I'm sorry, I said I would stay away, but this troll is too much. If you need someone else to babysit your pets, you are a bad MM, plain and simple, regardless of whether or not the ridiculous fact of a 'healer' in this game.

But this is talking to a trolling brickwall. So please go back to your other game that requires healers and stop trolling the players here that want to help players and give sound advice.

PS. Earth Control has better control then Fire Control.

This is my last post in this thread.

I agree, and I feel bad for contributing to this thread, especially since magicj has a history of these type of arguments that all almost seem to be borderline or just actual trolling.
  3. Apparently, to a certain longtime FFer that has randomly decided to return, FF bubbles are worthless to a team and if you need them, you should l2play and reroll your toon.

    ● First of all, because they're not spending time giving out bubbles no one needs, they can spend they're time watching the fight and directing their attacks where they're most needed. For example, If a healer sudden gets some dangerous aggro, the MM can direct the bots at it or use Provoke to grab the aggro. That'll do a lot more to save the healer than the little bubbles will do.

    ● Secondly, the MM can use their personal MM attacks and vet attacks to contribute to team damage. I'll grant you this damage isn't vast, but it's better than passing out bubbles that no one needs. And the OP stated clearly the team did great with no bubbles.

    ● Third, the MM can use Repair and Aid Other to keep his bots operating a full force. This will again provide extra damage which is better than useless bubbles no one on the team needs.

    ● Fourth, by skipping the little bubbles the MM frees up two slots to take other types of support powers that may actually be useful. An example of that could be taking Recall Friend and Resurrect.

And no, body guard mode is not better than PFF. But the two compliment each other nicely. It's a relationship somewhat like an Ice Tanker with Hibernate.
Actually bodyguard mode IS better then PFF, it doesn't internalize your defenses and prevent you from influencing the battle, either by commanding your pets OR supporting them. Also you can't provoked while PFFed, and you do know that your pets lose supremecy as well correct? so they lose damage and tohit when you hit PFF.

Also pets are squishy, and have very low health, AND aid other and repair are both ST and one has a long cooldown, How are you going to outheal AoE damage since your pets are lacking in defense without the bubbles?

Resurrect? Since when is that needed if the entire team is bubbled? You do know that you can convert 3 of any insp into a wakie correct and pets cannot be rezed? And since fitness is inherent, there should be no problem to fit everything along with the bubbles if you really did want those secondary powers, so that premise is completely shot.

And lastly you keep assuming all teams are the same and need the same amount or lack thereof of support.

I'll grant you that many FFers don't know this. They skip PFF on their masterminds, grumble about knockback, etc, and pass out bubbles no one needs.

But a well built, well played FFer should be up with the scrappers, brutes, and tankers in terms of survivability, all while helping the squishier toons to survive as well.
A well built MM that takes the bubbles, buffs their pets, abuses bodyguard mode and doesn't rely on a power that renders their primary mostly useless due to the need to reposition their pets and the wonky AI that pets currently have, and can still provide buffs to the team is much better then your bubbleless FFer.

I'll take my +75% resistance as long as I keep my pets alive, hence the bubbles.

And its funny how you can just say that a team doesn't need bubbles for defense, without any evidence OR how you assume all teams are built the same.

PS: Stop trolling this game, especially since you spent all your time in the 'other' game saying how terrible this game is. And I can see how you get your current mentality. That 'other' game prides itself around everyone just building for themselves, well we don't do that here, support/buffs sets actually exist here and your self-only mentality isn't going to change it.

So a what would a MM do instead of using the bubbles? Sit around and force bolt and repulsion bomb things to death? Their personal attacks are laughable, and MMs with dead pets don't do much damage.

EDIT: And you know what is better then PFF for MMs? Bodyguard mode with softcapped pets.

Castle had already stated the problem in the past, the burn patch is using the new burn patch pet (which is a much weaker burn patch) for the missile patch, which is why it doesn't cause fear and has much less damage.

Lets hope it gets fixed soonish.

I personally don't like to team up, *especially* with PUGs. I've tried it, it's not fun. Aside from my nearly supernatural ability to join groups lead by Build Nazis, I have a very low tolerance for juvenile behaivior. Player X may think that "off color" comment or that macro that makes their character look like they're air-humping are funny. I think they're usually a good reason to use /ignore.

