    You're asking the developers to change the fundamental design of the game, a design they are only now reaching. I doubt you will succeed.

    I don't know if there can ever be a game designed for casual players because I don't think there will ever be a game designed BY casual players...
  5. I'm sure one could street sweep to level 50 without ever fighting a boss. So grouping is not being forced.

    EDIT: Remember they are NOT rolling back the increased HP and XP of bosses that is currently on Test.

    Are you in Europe? If not, when would you ever be driving at 100 MPH?

    The game is too easy. Plenty of people have already left because the game is too easy.

    Why should their $15 be any less important than the people threatening to remove their $15 if the game gets harder?

    Preference for soloing or grouping has nothing to do with casual vs advancement driven play.
  8. Thing is, fighting at your own level you will, eventually, gain NEW levels and powers that may make gaining XP easier. You'll also get enhancements.

    Presumably the benefits you get from those are greater than you get from CoH.

    I'm not married. I don't have kids. I don't come onto this site complaining about how I don't get tax breaks or child allowance.
  10. It's a mistake to assume the prime function of the respec trial is to fix broekn toons. People starting alts and new characters today KNOW they will have three respecs. This means people are not just doing the respect to fix mistakes. Respec has become a key to build strategies. Have a power you get at level 12 that you know will; be useful for the next 10-15 levels but not after. You no longer have to agonize over taking it (even slotting it!) you can take it and just respec it out post-24.

    If respec were even easier than it is now we wouldn't just have Flavour of the month builds we'd have flavour of the level builds!

    How can you afford a computer capable of playhing CoH if you can't afford $17 a month to play it?
  12. After a year running I think an increase to the base fee of between $2.50 and $5 would not be out of the question. Despite being a ways off CoV should arrive around that time. A subscription fee of $17.50 that covered one game or both games (if you buy both products of course) doesn't seem extreme to me.

  16. I made a Defender (Emp/Dark) two nights ago and have soloed to level 5 in only about 3 hours of play. And I have built this character to be a support characrter in the future so I have taken Aid Other (despite soloing) and once I hit level 6 I plan to take nothing but pool powers.

    That said it's been a breeze. I've died precisely once so far when I jumped a group of minions 2 levels above me. Now, my next mission is in The Hollows so I think I'll street fight for a level or two before I head there but I really can't see what the fuss is about. I don't mean to offend anyone but I have not had a really hard time.

  19. But Daias, you are overlooking the value of an advocate customer. If you have someone playing who so enjoys the game they actively work to recruit new customers for you they are actually REDUCING your expenses by decreasing your marketing costs.
