My thought was a BH drop spot next to Arbiter Leery That way we're not creating a "new" transit system (the portal) and we're going to a more central location that is a short hop to Agincourt, Primeva, or Thorn Isle.

Quote:Inconsistent with what? Ever since they replaced the Drop system with the Merit system because of rampant Speed running, They've made it clear they sought different ways to put a throttle on how quickly people could get their rewards.Devs already put timer on regular merits to A-merits conversion, and i'm fine with that.
Further restricting how fast player can spend their rewards, and mind you not all types of rewards, but just only one type, seems to be very inconsistent and shortsighted to me.
We're moving from a system where it would take you 2-3(or more days) to get any Rare recipe to a system where you can get any Rare in 1-2 days.
Whether you see it as a further restriction or not really depends on how narrow your blinders are. Folks with a bit of perspective see the A-Merit system as much quicker and more efficient despite the timers, and they're right. -
I'm pretty sure the folks arguing about whether/what/how things ought to be unlocked are either rapidly approaching or have gone past Noble Savage's Rule #4 in his OP.
The man wants to know what you'd like to see and why, not filter through post after post of your deepest feelings on running TFs or getting Defeat Badges. -
lol Funk is the reason I waited until 5am one day and got my Hero AVs as part of a pickup group with Tsugaru and Beef Cake. Well, that and the fact that I didn't have to team with KOIS.

I'm by no means an expert, but looking at the listing for the laptop, then looking up that video card, the writeup I found says that it is roughly equivalent to an nvidia 9800GT
Which according to Posi's Ultra Mode buyer's guide will allow you to enable Ultra Mode features, but only at lower quality settings. -
Quote:Use the maps we have that are cluttered with so many dots that you can't see the ground unless you zoom in in some cases? Sorry, just don't see 1-3 dots of varying colors to be too busy, especially in comparison to some of the other UI elements we deal with regularly.I'm going to second the "no, too busy" dissent against #1. It's your city: learn it, or read a map.
We're talking about QoL changes here. If they had the attitude you've stated, they wouldn't be doing a merger at all.
Seems perfectly reasonable to me that they could implement this feature in the same way they filter the dots on the minimap. Select for them to be off because you don't like the clutter or dont need them, but let them be there for the people who'd like the info. -
Quote:They do a good job at keeping RMT to a minimum because of measures like that. Spammers used to send tells from trials. That got blocked. Then they sent mail. That got blocked. Now they are pretty much reduced to running around Atlas talking in local in Wentworth's (yes this happens). As far as the tells situation I think (not 100% sure on this) one reason people on trial accounts can't send a tell (though if they could reply to them that would be nice) is RMT (Real Money Traders) IF people on trial accounts could send tells it would make it much easier on RMT. At least this way they can't use a 14 day trial then spam you and CoH/NC gets another $15. Though I will say IF that is the reason I am not sure I agree with it (especially since they do a pretty good job of keeping the RMT to a minimum).
Removing the barrier just means they'd come back and start up again. -
I suppose that's true. Part of my original post that may not have been clear though was I meant for the icons to be only next to the stops they are closest to. So the Icon icon (snrk) would only be next to Steel North, while WW and the Uni would be listed on Steel South.
Maybe you're right about newbies, but I guess I'm in the position where I feel some easily accessible info is more helpful than some buried ultra detailed info. If such were the alternative, I'd say do both. -
I really have only two words in response to that: Central Park.

