An update:
I looked at my name's sake one last time, emptied his influence and some high value salvage to myself via email, said good-bye, and promptly deleted him. There was a pang of regret but that is natural since he was my very first character.
Recreated him giving him Dark Melee / Dark Armor, man oh man, I forgot how fun it was playing a character with Dark Melee. I love the sound when Shadow punch and smite hit! It just sounds like it hurts like the devil! lol Leveled him up to 8th before crashing last night. I look forward to working him up back to 50; however, this time with better knowledge and experience. The only thing I did was change his name up. Shortened it from Knight of Khonsu to Khonsu's Knight. Sounded better. -
Quote:Heh heh heh...whaddya expect from a n00b? lol He'll probably show up next wearing spandex similar to Statesman! lolThe biggest question that crosses my mind is: Does she get a superhero name?
Which leads into my other thought since the most recent SSA: Darrin Wade better get himself a super suit and proper villain name, assuming our players don't jump in there too quickly. He's had 10 years to plan all this, you'd think he'd have a name and costume picked out already. -

Mine came yesterday after we completed all five of the SSA missions. With Statesman dead, the others of left afterwards. However, my character, Quantumshock stayed and paid his last respects. I am proud of the fact that before Darin Wade bounced out, I faced him alone without my teammates for 15 seconds driving his HP down to less than 2/3rds when the rest showed up.
It was at that moment that I experienced my reason I love this game. My character vowed to see Wade pay for his treacherous cowardly actions in murdering a great hero regardless if others liked him or not. The clarity of action and focus makes things a bit clearer when you face things like that. Quantumshock now has a goal unlike before, to live by the example set by Statesman and make a difference.
Therefore, he will not by pass the opportunity to stop a mugging, purse snatching, or whatever else some of the Hellions, Skuls, or you name them, no matter their level, to put them down and save the citizen. That is why we are here. My apologies...I went a little too deep with this one. -
Nothing now that I think about it. I think I'll want to deslot some of my better enhancements to save for later in his SG base. I'll make this a project to take up at a later date. However, I'll make sure I get him started though. Thanks for asking.

I just wanted to thank you all again for your help in choosing my new defender, Siren Shrike. So far, my character has proven the power sets I am using, rock! When I completed the 'Save Manticore' mish, I just shook my head in amazement. My first defender had to get help! lol. I am looking forward to experiencing greater things as she levels.

Reroll. If offered the opportunity to start over with my first character, 'Knight of Khonsu,' I would jump at it, even if it means giving up everything I have received. I did not know the game when I started him. I foolishly picked SR with Dark Melee. If I had the opportunity, I would drop SR for Dark Armor in a nanosecond!

Hmm...how about a low rider 1968 Impala with hydraulics and 22" wheels. Oh yeah, the thing is armored like a tank, armed with mini-guns, Anti-tank & Anti-air missiles, and with a jet enjine mounted that shoots our a 10' flame to propel it over 300 mph! Woohoo!

I gave up doing that my Kin/DP Defender after reaching 24th level. I spent more time face down than standing. After reaching level 50 with her, I started a new defender. This time I am using two powers I have never used; Sonic Resonance & Sonic Attack. Now, this baby can solo. I made it through the first mission arc to save the troublemaker, Manticore. I was surprised and did not think I would be able to do it. She is now 15 level and moving into some of the tougher So I don't have any doubts that a n Emp/Sonic defender can solo well.

Recently, I sent in a request for resolving an issue that two of my characters were unable to access the missions for 1 - 15, 16 - 19, 20 - 24, and recently 35 - 39. Tech support really could not help me even after I did what they asked.
By chance, I had another character in Ouroboros and decided to see if this one could access the two lower levels. I was successful. Then it hit me, my other characters did not do any mission arcs outside of the starting one once you get in Atlas. I leveled them up mostly through DFB and through team missions that did not involve those areas.
I know this should not be the case; however, I believe because these two did not do any storyline missions from 1 - 15, 16 - 19, and 20 - 24 (other than Mirror, Helping Hand, and Jenny Adair's), I cannot access those missions because of this. This did not happen until after the release of 21.5.
Did the developers change accessibility to these missions as they changed the requirements for the Midnighter's mission and a couple of others? If this is the case, those who level up using DFB will not be able to access the portals unless they are on a team who can do them. Has anyone had an idea or similar experience? Thanks. -
Quote:I thought he may be talking about her looking kinda like a ZentradeiHit the brakes. Full stop.
At no point in the leak so far do we actually see how Penny's psi powers manifest.
I propose, even if this means them putting the arc on hold to make it happen, that she creates a psionic energy construct in the shape of a Kronos-sized mecha that she 'pilots' from inside.
Do it. Do it now.

