telus
    Problem: mentioned above.

Eh, yeah, it's still fine all around for setting up most builds, but it's missing PvP IOs, and the recent overhaul of the dominator archetype and all its powersets. That entire AT is out of date on mids atm.
  18. I'd save some speculation 'till we see how /Thermal is handled on the MM, sometimes powers are tweaked, though I do imagine it would stay the same.

For higher level PvP, I'd say that ninja/thermal would handle very well. Solid utility (no one trick pony-ness to get butchered by DR) and pets don't get heal Decay like you do. Its ability to boost damage via damage buff and resist debuffs will be of much benefit to /nin. Forging your ninjas for a wonderful ST damage slaughter house =O

plus, you'll be the proud owner of ninjas.. on fire. Can't get much more awesome than that XD (Though I'm thinking of rolling zombie/thermal, if we can make anything remotely dark out of fire. Purple/black flames would look aaaaaamazing on them)
  19. It all seems fine all around, but I'd think about changing your IOing in dark servant. It's not providing good bonuses for you, and it's got a hefty downtime unless hasten is up. You want that little guy up as much as possible, so slotting 4 clouded senses in there(focusing on the tohit-debuff/recharge aspect of the set) and then having 2 slots to suit to taste is a good idea.
his mezzes are handy, but they're not nearly as potent or valuable as his massive debuffing potential.
  20. Seems okay, I especially like the way the head turned out, at least from that angle. It always confused how the armored pads option for the body and legs seem so utterly... different. I'd probably look for a more compatible torso pattern, or find a new leg pattern.
  21. LtZerge

    Lady Lylith

Very fitting off our Succubus overlord, wonderful pose and composition =O
I'm sure scoot will love it =D
  22. Necro/dark may be a very good option. Its primary/secondary stack very well for some amazing lockdown and debuffing power, a handy heal in you TG and T9 secondary pet. and you can (if you have the money) get 4 pet aura IOs that can slot into soul extraction and add to the survivability of your pets quite a healthy deal, but it's be no means needed.
    Positives:
-Great lockdown and debuffs, thus plenty survivable
-Active enough to suit your needs
-Pets all work well with your secondary
-Zombies and GK really do make up for that lack of damage in Lich.
-Pick up TP friend, not only for its already present convenience, but to stealth in and Port your fluffy into the mob to soak up a bit of the alpha and lay down some great debuffs.

    Negatives:
-Your heal is a PBAoE and a small radius so your melee henchmen may not all get hit with the green numbers when needed, but your T9 Fluffy has a normal Radius twighlight grasp that does help a good deal.
-Melee pets can be hard to manage, and GK may cycle ranged attacks more often than you want. With your lockdown/debuffing power you should have some leeway time to micro manage them though.
  23. I decided to try it myself. This is quite odd, because I never use binds like that I never noticed. My macros and manually entered ones work fine. Known bug?
    even if so, /bug it.
  24. Well, indeed, I'd say if your current Leviathan attack chain is mopping the floor really well as you get into the mob, then there isn't a need to shift over to Mu mastery for its AoEs. Mu mastery's AoEs work well when the mob is clumped around you already and less overall damage then all the cones in Leviathan.
    + Points though:
    Mu:
-Both AoEs (ball lightning and fences) are easy to use in melee range.
-Fences has a -kb component along with its damage and immob, which may be a blessing or a curse. It can keep enemies clumped and allow you to use burn more effectively, but your KD powers won't provide the mitigation they usually do.
  25. ... there are two more on either side of it, but their centers are far enough off not to be in the pic.