People have talked a lot about Buildings, and hit most of the notes I was going to. I think above all in that respect though priority should be given to City Services that the cities don't exhibit. i.e. Fire Stations/Trucks and Post Offices/delivery trucks.
The main thrust of my post will be directly contrary to the thread's stated goal, but I think fully in line with the spirit of your request. In short it boils down to the following:
FOCUS ON GREENSPACES
Most of the parks and greenery (brownery in the Isles?) is basically unplanned and undesigned. Simply a matter of filling some dead space with curbstones, shrubs and trees and moving on to the next area. I won't even get into the ridiculous number of outcrops of rock leading to cave complexes (there's even one in Brickstown with a Parking area UNDER the boulder with a cave door).
Anyway, my point is, take some time to make some planned and designed green spaces that have people using and enjoying them.
Rooftop Gardens would be a cool way to green some urban areas without knocking down current buildings, but even then consider community gardens that are used in big cities to reclaim vacant lots and improve neighborhoods.
Change some big areas in Paragon into Sports Fields instead of rock gardens with weird concrete walls sticking out of them. You gave us Sports emotes, and there are only a couple tired, underused urban basketball courts scattered around Paragon to use them at.
You can even green up the Isles. If people aren't allowed gardens by Recluse, then just have an "exhibition area" with all the new and fun stuff Dr. Aeon has cooked up [Enter at your own Risk. Not responsible for lost pets at plant feeding times] -
Crey and Knives of Artemis get a couple spiff looking headsets/earpieces that would be neat to have. Also maybe a way to mimic that cyborg hand that some Crey get to wear along with their business suits.
Apart from that, I would say take a look at tattoos and other body art available throughout the game. From the Fortune teller in the lowbie hero mission even up to more recent additions. Our choices in that department have been limited. I fully realize that allowing for tattoos to fit in with our existing options well is the main reason it hasn't been done. To let players have it would basically require either individual control over each arm appearance or dozens of new skin textures and making sure lots of existing patterns work on each and every one. I'm just asking for the issue to be reexamined. -
Good news, thanks Zombie. Looks like that will get the added stop in North Mercy. I still hope they can find it in their schedule to add a stop in Nerva North. With all these QoL mergers, that will be the one of the biggest backwaters left in the game, considering the amount of content out there.
What do people think about the Facilities indicator idea? It's not that important for veterans, but I think it would be a boon to new/casual/returning players, not to mention people who normally play the opposite side. -
Quote:Trying a bit hard to find something to be bothered about, methinks. Is it just me, or is Ghost Falcon attempting to shove Inherent Stamina down everone's throat any time it's brought up?
Not a very smart move.
He's making a big deal out of it because it is a big deal. It's one of the things apart from power customization, that has been most asked for and argued about over the years. -
Not to mention the Send Tell to Team Leader function.

Fire/Dark Corruptors
Thugs/Dark Masterminds
Just 2 of my favorite pairings I've played before. -
You should really read the I18/GR patch notes.

Not everything you asked for, but some things to smooth out searching nonetheless. -
Quote:Thanks Shadow, thats good to know. I hope they consider the added stops we're talking about here though. I plan to PM the link for this thread to Ocho tomorrow.I just finished watching the NYCC panel video and of note, some one did ask during the Q&A about the Black Chopper line being merge and War Witch said she believe they were.
Techbot- yes, thats exactly the setup I was talking about for Mercy. -
Quote:And if you could convert those Merits to A-Merits with no timer, you could flood the market with 990 randoms. That's considerably more flooding.Heh, I have 9900+ regular merits on one of my toons. Nothing is preventing me to spend these on random rolls at once (495+ rolls) and flood the market.
Not to mention if you used those hypothetical A-Merits you could leverage specific rolls into FAR more INF than you could with randoms.
You have a right to spend the rewards you've earned. They have a right to limit how quickly they hand out those rewards, especially in a situation where you're not doing it to advance your characters, but to manipulate the market in your favor. -
Whether doing so is a good idea or the best bang for your buck, is another question entirely.

Quote:May be "useless" for that primary, but try telling a lowbie Mind/Storm or Ill/Storm that. Not to mention any corruptor, defender or MM that takes the set.Can we change the order of Gale and 02 Boost around?
I have an earth/storm controller for about 5 yrs and I have no use for Gale it's just a waste of power when your primary set locks everything down. If I could place a global in Gale it wouldn't be so bad but it has none, or if it had some decent damage, but as it stands now it's useless.
Hint for suggesting power changes- you have to look at the totality of users, not just your own narrow perspective. -
Quote:You can't spend them elsewhere, there's only one vendor for Alignment Merits per side. You're more than welcome to spend them on something else though.its a bit, hmmmmm as far as WAI goes.
since im personally undertaking the rather time consuming endeavour of saving up for a panacea, it would be nice ot know if i somehow managed to get one another way, I could spend my merits elsewhere. Something about taking 29.1 days to spend 35 merits seems a bit silly.
Of course this is hypothetical, as doing it any other way, since I dont PvP or play the market very well, isnt an option. -
Quote:Interesting thought, but I don't see a single target Placate being that useful against an ambush wave.MM, eh? Suggestion: try using Beguile (Temp power from Pocket D and Tailor day jobs) and see how well that works in that situation.

Quote:That helicopter was for just after CoV launch, or really whenever Mercy Isle is likely to split into multiple shards. It was an easy way for new villains to hop from Mercy 1 to Mercy 2 if they got split from their friends.Fort Darwin.
I seem to remember at some point shortly after CoV's launch one of the "helicopters" there actually had a Black line dialog box. If you clicked it, it had only one option: Mercy Island. If you clicked that, nothing would happen and the dialog would close. Didn't last long, though.
That's actually the one I was thinking they could turn into a True Black Chopper station. -
Sorry I get the fort names mixed up. I meant the fort where you start as a villain.
