  1. This is a nice simple concept to IO toons for free:

Find the IO you want and then look up it's recipe. Let's say you pick something that costs 20 million crafted and say 8 million for the recipe. With salvage thrown in the IO costs say, 11 million.

Next, bid on 10 of the recipes and 10 of each of the salvage ( should total 110 million in this example). Come back later that day or the next day ( or when ever they all fill) and craft all 10 of the IOs. Now sell 9 of the IOs for 14,xxx,xxx so that any bids at 15 million or higher should buy your IO. 9 x 15 = 135 million, 135 - 13.5 = 121 million influence. 121 - 110 = 11 million profit PLUS the IO you saved for yourself. ( note any sales above 15 million that you get would be even more profit).

Using this method you can get most of your IOs for free and even make influence on top of that to eventually buy the ones that don't have huge margins between crafted and recipe.

    Which is better?

On my desktop i have 4 gigs of ram on a dual core 2.6 ghz machine with a geforce 260. I can run UM settings pretty well on 1024x768 ( I haven't updated my monitor yet).
  3. I'd say WP or Invul since both are fairly sturdy and both have aggro auras.
  4. Reichsman is who he is because in that parallel universe Cole was for whatever reason allied with the Nazi party - the nuts and bolts of how and why are just filler. He is a Nazi because that is the particular comic book story being told with that character - the well known and liked main character as an evil nazi instead.
  5. the simple more elegant solution is to undo the ***** up the devs made when they added merits to the system : all TFs that grant over 20 merits would be reduced by 20 merits and also grant a random roll just like they used to.

Merit costs would also be reduced some what to handle the decrease in merit generation.

The devs simply messed up when they created the merit system in the first place by removing random incidental supply. This wrecked havoc on the market supply.
  6. hit the find button and / or expand the item in the top right window - this should display the correct bids/sales numbers.
  7. As far as drop rates go the only real thing that would help much is to add random drops back to TF/SFs and reduce merit rewards by 20 for each TF that has over 20 merits ( so you'd get X merits PLUS a random drop. Any TF/SF less than or equal to 20 merits will still be merits only.

This will help the pool C drops come down a little bit as well as help the supply at various level ranges.

Also merit prices could be lowered to help increase non shiny item supply in the market.

    SD - Grant Cover

GC costs almost nothing to run, so skipping it on the basis that you need endurance is an error.

GC is one of those powers that would be amazing - if more people took the power and happened to team together.

Numina End/Rech, on the other hand, is total Pool C vendor trash . I bought a whole bunch at 55,908 just to get the numbers down from 50-ish per level to around 20 per level. (I don't know why, I just did. )
one time I bought every single numina end/rech from level 30-45, just so i didnt have to scroll past them in the damned window anymore.

It was cluttered up again in a week
  10. meh 10k AE tickets only takes a few hours to acquire.
  11. opps I did mean tickets , I don't do the save merits thing and I always roll 30-34 with the random rolls.
  12. steadfast -kb, steadfast res/def unique, karma -kb, kismet +tohit, regenerative tissue unique, various eradication and basilisk gaze pieces and probably one or two more I'm forgetting.
  13. Figured I'd try this and see how many people actually bother - just hope I dont get banned or anything. I'd epic facepalm at being banned for giving away influence.
  14. what you really gotta do is get like 5 versions going at once, with each one having 2-3 names on it that are different than any of the other versions and intermixing the other 2-3 names. So sez @cyvert
  15. toggle auras that give buffs tend to fire off once a second with a buff that lasts slightly longer than a second (to cover server hiccups).

  17. I'm pretty sure Burn is a better DOT than SC in some cases, but not on average due to the terror burn has. If an aoe immobilize does get made available in GR then burn could be on par with SC for DOT.

    Tank Farmer

+con foes (higher than 50) dont seem to increase in hp, but the damage you do is decreased instead. If your toon has significant +damage, you can offset the issue of +con taking less damage to give you similar kill times on farm runs.

