  1. i generally keep 1.5-2b on as many as 12 toons. Right now when ever I get more than 2 b on one of them ill toss it to my 88 toon and burn it.
  2. 1b is the most id take at once from a single person, simply because that way i probably wont have to fiddle around with tracking above the cap.

I've gone from 8 million in issue 9 to 25 billion in issue 19 - i dont think i could stand farming that via drops lol.
  4. first 345m has been invested - return in 2 weeks and see how it all turns out!
  5. Like I said, shoot me an ingame email @Cyvert to work out details!

    Awesome shop skills goat!

Me and Fulmens burned another billion for guardian 88s today, up to 41m prestige!
  6. We'll it gets better goat! I'll be burning the profit I gain in my guardian branch of the 88s!

People interested message me in game @Cyvert.
  7. lulz so this whole thread has been because he wants a 7.5% recharge bonus ? Take a APP hold power and use basilisk's gaze at 4 slots. Heck of a lot cheaper than a pvp set.

I believe 6-12 months on a character should bring this level of development, this level of treasure. I believe it will help the City of franchise.

2 billion per enhancer, and let me say what has been imlied from the beginning, 1 billion per enhancer, is too much. It discourages people who play to develop characters. It is only encouraging to farmers. The Devs keep saying they want to encourage people playing content. I take them at their word. They have recently instituted measures that indicates they are puuting their skills behind their stated positions. I am sure they want to examine how the out of control market economy is not helpful or useful to a newb, nor will it be in the future. It is set up for the benefit of Farmers and Marketeers.

I have already outed myself as someone who helps manage car auctions in RL. (one of the reasons i hate doing auction work in-game) Guess who profits from auto auctions? Car dealers. Dealing in olume, with experience, knowedge, mechanics, tow trucks, a whole system. Guess who loses? the average consumer. With one transaction, up against experts dealing in volume. Guess who the Devs in City of need to side withto increase customer happiness? The Car Dealers? NOPE. So the consumers? DING. Yep, the City of Devs need to make market modifications so that recipes and salvage are available to average consumers at reasonable rates to encourage game happiness. Sorry farmers, you are a severely limited group of the Devs marketing strategy. And, even nerfed (for the umpteenth time?) we all know the farmers will land on their feet with a new trick. So, the devs need to help the little guy, the new player, the average consumer. and get rid of stupid high Market prices for I/Os. In my opinion.
I'll give you a real world example of you. Mr. Car repair shop manager likes shiny things. Mr. CRSM sees Jay Leno rolling around in his shiny expensive car and says "I want!" .

Problem : Shiny expensive car costs 1.5 million dollars , Mr. CRSM only makes 45k a year.

Your solution : Put price caps on shiny expensive car so anyone can afford it.

Real viable solution : Earn more money so that shiny expensive car is within your spending range.

The issue is that the real viable solution requires effort that many people aren't willing to put in to achieve their goal.

The market is not supposed to look friendly to every casual joe because the market is 1) PvP and 2) not a store.

Complaining that you want to own a garage comparable to Jay Leno when you only make a fraction of what he does is complete and utter non sense driven entitlement issues. There is no logical argument you can successfully use to justify that kind of a position.

Showing up at a new car dealer and asking to buy a new Mazeratti or some such with only 10k in hand doesn't work.

PvP and purple IOs are the shiny expensive cars of CoH and no, not everyone should get 5 for creating a new character .
  9. My sig is /scarcasm.

If I somehow manage to lose money ( due to market supply doing weird things for example ), I'm not 'poor' and can return the original amount easily.
  10. This is a simple idea : you give me money and two weeks, I'll give you more money than you gave me. I'll keep 10% of the net gain you get the rest plus your original input ( you put in 500m - I boost that up to 700m - profit is 200m - Ill take 20m you get 680m back ).

So any interest in this idea ?