I will point that there is a caveat to Spiderman's powers. He is a young man; his powers are proportional to that of a young spider. It is said that when he matures into his mid to late 30s early 40s his powers will have reached maturity and increased exponentially. I have read speculation that Parker's powers will revival some of the strongest hero/villains in the Marvel Universe.

Thanks ya'll, much appreciated. I like the idea of using the multiple builds options, though I've never used it. The one thing I read on Paragonwiki about it, the bane will have the crab legs in both builds. Is this the case? Anyway, I think I'll go ahead with my crab build then follow up with a Bane, and ultimately try to do the 'Huntsman.'
-
Quote:Well in order for that to happen, Crab Head will have to conqueror Paragon City and all the super heroes (NPC & PC). Sorry, hell will have to freeze before that happens. It will never happen, therefore, Reclutz and crew will have to remain in their fantasy land driven pipe dream or continue puffing on their fat boy blunts.Sorry mate, I am Villain. Statesman's death cheers me up. :P It's about time to change the face of the franchise. Put Lord Recluse or Ghost Widow's face up there! (evil grin)

I finally received Cage last night for my Sonic/Sonic Defender last night. I used it in the first mish of 'helping Proton.' It locked up the Death Head Buckshots like they were common criminals. I even used it on the Leader who tried to "escape" while I took on his guards. Cage really impressed me. Heck the sonic powers all around do.
So far, I am really impressed with the power combination and how well my 14 lvl defender is able to solo. Far better than my Kin/DP. I'm looking foward to what this one will look like when I finally reach lvl 50. -

Freaking outstanding. I absolutely love what they've done with this character and the outfit. I hope we will have access to something similar in design and scope.

Quote:I agree. I'll miss working to get that first defeat badge before moving on to Atlas. <Sighs>...and it's barely been five minutes!
I logged a toon that I've not had out for a long time. Essentially it was a concept toon that became a placeholder for a not very exciting name. I just logged into it to see what it was about.
It was in Outbreak.
Suddenly I realised how much I miss the old training mission. I know why of course. I mean technically, the new one is far superior - it gets you through the whole thing in no time, a level and a half, a badge, a shop item, new enemies, contact with real signature heroes...
But for me, and I dunno, maybe other vet players, Outbreak was a rite of passage; doing the hard yards for the Isolator, solo and just getting a "feel" for the character. Maybe running and button mashing and killing guys (who incidentally throw non-lethal rocks at you) and maybe... I don't think I did this every time... inventing a back story for the character.
It's not quick, it often wasn't painless - sometimes a grind but not in a bad way.
Sure we can revisit Outbreak via Ouroboros, but it's not the same - it's frenetic and there's a lot more going on and it's ultimately a lot less satisfying. When you had the two, then it made sense but now...
I dunno. I'd just like to play the old Outbreak more than the Ouro one I guess. -
Quote:No, I am very familiar with HeroClix. I wasn't not aware that they did CoH/CoV. And after Wizkidsgames went under, I did not know if HeroClix continued under someone else or if they are still producing the game at all. Trust me, I am very familiar with this click based game and the others, including MechWarrior. You've never heard of HeroClix?

Quote:You did an amazing job that, in my opinion, captured the emotion of that moment.Remember the multi-month "Funeral for a Friend" storyline that followed the Death of Superman? For me, that was the part of the story that had the most impact. I was thinking of that and the "Wake" storyline in Sandman when I drew this.
As the permanance of Statesman's death sinks in, devs and players alike will eulogize and commemorate in their own way. This is how I choose to do it. -

Quote:You know...that scene has to be the saddest moments in recent history for Paragon City, its Heroes, and its citizens. It serves to drive the point home, Statesman is dead.Full version is up: http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/global...neral_1650.jpg
And it was Aurora, not Swan.
I think the most telling is Ms. Liberty's focus on the casket with Mynx and Aurora there to support her. Call me an ole softy, but it is a very sorrowful and touching scene that choked me up. -
After carefully looking at the two photos side-by-side, I do believe this is Yin standing in the back. The sign that makes me say so is the mark under her eye on the right cheek. They both have the exact mark. The only difference is their costumes. I could be wrong; however, based on the two photos, I don't believe that I am.
