Umbral's still around. He was beating himself up trying to remember who had the PERC funds currently actually. He is, however, working full time and in school full time, so he is a /very/ busy umbral fuzz. I just joined up right before Christmas, and I believe DuceyKins is a recent transplant from another server.
We have a bunch of stuff planned so keep an eye out on the boards and on the MOTD of Freedom Events. -

Totally could use your help here on Freedom. I think there's me (newbie), Umbral, and DuceyKins for PERC. Btw, great job last night. We had a blast!

Check the stickied posts at the top of Freedom to grab some channels so you can get to know people in game as well. As great as the forums are, I'm honestly not 100% sure how much of the in-game population uses them. This is a good way to get to know people. However, and this is my favorite... the best way is to know them through playing.
I'm on 10 channels currently, which is maximum, and sometimes they get a little much, and sometimes it is just a nice mixture. Mine are a combination of Public and Private channels, and you can join private ones by invite of the moderator. For Public channels, I would get on Freedom TFs if it has room still, and if not, Freedom TF Chat (TF=task force). Both have a bunch of people who are basically there to look for groups to play with. Other public channels include Freedom Events (big event advertising, some chit-chat, some people looking for groups and monster appearances), RF2009 (no idea what's going on there, but it seemed to be the best place to have a great conversation about nothing), etc. RF stands for Radio Freedom btw (by the way), which used to be the IT channel but it filled up and nobody could join due to cycling membership. Check out the MOTDs (message of the day) on these channels to get updates regarding events and things to know.
You might want to just stand around in Atlas and listen to people advertise their SGs (SuperGroup) and if one sounds interesting, jump on it. That's another great way to get to know people. You can always leave the SG if it doesn't work for you and find another. Believe me. There's precedent. Beast was in the original X-Men, Avengers, Defenders, X-Factor, X-Men again, then on one of the X-Men's split teams, then he went bad. Who knows what he's doing now, but I bet it involves shedding and a litterbox.

For all of those individuals newly come to Freedom, welcome! We are a large community full of diverse individuals with a large variety of interests and activities. Please refer to ongoing threads for individual events, channels, and people looking for new friends and members. Some of the best ways to get to know people are while you're out there fighting (or causing) crime!
There are plenty of channels out there, but by and large they are private. Check the boards for listings on how to contact their mods and what their policies are regarding usage. Events and happenings (PERC and non-PERC) will be in the MOTD for Freedom Events, which is an open and public channel.

The server transfers have given Freedom an opportunity to grow, so make like a Vahz and meet up in Pocket D with other notables to meet and greet! However, welcome to the server! If you have an empty VG, you might want to think about making an alt and joining another VG for socialization... or perhaps just seeing who might be interested in game...?

The only things I recall are using an <ooc> flag or somesuch indicator on channels back when I mushed and surrounding text with asterisks to highlight it as an action. -

I just wanted to give a shout-out and say hey. I've missed you all but I've had stuff going on Monday nights. For a while was at a knitting group and now my RPG group is moving from Tuesdays to Mondays because the MTG people are too loud at the store we play in.

I'm a Floridian who has lived in the state, left the state, and later as an adult, returned to the state. Back in the dinosaur ages, during a trip to Disney I think.. we saw frost. Also, we used to live in North Florida (in Ft Walton Beach) and we actually got parsley snow once. No, it didn't stick, but I think I got enough on my tongue to taste it.
