There's a been a lot of teeth gnashing going on about Vines being a subpar pattern. I agree it's definitely minimalist, but I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with.
I'd love to see what the costume sages can come up with this for this simple challenge: Construct a good looking costume using some or all of the Vines pattern.
I'll post up my entries when I get home. Winner gets....um, recognition of awesomeness? Yeah, that sounds good. -
A business wants to make money, shocking!
I think Jetpacks make perfect sense for the natural booster. Then, maybe an issue later we'll get back items for everyone (similar to how the Magic Pack introduced costume change emotes).
Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are a great way to make purchasing GR more worth your money, I think its a good idea and a good business move.
If you like City of Heroes, be appreciative of the fact that NC Soft is working to make sure its profitable and around for a long, long time. -
Lusca should be a Giant Monster, instead she's a Giant Gentle Creature. The one time I fought and defeated the gentle giant she was literally just hanging out by the beach, doing nothing, then she was all of a sudden killed by dozens of "heroes".
I would love to see Lusca attacking bridges or barges, but I'm aware that would be considerable dev work. I propose something pretty simple that would make Lusca at least be doing something evil; put some boats on her tentacles.
Two of Lusca's tentacles could be wrapped around small boats. If it would be possible for these boats to be destroyed when the tentacle is attacked, that makes sense. If not, just have her literally slap us with a boat, which would be pretty awesome.
tl;dr version: Make Lusca act like a Monster, thank you. -
Protector is now listed as "Unknown", could the servers be cycling back up?
The suspense is palpable! -
I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but it's bugged me since I got my first cape sometime around Issue 8.
At the base of the back of the neck directly below the head where the cape and the neck meet there is almost always some inverted V shape clipping going on.
This is really annoying when you have on dark tights with a light colored cape. -
I can't stand the color bleed-through on white masks either and have completely avoided using that color mask. I would love to see this fixed.

Also, good first post and welcome to City of Heroes. -
Customer relations?! They gave a 30 minute warning which is plenty.
You really expect a red name to completely explain to you why the servers are taken down every single time? That's useless because 99% of the time its routine maintenance, the other 1% is hot fixes and issues.
And as I said before they cannot give us a heads up regarding issues because there's still a chance something could bork in the transition to live. -
They can't "let us know" because if something went wrong and they didn't actually release i15, the forums would burn to the ground from the sheer amount of weeping and gnashing of teeth.
In any case, every morning is apt for maintenance. -
This character is pretty much a perma-hover Defender, so while that is an issue I'll take into account, it hopefully shouldn't happen much.

My Trick Arrow/Sonic Defender Weaponizer is a gadgeteer who just created his Wings and Winged Boots for flight. I plan on having a different costume to use whenever he's hovering/flying.
I need a bind, if possible, that goes the following:
-Lightning Costume Change emote changing to my second costume, or cc 1
-Toggle on Hover
So, can someone put that bind together for me, I'm at a complete loss on how to do this. Also, if anyone has done something similar and has suggestions, fire away. -
Just wanted to drop by and say this thread inspired me to roll my own Trick/Sonic Defender, Weaponizer.
He's 26 right now and is a LOT of fun, thanks for the inspiration. -
I agree with the idea that Going Rogue will be released sometime around Issue 16 but will not be Issue 16.
Also, I'm currently typing this while wearing a uniform, so this is a uniformed estimation of release dates -
Woot! Got my invite to T.R.I.C.K. (Thanks Smurphy) and posted my intro, I'm all set for some Trick Arrow pwnage
-
Registered with the T.R.I.C.K. forums this morning for my Trick/Sonic Defender on Virtue but I still don't have permission to view the board.
Can't wait to get on an all Trick Arrow team, that will be amazing! -
I don't think just having "Marvel" in a character name is cause to be generic'd, DC has Captain Marvel and they're Marvel Comics' main competitor.
There was no reason for Marvel Maiden to be generic'd and I hope he gets her name back. -

*smacks Lightslinger's hand with a ruler* Bad! Stop rolling alts!
better?
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed!
Now to pick my three characters to focus on...hmmm. -
[ QUOTE ]
It won't help. Alt-itis is something we all go thru. It's ok to roll up new toons, don't worry
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, it's all well and good until I realized that I'm never getting characters to the really fun stuff. I'm barely even getting characters to 20 before I move on to something else. If I would take some time to focus on a few characters I could get to the really powerful levels. I'm actually afraid that if I continue this I'm going to get burned out playing the same levels over and over.
So, yeah, I agree, rolling alts is well and good, I just think what I'm doing now is actually effecting how I enjoy the game. -
My altitis is on FIRE, if you know what I'm sayin'.
I keep rolling new characters. Concepts are fluttering around in my head. New, awesome names keep popping up in the Virtue Name Watch, all the while past characters are looking more and more sad everyday.
I think today is where I draw the line, no new characters until Going Rogue is released. I doubt I can do it but maybe announcing it in the Rookery will help. -
Cyborg General would work well in place of Justice.

