  1. Well I wouldn't bet on it, but it'd be a huge step in the right direction if cox got picked up by a company willing to try things, instead of the same stuff over and over. In any case we should be thankful for getting as long of a run from this game as we did. Take care and see some of you on league of legendsor dota2 hopefully.
  2. It's been a good run, and i'll miss a lot of you. I shouldve figured that when a league had started gathering, the game would have the plugs pulled. I'll be playing league of legends if anyones interested, name on there is LeHives. Peace.

    PVP training

Message me @dillinger in game. I Dont play much anymore, but i can help get u started at least. My best advice is, until you feel comfortable pvping, find a good way to make money. If you don't have dozens of billions you can have a hard time doing much besides making half a build. It can be difficult adjusting to pvp but its even harder to properly teach someone pvp, so please have patience.
  4. It's doubtful anyone needs me, but my offer still stands that i'd be willing to join/practice/fill for a team. Global is @dillinger, i have a psy/em that i can easily put time in to finish, dark/em that would be finished in one night, emp/son or ill/rad(lol) that i can finish if need be.

Keep in mind I'm a baddie, and I've only done one previous league and some arena. Good luck, all of you.@dillinger
  5. Could be fun, ill be a free agent if any team will take me (been on a month or so hiatus from the game). Have a psy/em almost fully done, dark/em fully done, emp needs work. Good luck everyone.
  6. I haven't looked into the numbers for reactive, but I'd imagine enough psy blasters could rip through a squishy in no time these days, especially if you add a debuffer. I think it'd be worth a try.

    fixing droners

That's kind of what i was alluding to, but we already know thatll most likely never happen. Besides, its going to take a lot more than just those few things to balance zones. Those suggestions would go a long way towards gaining players from the pve croud. I honestly have nothing to say on the matter that hasn't already been said, pvp is something the devs dont want to touch

    fixing droners

The toon has about as much to do with the ability to pvp as the person who uses it. If you choose to view people who want to contribute to pvp even with an so'd toon that way, you should probably reflect on the simple solution to your problem.

Stop getting close to the base. It's really not hard to get an idea of where their droning distance is. Also as someone mentioned, you can always switch sides. That's probably the simplest solution.

You may be asking for this change on behalf of "everyone", but those people are probably about 10% of the zone pvpers; which, pvpers are probably 1% of the total game population. That's like wall street execs lobbying for better trading laws. Sure, that .1% population would love such a thing to happen, but it wouldn't effect the other 99.9%, and there's about a million other things that need to be addressed besides a side issue.

I highly recommend spending your time lobbying for a global pvp zone or a system of pvp that doesn't require billions of influence and hours of grinding and learning a completely different system to be viable. I'm assuming that the system itself has made infinitely more people quit than droners have. If we can get those changes, maybe we can actually cultivate a population that deserves attention. Only then will you get the change you want. Once again good luck.

    fixing droners

Thank you for summing it up simpler than I could fellow jerseyan, it's not worth the time when 90% of a small niche have figured out the solution. Don't chase heroes close to their base, you won't get droned. Problem solved.

    fixing droners

I was mistaken about the changes to droning, I was probably thinking of the anti-ganking code that never got added from i13.

The above stated reasons are actually fair and well thought out. Don't get me wrong, I hate droning as much as anyone else. However, I almost equally hate base camping. It's boring for both sides and does relatively nothing for keeping a fast pace/learning mechanics (that's why i suggested trying arena).

Droning, however unfortunate, is the "easy solution" to base camping. If they could, I'm sure the devs would get rid of both of these tactics, as they have been complained about since the dawn of zone pvp.

The two are not mutually excusive though, and as I stated above castle tried to implement an anti-ganking code but that's easier said than done. The fact is, droning prevents base camping, and camping is essentially just as tactless (usually) and grief inducing (if not more so) as droning is.

The pvp population that is left have made the best with the system that we have, I suggest you do the same. I'm not saying that there's no hope for a change, I'm merely saying that its part of the pandoras box that the devs really have no intention of opening, probably ever.

If you want changes, get as many people into pvp as you possibly can.The only way the devs will spend any time on pvp, is if the population is significantly larger than it currently is. Learn team mechanics and get proficient at helping others play well. The fact that you're even getting droned means you have plenty of room for improvement.

I'm not trying to stop you from requesting changes. I'm merely saying there's probably more important things to focus on than being able to stand an extra 200 ft closer to the heroes base, and not having to make the 30 second run back to hero base occasionally (see the requested changes thread). Basically, don't assume it's such a simple and worthwhile fix. Good luck, I hope this post helped.

    fixing droners

Honestly if you want skill or fun, don't zone pvp. If you have the friend base to turn a zone over from being camped, you have enough people to get a fun free for all or KB going, which doesn't happen nearly enough these days.

The devs already tried a few anti-droning tactics a long time ago, but nothing worked. I'm assuming then, that it probably isn't a simple fix (if only for the above stated reason of droning people out of base). Even if it was as simple as adding a no-tp zone to base, the devs probably wouldn't do it. They only seem interested/have time for major bugs like the hybrid holds. (not even dark holds).