Shield/fire/pyre is probably the best option for multiple AoEs, though I think mace has more cones than fire has pbaoes if you dont mind positioning for maximum effect.
  19. I'd have to say upper middle class would be around 5-10 billion, that would be similar to 75k-200k a year income professions. 15-20 billion would be similar to folks that might make 300k-1.5 million a year and that would be high class. Above them in the real world would be a good amount of wealthy folks that are corporate CEOs, various celebrities etc. In COH terms this area would be 25 billion to say 40 billion, and nearly the tip of the iceberg. Then you'd have the true bill gates like people that have more than 40 billion, of which there is probably a fairly small amount.

Myself, I tend to range in the 15-25 billion range depending on spending habits at the time.

Practically speaking, anyone that can make more than say, 400 million a month, would pretty much be perfectly capable of acquiring anything over some time without much hassle. They wouldn't be *ahem pardon the euphemism* able to 'just throw it in the bag', but people do have lives outside of COH while others of us may not be as busy.
  20. It no trap- you not strong enough yet! Go back try again later!
  21. awesomesauce farm arc#400438 - it's so awesome it farm you! Recommended settings +4/x8.
  22. I thought you cant do DB/stone?

Anyway - My stone/ice tank runs soft capped to s/l/e/n out of granite but that is a heavt IO build filled out in the 30s. Prior to that, it's a little squishy against non s/l damage. After 32 and Granite - I rarely need to use it, so I don't. I use it as an AV/GM solution or against heavily biased non s/l/psi damage for the extra resistance.

For normal travel I use runspeed bonuses and ninja run ( I hit 65 mph with nr + sprint ). I did take tp later in the 40s, but I did most of my leveling in the AE so I'd get up to ITF level faster.

that way the dorks flipping wouldnt be able to flip it every 2 seconds.sure they still would be able to flip but not as fast as they like and it would bite into the money they make.wouldnt be able to stop them just like farmers but it would slow them down
Sev, buddy, you have no clue what you are talking about. Flippers have a tendency to reduce prices. If and IO sells between say 5 million low and 30 million high when a flipper enters the playing field that bottom value might go up to 6-7 million but the top value will likely come down to 15-20 million. Why? How ? Flippers must list lower than the going rate in order to sell competitively. This means that the items begin being offered at lower prices than the high values. Buyers can bid creep and get the IOs for less influence, if they are not lazy.

People like you tend to misunderstand how the market works and you assume that every person that plays the market tries to jack prices up. Fortunately you are wrong, because the market doesn't work that way in most cases ( IOs with very limited supply are subject to different rules) .
  24. The devs just simply lack the resources to make AE 'reasonable'. By reasonable I mean, the ability to prevent exploits preemptively. Such a thing would be obtained by having a group of players on the inside so to speak, that are good at making exploits. Those players find new exploits ASAP and the devs can patch things up.

Granted this would have only worked to their PR benefit during the design of AE and could have prevented alot of the after issue nerfs. It would fail now because reworking the system after the fact doesn't quit work as well due to a volatile player base and comes off as harsh nerfs.

By hiring professional magic players, wizards of the coast was able to get a player's perspective on potentially exploitative cards during development. This works there because magic is always in development, here AE has been developed and released already.

The best thing they could do is try and find some medium ground to stand on as opposed to simply nerfing things ASAP ( some things such as the MM exploit need to be an ASAP no middle ground decision however ) .

For example the latest issue - excessive allies in missions. Simply nerfing all allies is a horrible idea, the devs know this and have stated as much. What middle ground can be found ? I wouldn't worry about catering to the whiny masses of players that want the fastest, easiest exploit possible - a role which alot of the people that come here and complain fit into perfectly. No, instead the devs need to decide what amount of allies with what functionality is actually 'acceptable and how to handle cases that go beyond that level. This is all well and good , but may not be possible code wise, or just not quick and easy.

On' the players side of things, people need to realize that yes, certain things may get nailed in the cross fire for the time being but also that hot fixes are not intended as a permanent solution.

The lack of foresight and the lack of malicious minded devs is something the team has a hard time compensating for. I rather doubt many of us here could outwit a group of tens of thousands of players so easily either.

I got a minor start on it just to see if I could get this to work. Feel free to add prices to it for other purples.
