    Level 16 now! Just gotta wait until 24 before a new interesting power comes along, they're all pretty standard from here to there.
  2. I managed to get AS's while zoning from Bloody Bay through the hero exit. Wasn't fun as when I respawned in Skyway, I had debt!
  3. I'm thinking of trying to squeeze Acrobatics somewhere in there. Get some much needed KB protection.

    I've already got howl on my character, I should be fine as is until I start PvPing, predominantly however, this is a PvE build.

  5. Wow, this is the first blaster I've ever played that I really enjoy!

    This character is a bit insane.

    Sirens Song will be my main attack-opener when soloing, so I can concentrate on enemies one at a time. AoE powers like Howl, Thunder Strike, Dreadful Wail will be used in teams. Where the benefits of Sirens Song will largely be wasted.

    Hence, I'm putting my prospective build up for analysis, what do you dudes think of this? I'm thinking it may be worth squeezing in acrobatics in there somewhere, but then something else has to go! What am I going to do? Oh noes!

  6. Hmmm, The very first single target blast is rather weak IMHO. Only good as a chain filler until you've got a few more powers in there.

    I like my missus' little pet as well!

    You might not have read the original post too closely either MaX. CrimsonStorm stated she didn't want to take many PBAoE attacks so FSC, despite the fact it is excellent (and elec/fire is great for PBAoE goodness), wouldn't get used in her playstyle.

    That being said, I'm thinking a bit about burn, it could be handy to drop around you to make sure minions flee from melee range, but otherwise is a bit esotoric.

    Kinetics doesn't really have to be defined as a religion, if you want a character that's built totally for soloing then you can skip Speed Boost and Increase Density.

    Though I don't know why you'd want to!

    Really though, I've found in teams that there are people who don't like receiving speed boosts. It's their choice, they'd rather have a slower character.

    EVERYONE loves fulcrum shift though, so just keep on top of your buffs as best you can but don't let it detract too much from being a controller. Your heals and stuff are secondary to doing what a controller does best, that is - stopping your team from taking any damage in the first place by using your mez's.

    I love my ill/kin, try a few respecs on the test server and go with a build you really find a joy to play, remember that any build needs to be fun for you. People may suggest powers and stuff otherwise but what it boils down to is that you need to create a character you really enjoy playing. Go forth, experiment and see what you can come up with!

    It's hard work trying to keep on top of speed boostage when in an 8 man team. I find a kinetics works best in a smaller team (4-6 is optimal for me). Failing that, team up with a kin/* defender and they can be your buffbot!

    But yeah, if you don't want to constantly be buffing everyone else, you don't have to, your holds immobilises etc. are good ways to subsidise damage taking which then leaves you open to flurry/air sup/boxing your way through them all!

    Patron for PvP?

    Myself, I've been thinking of taking Mako, Scircococococo or Black Scorpion as my patrons.

    Mako - Water spout, Chum Spray seem like decent powers, toxic damage is largtely unresisted in PvP and Water Spout looks like an amusing control devise that would give me 3 AoE controls on my character. His armour seems pants though.

    Scirococococo - Power Sink also looks good, but is it viable for PvP? Can I get bonus end from it, just with one other person near me? That looks awesome, the armour OK. Rest of the set seems a bit skippable for PvP

    Black Scorpion has a good pet for PvP and a toxic based single target attack. The armour looks OKish.

    Not sure, it depends how good power sink is! :S
  11. I'd suggest you go with a travel power now, and consider respeccing it out later.

  12. Personally, I'd suggest something different. You best bet being a kinetics is to stay close and in the heat of a fight, hence, Zapp becomes a bit less useful.

    I would also like to suggest that Stamina and a travel power are very good ideas to have until you feel confident you can respec out of them.
  13. Dominators depend a lot on what powersets you pick, what skills you pick from them and how you play to guage being "fun".

    Once my main dominator picked up Total Focus, he's been amazing to play, before that, it has been a struggle.

    Dominators are VERY squishy, think controller/defender HP's here.

    Pros: Domination is TEH UBER R0XX0RZ in PvP, in PvE it's also very nice as you'll be able to one-shot-hold bosses. Extra damage output is nice, it's not a great damage output, but with some smart powerset and other choices, you can certainly raise an eyebrow.

    Cons: Obviously rather weak on the controlling when Domination is down, also, you're remarkably squishy and not that great a damage dealer. You're a bit of a blurred jack-of-all-trades between the support (control) bit and the assault with your secondary. But that could also be viewed as a pro because it lets you mix it up a bit.

    I'd say Dominators are fun. I'm sure I'll be rolling more!

    MMs and PvP

    it doesn't really matter, provided you can hit an AoE heal very regularly, a Mastermind is at a HUGE advantage with the damage they can take per second compared to other ATs.

    on the flipside of this, if a MM wants to concentrate their firepower, they are going to have to sacrifce the bodyguard mode in favour of more damage to the single target.

    Also, MM's can suffer from a lot of AoE powers, AoE holds, debuffs, powers-like-fulcrum-shift et al. all benefit from the fact that the average mastermind is carting about a bunch of debuffable minions. I feel that MM PvP strategy will take a wee bit longer to hack out compared to other PvP toons, but this is purely because of the wildly differing nature of MM primaries and potential MM playstyles.

  18. Nooo, the thugs arsonist is a fricking aggro magnet because of his firebreath!

    Look closely at the arsonist doing his firebreath, you see him holding a lighter while spitting the fire out, it's a great little touch!

    I find the medic in the mercs is ALWAYS the first to die in any fight, I don't know why, maybe i should rename him Sgt. Suicide or something!

    But really, no, inspirations are part of the game, they're useful in PvP and they're always your secret "wild cards" that your opponent doesn't know anything about!

  21. To Echo above statements, your base needs to have a bit of a style update! same textures throughout is a bit dull and can be disorienting. Otherwise the video was well directed!

    One niggle I have with this video is the fact the credits take up almost 1/4 of the length of the movie - shorten it, or have something else running to keep my attention (Like the paragon in Hell video) because otherwise will people just switch off as soon as it hits that point. Some constructive critisism for you there.

    But otherwise, nice vid! Good work!
  22. IIRC, the delay between teleporting and dropping from your hover is enough to interrupt your AS. So you'll want something a bit less interrupt-making.