Basically creating this thread isn't going to change anything, except give trolls the scent of fresh meat. However, if you'd like to improve pvp i suggest coming up with concepts on how to improve the current pvp environment instead of the current pvp mechanics. Just a thought.
  12. Looks good! Thanks a ton, I'm sure itll be a lot of fun. Would you suggest incan for life drain or rebirth for phase/rebirth?
  13. Alright so I basically need more accuracy and damage, without sacrificing too much hp and recharge. This is my build as it is on live (- the HOs), any advice would be very helpful, thanks-----dillinger.

So as of right now I'm at 51% global acc, 10% damage, 50% rech, 18% run, 32.5% range. Some of the stats are a bit lacking and I'm not sure what powers to change out to potentially increase my acc. Thanks again ahead of time! see you all in RV
  14. I'll xfer over sometime this week, feel free to global me for 1v1s - @dillinger. I'll see you folks Friday
  15. I'll get a toon up there soon, hopefully we can get more people involved tho...
  16. yeah that sounds about right....i'll think about it, i would have to start up a new sg to try and get people interested in pvp, if there's enough vet's left that is. Thanks for the replies at least.
  17. Thx for the heads up, well see what I decide...
  18. I'm guessing it's just a few people pvping these days, still i was thinking of moving a toon back over. I'd just like a change of pace from freedom, and i started on guardian so I figured i'd see if it's worth a try to come back.

On a side note, does anyone think we could get some kind of pvp in RV going or at least a coalition for 1v1s and KB's? I think there are enough vets and knowledgeable people in guardian to at least get some interest generated in regular pvp....
  19. I'll be a captain if need be, I vote yes for destiny...
  20. My only experience is on the receiving end but it lasts what seems like 6 or 7 seconds, way more than enough to get spiked 3x over
  21. @dillinger, ill point some people to this thread..glhf folks
  22. Most recent relevant news on the matter:, synapse commented a couple days ago on the proc change discussion post that the new procs will be based of reharge slotted into the power and from alphas, not global rech.....

So I'm thinking it'll be less of a problem in pvp because most people slot for dam/acc. We'll see tho...its still a bit of a nerf.

    /fix_pvp

Honestly, the devs are probably not going to revert back to i12, so any good suggestions we make are pretty much fantasy at this point.

Working within the constraints of diminished returns, and from a 99% zone scrubs perspective, i would like to see:

1)An overall lowering of the diminished returns curve so it plateaus at later numbers for almost any bonus. basically this is so that squishies can still benefit from external buffs while melee toons who are already quite survivable dont become overpowered by them. so maybe adjust on a per-AT basis like it already is......sorry if that aint clear enough.

2)extend base mez durations for controllers/doms, so they can actually do what they're meant to, that or shorten mez durations for all other ATs.

3)rework the knockback system. As it stands having to build your toons for certain ammounts of knockback points isnt too much of an inconvenience. However, for newer players and those like myself who enjoy min-maxing, this cut into a lot of the fun factor of pvp. I'd like to see some kind of hybrid between the old and new system here, maybe making it possible to slot acro for enough knockback protection or acro and 1 or 2 kb IOs.

4)Heal decay needs to be completely reworked, possibly so that self-heals dont effect external heals or something of that sort. I like the concept, it just became too much though especially for zone.

5)Travel suppression is the one thing I think would be best reverting back to i12. You could cut the ammount of suppression in half and it would still be a pain in the ****.

Thats about all i can think of right now, however i would like to see an emphasis on improving zones and drop rates. As it stands right now, zone games are non-existant. Itd be cool to have some kind of concept, i'll leave that to the more creative people though.

A BIG improvment to me, would be to add a different pvpo drop system for buffers. Getting a kill on an emp is a rare task. Now I'm not saying it's impossible, but I get the feeling that has a factor in why we saw a disappearence in buffers in i13. A lot of people want to get their rewards for participating, and if you're the reason why a zone gets overturned from base camping, yet you get no reward, you might feel inclined to stick with whatever build does the most damage while surviving a considerable ammount.

It'd be cool to have some kind of timer like every 2 or 3 hours in zone results in a random pvpo drop, or every X ammount of rep earned by the team results in a pvpo drop for everyone. Obviously I don't want them dropping so often that they lose their value completely, but a small addition to the current system could be an easy change with very positive side effects...

These were just a few quick thoughts, please feel free to ignore them. I just wanted to get my point across that the devs will do what they want to the system, so Ithink we should work on suggestions for zones, as that is generally the starting place for new players and (I think) is more likely to get dev attention. Sorry for any lack of attention regarding spelling/punctuation. -------dill

P.S. I think a major part of the reason for the devs lack of major pvp attention is because of the incarnate system, and as such we should probably wait to see the system before making suggestions.
  24. I'd like to join if you end up needing people, my info is in the free agent thread or you can send me a tell in game @dillinger.
