I'd heard of the new armor set and Water Blast, but I missed this one. Definitely sounds more interesting than those other two, as well. My only beef is that I'm not a fan of Controllers, and none of the other ATs for it have good "earth" or "plant" powers to go with it.
Hmm, maybe an Archery/ Corruptor? Twig blast! -
As a note, all Alpha boosts except for Recharge are applied to all Incarnate powers where appropriate. So if you're, say, using an Ion Radial Judgement, Nerve will also increase the duration of its Hold. Similarly, applies its effects to Lore and Destiny powers as well when they can use it, so your Lore pets will be more accurate too, and your Barrier Destiny, if you have one, will give an improved boost to Defense, etc.

Pretty much as the title says. Working on a new character, and trying to determine how I want to build it, and all the attacks look nice, but seven on my bar seems a little hefty. As usual, I've got a few theories, but want to know where they collide with people's experiences. Of the seven, the three that seem like they may even be "maybes":
Mercurial Blow - Looks weaker numerically than the other single-target hits, but I'm not sure that the other three are enough to keep things seamless, even with Guarded Spin tossed in occasionally for additional defense.
Innocuous Strikes - Guarded Spin is nice for the Defense boost, and it seems like the Perfection system would demand judicious use of Eye of the Storm for maximum effectiveness. Hence, Innocuous ends up as "the other AoE", even though it looks quite powerful.
Eye of the Storm - Contrary to the above, if I have Perfection backwards, and it's more about keeping up high combo levels than using the "spenders", I could keep the two cones and leave EotS out.
Any suggestions? -
Yay, ummm...Mecha Armor!

Quote:Is the DVD complete? IIRC, the VHS release had scenes removed to time-edit it down to a usable length. You do know the series is out on dvd right? I too kept my video tape until it was finally released.
If that problem isn't present on the DVD version, I'll have to grab it up...though my old tape will probably still be my treasure. -

Steelclaw?
Arguing for level 50-specific QoL changes?
Did I fall down a rabbit hole into Praetoria or something?
As to the topic at hand, nukes probably need looked at in some form, but whatever is done needs to be done to the powers themselves, and not tied to Incarnate abilities.
I mean, Stalkers got buffed, but was it mandatory to level a Scrapper to play a buffed Stalker? This suggestion seems similar to that idea. -
On the contrary, being as there's still probably not enough content to get the current slots completed without repeating content, I'd say they didn't wait long enough.

Quote:A couple of the pieces look like they really should connect, to my mind. Particularly the one partial ring that just...stops right around the where the shoulders would be ending it, were it a few inches further forward. In fact they'd probably look stupid if they did connect to your back.
I agree with you that it's probably intended that way. But I also agree with MisterD that many would probably look better properly attached. -
Quote:The "let's ruin everything that was cool about i18" arc started more like 1½ years ago with i19, and its climax doesn't really inspire a lot of excitement. As the climax of the storyline that started almost 2 years ago in GR, the Tyrant Trial is worth the sub on its own
And if you count the beta period, then we've actually been waiting over 2 years for the fall of the loyalist dictatorship - so I23 is a big story moment in the history of the game.
Praetoria sort of ended up as a washout, and "these new alien invaders who are totally powerful n'stuff" just don't really excite me. I've given up expecting the game's story to win me back anyway, but the game aspect of it remains mostly solid...I just need something with a little more "oomph". -
So is there anything I should know about this issue that isn't in the features list on the wiki? Something, anything, worth re-upping for? >_>
No, I mean it. I'd really like a good excuse. But Second Ward and the Cole trial ain't much. -

Conceptually, I love it. It's definitely an cool under-represented super ability category. In execution, I'm not sure how much I like the Intuition-stacking concept. I get the idea behind it, but am not sure it'd work in a way that was fun to play.

Quote:Server slots are nice. That's what kept me from dropping for the longest time. I have something like eighty different alts at this particular point in time, and I always seem to have a plan for a new one. But I've bought so many extra slots over the years that I still have access to around half of them even now, and figure that since I'm not playing my 50s anyway most of them can stay "retired", leaving me to narrow down considerably fewer, to the point of relative painlessness.Having made the jump to VIP after a month of Premium, it's worth it to me just for base access, all my server slots & ungated forum posting.
Base access was a bit of a "d'oh!" for me, just because I had a personal SG I was using for storage and didn't realize just being in an SG didn't mean I wouldn't still have rent paying and base accessing privileges. I'll probably resubscribe when the mecha suit hits, just to get access to that and while I'm at it, move my stuff to market and mail storage.
I'm not necessarily saying that there aren't gestures of good will extended to VIP players. Simply that those gestures are, from my personal opinion of value, at least, not worth the investment for the most part. Part of me would really like to be "won back", to be honest; heck, I think the fact that I still lurk around these boards is proof enough I do have some level of interest. I'm just not sure what it would take at this point, in part because so many other "freebies" of negligible value to me have been put out there. -
Quote:I'm finding myself in a similar position. As a premium with my tier 9 vet status, the only thing I miss out on almost nothing. Incarnate content I hate so much at this point that I can't really say anything other than I can't say how much I hate it, the new zones and SSAs don't appeal to me as stories, and so all I'm really losing out on are the occasional VIP-free powersets and costume sets...but since I actually end up with an extra eight bucks a month I could hypothetically spend on store stuff, I still come out ahead.I also returned after a hiatus to check out freedom (full details can be found in the link in my sig) and was somewhat startled at how UNlimited my gamplay was. Aside from a lack of server slots (thanks, alt-itits!) and access to the Incarnate system (which I frankly didn't miss) it was pretty much just like the old days.
I've actually been trying to think, lately, of things that would make me want to re-sub in the long term. I do kinda like the mecha suit, based on the shots I've seen, but even that, I only have to subscribe one month to get. Granted, I might be seen as an extreme case, but personally, I think the whole premium thing is pretty sweet. It's VIPs who are getting the bum deal in terms of value. -
Quote:"Potential for" implies they aren't already.so basically, all the major players that we've seen so far in the Coming Storm storyline have hugh potential for massive jerkishness at some point further down the line.
That's the real twist. The Battalion are the good guys who are going to help our characters fight back against a bunch of time travelers who they can control Earth's fate. -
Fair enough. As mentioned, I haven't played DA (and am not likely to any time soon), so I haven't seen said justification. I'm not sure "unrepentant nazi murder-fiend" pales in comparison to "probably broke at least 73 rules of time travel FOR SCIENCE!", though.

Quote:And yet, McDreamy recruited folks like Protean and [insert your villain character here] and maybe others that I don't know about because I didn't play the new DA?The Doctor also supports his claim by making further claims that during his time traveling, he discovered that all of the Menders were essentially genocidal maniacs, sellouts, or tyrants of some sort in their own native times, and that Silos must be evil for putting them on his team.

The only people I think I've ever seen speak up at an WW/BM are Chinese gold sellers and people who are looking for a quick port to Ouroboros, to be honest. I'm not sure what social aspect there is to preserve.

Quote:Given that they're referring to the donut shop, that's still a tad hammy, I've always thought.Theres a really good example for the lost and it kind of made me double take when I first saw it.
In Fautline there are some lost that will sometimes stand around looking at a group of friendly PPD, and one says something to the effect:
"One good spray of gunfire and we'd take out half the police force"
That's the kind of stuff that makes a group look nasty. -
Because I already got mine to 50, and with the choice at 50 of "grind or retire", I choose retire.

Depends entirely on the playstyle of the ATs, and whether they get a decent story (lolVEATs).