However, I do have CoF on my Dark Tank as a late-pick power, for the simple reason that it's effective on stun-resistant mobs like the ones you'll meet in the ITF. I use it strictly as a situational power, but as such, it has its uses.
the -tohit effects non minion level mobs and can get you closer to the essential 45% def softcap by acting as pseudo defense.
  12. When I first rolled my DA tank I was certain OG would be the way to go. However I decided to try Cloak and never looked back.

It shuts down minions same as OG but it also has -tohit making it useful against non minions and doesn't drain your hp.
  13. I need some tips, apparently you guys are making much more per day than me (granted I don't farm much these days). What are you guys flipping to make billions regularly ?

    I'd guess I make 400m - 1.2b a week at best.

You missed my point. If I spend 'years of gaming' running nothing but low-mid level content then I cannot expect high level rewards.

If I spend all my time doing things that are not efficient at generating rewards I want - I am wasting my time.

To get what you want you need to do the things that get you to that goal as fast as you want to get there.

You absolutely cannot expect a random number generator to spit out exactly what you want when you want it. That is why you need to either farm drops, influence or merits.

Influence and drops a very efficient if you are willing to use the market to maximize their worth. Merits are designed for the lazy folks that don't want to bother working for something at a rigorous pace .

If you do not like the pace of merit rewards or the randomness of drops - you then have one option : farm influence.
  15. This thread is awesome.

B_C : You irrational concept of entitlement is flawed, and yes it IS just entitlement. It is not a concept of what everyone 'deserves' by any stretch of the imagination. Why not ? Because if you look at pretty much any game around - the rarest, most difficult to acquire stuff takes time and effort via some set of specific tasks.

If you blatantly refuse to do any of the tasks that are likely to produce the results you want, obviously you are doing it wrong.

Assuming you want a pile of pvp IOs I have to assume you pvp ? Those things really aren't worth much in pve, certainly not 2 billion each.

If you pvp, you are not a casual gamer.

If you don't pvp but still want pvp IOs - you are not a casual gamer.

Also pvp IOs are leagues different than SOs, the enhancements the game is designed around.

The market is simple to use : get stuff and sell it. Then buy stuff.

You can play the game and then sell drops at the market - this doesn't really take you away from the game because it's just like selling at a vendor except you can make ALOT more at the market.

Purples and pvp IOs are beyond the scope of average and casual gamers - if you want those rewards you have to go hardcore to some degree to get them.
  16. I'm a fan of shield / ice because ice melee is lower on damage while shields helps improve that. Ice patch also helps lower incoming dps to give shields that added survivability before you fully round out the toon with pool powers and IOs.

Invul/ice is too laid back for me - no damage aura or +dam and no interesting tool powers in invul. It will certainly survive, but that you'll be sleeping just like the mobs in Frozen Aura.
  17. Just last week impervium armor end/rech was selling at 5 million and now it's at 30 million , it must be the ebil flippers! Stop them !

Fond memories yes, but Mom is uber double agent spy chick and probably does things for specific reasons.

    Wait...casual players dont use logic...

  21. so what happens when extremist cells get ahold of this?
  22. so i decided to siphon extra influence into prestige and im now at 36.9m prestige. No idea where that puts me in ranking though.
  23. My 88s on guardian are now at 30.8m prestige and around number 75.
  24. Willpower and Invul are pretty similar in power level at the high end of the spectrum due to IOs and pool powers.

The sets on their own with no SOs or only SOs will both handle s/l from orange/red mobs almost indefinitely. Invulnerability will fair better against defense debuffs due to higher defense and more resistances. Willpower will handle non smashing/lethal damage better than invulnerability in most cases due to having better resistances and high regeneration.

The taunt auras aren't really a problem because you have taunt and attacking to help out.

The tier 9 in both sets is generally skippable, but with issue 19 coming and freeing up spots they may be useful to pick up since you aren't cutting better powers for them.
  25. Lohenien

    perfect purples

the so called casual player doesn't even use IOs except perhaps commons, so purples are superfluous for them.
