Howdy folks -- need some stuff explained
I'm not sure if a glossary exists or not but to give you at least a bit of a heads up"
LGFT Lady Grey task Force 45+ level TF that originates in the Ritki War Zone (RWZ)
ITF Imperious Task Force 35+ level TF that origintaes in Cimerora
Both of these are also Co Op Task Forces meaning both Heores and Villains can join ans team together
Lets see already explained RWZ
STF Stateman Task Force 45+ level TF that originates in Indepnedence Port (IP)
MoSTF same task force only done with a number of limit to include NO deaths during the TF and you face a LOT of Arch Villains (AV) including Black Scorpion, Ghost Widowm Mako, Scirocco nd Lord Recluse himself in the final mission.
MoITF same sort of thing as above only during the ITF in Cimerora
a Hami Raid is short for a Hamidon Raid in the Hive .. entrance found in Eden,, usually requires about 50 heores working together to take out the big Jello man and earn either Hami-os ( Hamidon Origin enhancements) or Merits
Mothership Raid takes place in the RWZ and like the Hami requires 3-4 teams working together to take out the protective pylons so you can attack the ship and earn Vanguard Merits
IO Ivention Origin Enhancements built using salvage and recipes either found running missions or purchased at WentWorth (WW)
AE Archetect Engineer the huge buildings located in most city zones where players can write their own missions and plays one created by other plateys

AT Archtype . justa short way of refering the different types of Heores available such as Tanker, Scrapper, etc

Check the stickied posts at the top of Freedom to grab some channels so you can get to know people in game as well. As great as the forums are, I'm honestly not 100% sure how much of the in-game population uses them. This is a good way to get to know people. However, and this is my favorite... the best way is to know them through playing.
I'm on 10 channels currently, which is maximum, and sometimes they get a little much, and sometimes it is just a nice mixture. Mine are a combination of Public and Private channels, and you can join private ones by invite of the moderator. For Public channels, I would get on Freedom TFs if it has room still, and if not, Freedom TF Chat (TF=task force). Both have a bunch of people who are basically there to look for groups to play with. Other public channels include Freedom Events (big event advertising, some chit-chat, some people looking for groups and monster appearances), RF2009 (no idea what's going on there, but it seemed to be the best place to have a great conversation about nothing), etc. RF stands for Radio Freedom btw (by the way), which used to be the IT channel but it filled up and nobody could join due to cycling membership. Check out the MOTDs (message of the day) on these channels to get updates regarding events and things to know.
You might want to just stand around in Atlas and listen to people advertise their SGs (SuperGroup) and if one sounds interesting, jump on it. That's another great way to get to know people. You can always leave the SG if it doesn't work for you and find another. Believe me. There's precedent. Beast was in the original X-Men, Avengers, Defenders, X-Factor, X-Men again, then on one of the X-Men's split teams, then he went bad. Who knows what he's doing now, but I bet it involves shedding and a litterbox.
Welcome welcome welcome!
J-Man- Lieran, if you were Paris Hilton, I'd be the chihuahua in your purse.
How do I access some of these extra chat channels? Inquiring minds want to know.
Hello all. I started playing CoH about 4+ years ago during a sabbatical from SWG. Lasted just a couple months of playing intermittently, didn't really level to anything worth talking about. Just started back up, and I have some questions regarding some of the stuff talked about on these boards and in the general global chat. There seems to be a lot of shorthand, and for someone who is relatively clueless about it, I kinda feel at a loss.
Things like Hami raids, LGTF ... aw hell, basically everything. Is there a glossary to all this CoH shorthand, or should I just suck it up because I am a noob?
Thanks,