In any case, if the devs wanted to FORCE people to get a team for this arc, it should have been a TF. Since it isn't, people have the expectation that it should be possible to solo it. I haven't run this mission since the last patch that changed it. The two times I have run it, I had to use both of the tactics the devs apparently decided were "not working as intended." IE, pulling him out of sight of the clones, or focusing on killing clones until they simply stopped spawning, *THEN* dealing with Trapdoor. Neither of my characters that has ran this mission appears to be capable of killing clones faster than they can spawn, so attacking Trapdoor directly proved pretty pointless both times. And for my zombie Mastermind, trying to get him into the lava would have been counterproductive - zombies are a lot more flammable than Trapdoor is.

It doesn't matter though. I don't intend to try running the mission again. It's clear that the devs don't want "players like me" to participate in the Incarnate system. The Alpha slot is only barely possible to do solo in any case. I'm sure that they will follow the same bad example as "that other game," and that future Incarnate slots will flatly *require* a TF to unlock. (And quite probably that each one will require all the Incarnate slots that have been released up to that point to even attempt.) I already quit another more popular game, precisely *because* that's how the entire endgame worked.

I find it mildly ironic that the one thing that looks likely to cause me to quit playing CoH is the "new endgame" content that is supposedly meant to give "veteran" players more to do.
And yet, in all the test, you don't explain why the opposite must be true.

And you start ranting and making assumptions about what is going to happen.

Its funny that people keep trying to compared this system to other endgame systems and content. They would laugh in your face at how easy and simple it is to get all the 'endgame' stuff that apparently is so hard for a few people.

And if people are so against "endgame' stuff, why are they so intent on making sure they can do it if they don't want to do it because it offends them that it is part of an 'endgame' system? They told us that this stuff is for people that want more challenge and endgame content, so if you aren't intreasted in it, why are so you intent on complaining about it? I guess the rest of the game is gone now the system is in place and we didn't get ANY non-incarnate content this Issue.

All I have to say is this, "Adapt, or Don't Do it" and the D0000M about future content is amusing.

IE. and its rich that the example is an MM having trouble, one of the Kings of soloing, I'm sorry if you can't do it on an MM, its not the content, its you.

Its not all tankers, its just JB (and a few others) that want to be god inside the game, and think that is balance.

Times like those are also when -regen is most important, almost nothing is worse then doing fine killing those AVs and then getting stuck watching them regen most of their health back when they pop their Tier 9 powers, while you are still wailing on them for minimal damage.

Had a couple LRSFs fail on Statesman just because the team couldn't kill before Unstoppable recharged again and would just keep regening his health back during it. Killed all the other AVs perfectly fine.

Sleet can be easily double stacked for -60% resistance with some recharge slotting and hasten. Powers that use pseudo pets can stack with themselves.

Sleet itself lasts for 15 secs and and the debuff lasts for 30 seconds. With a base recharge of 60 seconds, it is very very easy to double stack Sleet, it would make more recharge to triple stack, but its possible.

Sleet can also take the achilles heel proc for more -res, something that Sonic/ can't do.

Everybody wins. As you can see in my previous post, in last night's raids I received rewards for 127 out of the 144 mitos; it's not perfect, but it's a lot better than ignoring 24 yellow mitos per raid because you're a blaster.
We did that in the past, nowadays, we skip at most one bloom if the raids are running a bit long. I was only speaking about the incorrect fact that "Virtue" somehow has unorganized and chaotic raids compared to a smaller server.

And yes we now spread out the teams in order to allow everyone to get a chance for shard drops.

The new TFs should die in a fire. In fact, they should die in several blue overlapping non-resistible nanite damage fires, buffed by Bobcat's Vengeance.

I'm sorry that you cant just stand there in one place and wail on an enemy ad infinitum. I'll take something that requires a very minimum amount of intelligence over something that is a giant sack of HP that needs to be DPS down.

Uh, Virtue Raids are mostly lead by a core group of raid leaders and attended by a large but veteran group of players.

PS. You don't end up running 2 - 3 raids (on rare occasions 4) without being efficient. Yay for days when we skip two blooms.

I see the Incarnate system as new content for our level 50 characters. And here I am now playing some characters I haven't playing in years and having a ball. Doesn't feel like any kind of End Game at all.
Having an End Game and being an "End Game" type of game, are two very different types of things. The only type way this game would become the latter is if the devs decide to only develop content for it and disregard developing as much content for lower levels, as well as balancing the game around it like other games do, instead of across all level ranges.

Considering that the devs in this very issue have developed alot of content for lower level content along with the end game incarnate stuff, I don't have any worries.

Edit: and yes this issue has breathed alot of life in my other level 50 alts, and I love the changes in attitudes for running TFs/SFs, I have seen fewer and fewer speed runs TFs.
