I can under stand that, and respect your opinion. I was also pointing out that you like to use alot of PvP and purples in your set which some can not afford yes we can convert some of them but that can take time and u can run out of converters for them. I have a few things that I am still trying to convert, and have not had many success on getting the converters to do so. Not to mention u implied the build i did for the OP was a bad build and yours was better in a round about way.
And to cauldrone, fin is a female for future ref

    Seems about right.
Must have tp or it will be difficult to get around with that

    Tanking iTrials

I have tanked many Itrials on both res tanks, and def tanks it all boils down on how u play your tank, and the how u build them. My SR tank has no res but has high def and I hardly die with it, but once in awhile they do get that lucky shot in where I do have to heal my self. But it is like flints said every tank (or AT for that matter) has a hole in there armor sort of speak.

Yes it dose but it is not that much you can also get the same effect from winters gift slow res.
  5. FA is more of a typed def tank not positional the way the gme mech works it will take the higher numbers. You do not want to try to sc both typed and positional with the build. And yes losing the 4% on melee is defiantly worth taking more neg/en def. Most of the content in the game is s/l followed by neg/en damage. Temp prot dose not help much in most cases since u r already max on fire res without it.

But isnt the rangle plot part of the warboss plot, which is part of a bigger plot lead by impish?
  7. Ok first thing first who said FA tank can not be a tankest tank? I my self have a lvl 50 tank that has out lived many other tanks in Itrials/TFs, and reg content. I have even tanked HAMI with my tank. Now to your build, I do not know if u do HAMI or not, but i believe that the baddies in the Itrials can do more then 8 points of KB, I am not sure though, also lot of them do neg/en damage more then s/l. I would switch out the oblics with more erads to help with that def over the melee def oblics.

Because logic dictates that an enemy with a debuff attached to an attack has to be able to hit you before that debuff will affect you. 5% chance to hit = 5% chance to debuff in this case.

You're talking here like those enemies are going to ignore your defense and debuff everything away no matter what you do.

Also, if you're so fatalistic with the "It's going to be debuffed away anyway" mindset...why are you even bothering with ANY defense?

If my Regen scrapper gained survivability by soft-capping S/L defense, I can't help but think a WP tank would gain more. Especially seeing as how a WP tank gets 21.6% more debuff resistance than my scrapper does.
    My point exactly.
  9. Claw, and hopeling both said it, I have toons on red side that did not go that rout and have epic powers from blue side instead of red side.

It has almost 79% Resist to S/L and decent defense to F/C (which there are very little enemies in this game to worry about that), soft-capped E/NE, and decent defense to Psi (which again there are very little enemies in this game to worry about that). WP Taunt aura is weaksauce to begin with which is why I also have Taunt in the build to cover that. Yes it's fairly expensive, but once again with Enhancement converters isn't nearly quite so bad if you spend the time and effort using them. My EndRec is at 4.59/s and End Use is 1.77/s which still grants you a 2.82/s EndRec, which is more than what some builds will give you. You make this out like this is the most terrible build in the world, matter of fact you do that to all of my builds that I post. Have you tried it yet? I have this almost exact identical build for my WP/SS toon and believe me it's highly survivable.
Like i said yes u almost sc fire and cold def, and sc neg/eng. But your s/l def is the one that i am talking about. It is not close to sc. If you take a look at the re build i did for the OP i got to almost like yours with the HP/reg, useing less end, and do have it sc to s/l, 70%+ on res for a lot cheaper build, and yes you kep mentioning about the converters which makes it easier to get certain IOs. But that dose take alot of time and getting the other types of IOs is quicker and less expensive via reg merits/hero merits.
  11. ok im looking at your build and I see few major problems with it 1 TW is a end hog just like FA. 2 You went red side to take up soul mastery and took darkest night which is also a end hog. 3 you took accro which is also an end hog. 4 you skipped consume, burn, but kept RotP which is the main one we kept saying to skip, but keep at least burn. You could switch 2 powers out to get the other 2, especially since it is an end hog, crushing blow with consume, RotP with burn.
  12. This Just in it has been confirmed that all of rangle plots are part of a bigger plot lead by warboss

Wow you over slotted physical perfection, your def is way to low for reg content not to mention incarnate content. not even a good build for survivability. You over slotted most of the attacks, your taunt aura aint even going to hold much aggro, plus a a very expensive build. Your end usage is going to drain u of end real fast.
  14. Here is my tank that I use if u want to take a look at it to give u some ideas, u might also want to increase your reg, and your neg/en def since that is another one that there is some out there.