I think it's not so much the holds you want as the immobilizes, which most controller primaries other than Mind seem to have in abundance. Also, if you go defender or corruptor, Dark has that cone of immob. The thing is, the duration and recharge on mass holds is pretty harsh, so you need the immob to fill in between holds if you're going to use a lot of knockback powers.
I went the other way entirely with my four stormies, either pairing it with a powerset that had more knockback yet, or with mastermind pets, who don't complain. I love knockback and loathe immobilization powers, though.
However, I can still team. Storm's got pretty good control powers, so when I'm trying to minimize chaos, I use Freezing Rain and Thunder Clap. In fact, if you slot Thunder Clap up, you can learn to use it as the rain is wearing off, and it will keep any remaining minions stunned until it's time to rain on them again. This is on top of whatever your other powerset is doing. In the case of the storm/energy defender, I do that, then keep things off the squishies. If the tank loses control, then I'll drop tornado, freely toss stuff around with Hurricane and Lightning Storm, etc, until the team can recover. Stormie = safety net, if you play it that way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Eek, I meant Immobilizes, not holds. Sorry about the confusion. I'd pretty much just need the AoE Immob if I go the controller route.
I like the idea of the safety net Stormie, but I think that's also what may have me leaning towards Controller, I'd like to be able to drop Tornado and Lightning Storm whenever I'd like, not just when things go south or I have a nifty corner nearby. -
I have a character concept for a Storm Summoner. I'm trying to decide which AT and my tires have been spinning for a while now.
My first inclination was a Defender. The core of this character is the Storm powers, so it makes sense that Storm should be the primary. However, the uncontrollable KB sounds like it could be bothersome. While I am aware that it can be leveraged for excellent mitigation, it can also be a headache for teaming, as it was on my on Energy/Energy blaster sometimes.
So, to negate the KB debate, I thought I'd roll a controller. Either Ice/Storm or Plant/Storm. I'd be doing this purely to get the holds and would be focusing primarily on Storm.
I'm curious however, how much does Storm Summoning lose as a Controller secondary compared to a Defender primary? Also, this character will pretty much be dedicated to teaming. Controllers are insanely popular so it stands to reason I'll rarely be without someone else doing all the holding I need.
And finally, if I decide I don't really need the Control for the -KB and I don't mind Storm being a secondary, then there's always the Corrupter route for more damage.
tl;dr version, What AT should I roll for a Storm Summoner?
Edit: I meant to say "Immobilize" instead of Holds when referring to the controller powers. -
Probably to signify they're about to steal your endurance.
-
Please everyone, I'm not "whining", I'm not even complaining, just curious!
I've pretty much moved servers, and now my old server has my claimed slots setting empty, had there been a way to move those claimed slots to my new server, great, but there isn't so no big deal.
It's just one of those minor things that irks you, like a minor pet peeve. I see the server list and thing "Well, this (mostly) unused server has 16 slots while the one I play on is full with just 12 slots."
And yes, I'm an altaholic and Victory was full when I claimed them.
Edit in for further clarification: Yes, I plan on buying slots for Virtue and I think they're a steal at the great price they're offered at. -

Yeah, but unlike a regular server transfer you end up with an extra slot on your server of choice.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think you get what Mateo is saying.
If you're going to pay to move a slot from on server to another, don't bother. You can simply buy new slots on the server you want.
Slots are purchasable. Right now. They're available for purchase through the character creation screen from the PlayNC store.
http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Character_Slot
* 1 slot for $5.99
* 2 slots for $9.99 (approx. $4.99/slot)
* 5 slots for $19.99 (approx. $3.99/slot)
[/ QUOTE ]
And I guess Mateo didn't follow what I was trying to infer when I said "small" fee. I'm sure it was no one's fault but my own for not being clear enough.
I'm aware you can purchase slots, I was suggesting that if there were to be a fee involved for moving a claimed slot, it would be a very small one, perhaps $1.99 or $2.99.
The reason for the smaller fee would be that while you are gaining a slot on one server you're losing one on another. The benefit to the buyer would be, if they are in a similar situation as myself, they would at least be able to use the slots they'd earned.
I have no qualms with paying $5.99 (and cheaper if I buy more at a time) for new slots and most likely will once my altitis fills Virtue up. My issue is merely one of annoyance that a server that I no longer roll alts on has all these extra slots sitting around that I could be using on the server I'm active on. -
Yeah, but unlike a regular server transfer you end up with an extra slot on your server of choice.
