Longbow and Arachnos Heavies used in Recluse's Victory can no longer be healed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not much use for capturing pillboxes, then.

... but it's not like people bother with capturing pillboxes anyway.

The RV design intentions just got even further from the reality.

Can I still ask WHY THE FACK OVERSEA'S GETS THIS SH!TE BEFORE WE DO!?!?!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    THEY DON'T

It just happened to be a EU player that made the DEMOEDIT using the CURRENT files on Test.

.... just like a couple of US players made a demoedit before I9 that showed off the Invention wings.

Our first thought for Issue 10 was to bring back the 5th Column, a villain group that disappeared when the Council was introduced in Issue 3.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wonder how far back they had that first thought?
  4. The Historical Event he talks about is the Apocalypse of St. John the Divine.

A beast with many heads, rising up out of the sea - very clever.

The badge is even called 'Apocalyptic'.

And thats makes him think that the picture is from the Co-Op Task force becouse ther is a "Co-Op Task Force" under the picture

    [/ QUOTE ]

So there is. That'll do, thankyou.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
I have to say it... the Co-Op TF pictures in the preview are very lame... for all I can tell its just a couple screen shots of two heroes!

    [/ QUOTE ]

What makes you think those are pictures of the Co-Op TF?
  7. [ QUOTE ]
I vote for Shield Fighting and Vibration

you get 4 choices, not 2
  8. Whoa, wait a sec... what about Deflection as a defense?

I'm talking about the kind of defense that can (potentially) send a ranged attack back at the caster. With a really good result, you could send a foe's Energy Blast back at them, knocking them over, or slap an arrow back at the person who shot it at you. Wouldn't that be radically different from anything we have now?

Now I think about it, doesn't Mirror Spirit do something like this?
  9. [ QUOTE ]
We've always talked about ways to get player material into the game...imagine using the base creator tools to make your own missions!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Could you start by having player-created text linked to placeable items?

You know, plaques, books, display screens, that sort of thing... so we can click on a plaque on the wall and read something a fellow SG member has written.

    [ QUOTE ]
Or a your own training room? Maybe some day we can figure a way to put this stuff into the game. The imagination just on these forums alone is so amazing; I can only hope we find a way an outlet for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, one way that occurred to me is to have placeable, destructible items that you can pick from the base building menu, which then enable you to pick a 'NPC Base Raid' mission from the Mission Computer.

Let's say you have to place three Crystals of Zob before the 'CoT Raid' mission becomes available. When you start the mission, which is timed like a base raid and has to be joined, groups of CoT start to spawn in the doorways and make for the Crystals of Zob. The objective is to defend them until the timer runs out.

If you implemented something like that, it would give a PvE use for all those base defences that otherwise don't get used, and provide a platform for SG roleplaying (and a level of customizability, too, inasmuch as you can choose where the objectives go, within certain limits so as to make them non-exploitable).

    6) The question is a "when" question. We rarely answer these, because even when we put disclaimers on it, our answer becomes taken as gospel, and if we fail to deliver, we look bad.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing the Cathedral of Pain / IoP Raid status is one of these. :/

  12. [ QUOTE ]
Flight poses are an example. No matter how ugly the implementation might be, as long as its not an actual embarassment to the company, I'd say add them, and let the players who want to use them use them, even if they are not perfect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ironic example. The problem with flight poses was that people who used Fly had no choice but to use them, whether they liked them or not. You were automatically put into one when you started flying. That's why they took them out.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
All this is going to do is keep prices artificially low. You won't be able to sell anything for anywhere near what it's worth (which, contrary to popular opinion, can be objectively estimated in this game).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let's see if I've got this right.

'Hello Wentworths, I'd like you to sell this Zonkium Widget for me. Please get a million inf for it if you can.'

'Righto madam, I'll just pop it on the shelves.'

    (later...)

'Hello Wentworths, do you have any Zonkium Widgets?'

    'Yes sir, we do.'

'I'd like to buy one, for not more than 500,000 Inf.'

(Wentworths employee goes and checks. Lots of people have brought Zonkium Widgets in, and most of them had an asking price of around 400,000 Inf, but here's one whose seller is clearly desparate, and he only wants 100,000 Inf.)

'Here you go sir, that'll be 500,000 Inf.'

(Wentworths takes the Zonkium Widget that's priced at 100,000 and sells it to the client for 500,000. The client goes away happy. Several other people come in and offer a similar price. It soon becomes apparent that 500,000 or less is about what you can expect to pay for a Zonkium Widget. Meanwhile, my Zonkium Widget gathers dust on the shelves.)

I do realize the irony of putting my trust in someone named Super_Villain, however.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Given that he started off hinting about what he 'might' know, and then blew up at Positron when he revealed how the system actually works, it's a safe bet that he didn't really know anything.

A pledge to fix it means nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wrong. A pledge to fix something means that they can be held to account. Admitting that something is broken means you're taking responsibility for it. That's a lot more potentially damaging in terms of lost credibility than simply waving it off.

    [ QUOTE ]
There are plenty of broken things that they have pledged to fix and after they realize they won't be able to fix it, they just lie

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please, give some examples of these 'lies'.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
posi said they were gonna fix the arena bugs before I8, what did lucas win?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]
By all means, find me some more public examples of an admission that something is broken, which weren't then followed by a pledge to fix it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
  18. [ QUOTE ]
ROFL..... How many examples of "Yes we know this is broke" do you need?

    [/ QUOTE ]

By all means, find me some more public examples of an admission that something is broken, which weren't then followed by a pledge to fix it.

I won't be holding my breath.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
Ok they figgured out what they did wrong, so do they fix it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Dunno, why not ASK?

People are just ASSUMING that there won't be any change to the LRSF. Do people really think the head developer is going to go out there and say - on record and in public - 'We got this wrong' and then just LEAVE IT?

I suppose that could be the case, but has anyone actually thought of asking Positron what HE thinks?

No, everyone just assumes the worst as bloody usual.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
This better include a revamp of the LRSF as it is now, in the near future. Because the STF sounds like fun, whereas the LRSF is just a boring, lame, utterly pathetic excuse for a "challenge".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe they're going to have us test the STF before they rush off and make any changes to the LRSF?

I mean, they might think they've worked something cooler and more balanced out, but you know how these things can go...
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Will heroes get Heat Seeker (Arachnos Flier GM badge) before villains get Heat Seeker or is the Arachnos Flier attackable?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Latest patch on Test suggests villains will be getting a working Flier soon.
  22. One of those missions is clearly set in Recluse's Victory.

I'm guessing that's an instanced map, though. People wouldn't be sent into a PvP zone in the course of a TF.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Ah. The IOP or was there more? and how is it this can't be fixed?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nobody said it couldn't be fixed, only that it would take a while!

SO ... short of spending a fortune paying for stuff at Wentworth's when it open... how does she accumulate any of this "special" salvage?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just so we don't get confused: it's special recipes that drop from story arcs, not special salvage.

why doesnt anyone simply point out the fact that this is for most players to spend MORE time gaming?

    Because it's not a fact.