If you must skip 3 from FA, I'd suggest Temp. Protection, Fiery Embrace and Rise of the Phoenix.
Wait a second both fiery embrace, and consume are not a good choice to skip. 1 consume is a great power when u are running low with end, and/or if u want some more AoE damage. Fiery Embrace is another great power to take for it will increase your damage out put on fire damage and on your secoundary, just like build up dose but with a little more oomph.
  16. As for SR I do have some experience I would say elude and Quickness if u must miss 2, Quickness dose give u some slow res and improves your recharge though.
  17. I was on the team blue side with a new brute that is StJ/Nerg. I was trying to help Mari come up with a new one and thought of this one in the process. Got it to lvl 16 almost 17 during the event. Thanks lot of fun.

That's because it's constantly ticking away at foes, even if your teammates are destroying enemies. Also, having the two taunt auras is one of Ice Armor's strengths. It's why Ice Tankers are kings of aggro. However, I can certainly understand why you might not want it, just trying to give you the counterarguments.
Hum u just gave me an idea, I have done it on my FA/Fire tank where I just stood there with BA on and watch the enemy's fall, I think I will give this a try on my Ice/TW tank, or Ice/fire tank.

I will, however, strongly disagree about the leadership pool: It is one of the best choices on a tanker. Tankers are teaming archetypes, and team buffs are excellent choices. If you are ever thinking of going incarnate, the leadership pool is a fantastic option, because the softcap is raised to 59 percent and there is confuse/terrorize galore. Yes, wp is one of the very few sets that protects against confuse/terror, but the rest of your team is likely to be completely vulnerable to that stuff.

    Leadership rocks, naysayers.
Um ok that is weird considering that each time I do Itrails everyone pretty much goes all over the place to the objectives and do not stick together much to get the bonus of leadership.

Wow what server do u play on? I see all different types of tanks out there not just stone and fire. I mostly been playing my SR tank as of late, as well as my SD tank. And I do play my Fire tank, or WP tank. My Fire tank I do reg content and Incarnate stuff with.
  21. The Player Event Resource Committee Presents:
    Design Challenge - Disaster Base!

Oh no, something terrible has happened to your base! Was it a natural disaster? A gang of looting Skulls? A Rikti bombing? A jealous Hellion's girlfriend? Whatever the cause, a total disaster has hit your base leaving you with nothing but wreckage! How creative can you be at turning a mess into a beautiful base? Thirty Designers will be selected to see who can best salvage their "Disaster Base"!

    • Anyone who wishes to compete may enter by filling out a short form linked at the bottom of the post.
    • Contestants will be chosen based on creativity of their answers, passion for designing, and skill level.
    • Entrants may choose to link up to 3 screen shots of previous base work.
    • Having previous base building experience is not a requirement; a variety of contestants will be chosen.
    • Entries will be accepted until June 24th. Contestants will be selected by June 28th and will be invited into bases from June 28th to July 1st.
    • Contestants will be posted on the forums and will be notified individually via email.
    • Non-VIP players may enter, but must realize that the prizes they win may be limited by their Paragon Tier level.

    • Each contestant will be given a "disaster" base to resurrect and design. Each base will have exactly the same number of items (wreckage) and an additional 50k prestige (disaster relief funds).
    • Contestants may not do anything to earn or buy more prestige for the super group. Part of the challenge of this contest is designing with only the materials provided and a small amount of prestige.
    • Contestants may not delete any of the preexisting wreckage. You may move it or reposition it, but you may not delete it. You must use the wreckage in a creative way.
    • Any player who does not have access to Paragon Rewards base items may request that a PERC Rep drop them off in the base.
    • Contestants may design only the given "Disaster Base" room, the base entrance will NOT be judged.
    • Design/Building time will end on July 20th.
    • Judges will tour bases between July 21st and 25th.
    • Bases will be judged without the contestants present. Contestants may email a summary/description of their base to be considered during judging.
    • Bases will be judged on: creativity, difficulty, use of wreckage in design, overall aesthetics, and cohesion.
    • There will be 3 overall winners selected and up to 10 Honorable Mentions.

    • Overall Winners (3)- 2 Billion influence, a set of ATOs (player's choice), and an Olympian Guard costume code!
    • Honorable Mentions - 250 Million influence
    • Each contestant who completes their base will be awarded a Luck of the Gambler +7.5% rech

What if I don't like SJ as a travel power? What if I don't want to dedicate three power slots to Weave? I've always been of the opinion that power pools are optional. And who on God's green earth would six-slot Build Up?
Ok this is confusing me a bit. Why do u have to take SJ and who said u have too? I rarely see anyone 6 slotting Build up unless they are going for positional def. I have a tank that has CJ and fly but skipped SJ, and Hover since freedom launched u do not need to be level 14 anymore, nore do you need to have the first power to get your travel power. Like fin said my SR tank dose not have the fighting pool nore CJ and I am over the SC for them. I do have focuse chi 6 slotted to help with my def as well as other bonuses.

Bad suggestion 1 Focused Acc is such an end hog, 2 Gaussian is a poor choice for targeted def build.
