...players that did not pl or use any exploit have gotten 72hr bans and toons deleted.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm officially calling BS on that claim.

[/ QUOTE ]So you say NOBODY was banned by being level pacted to someone and hit 50 instantly after not using that character to a while? I call BS on your call.

This whole idea of having to log back in with your password being considered "protection" is a farce.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [ QUOTE ]

People I know have shared their passwords with girlfriends and the minute they break up, their toons vanish.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Imagine how difficult that would be if they didn't share the password. Or any of the other situations mentioned here. No annoyed brother/SO/etc seeing the game running and deciding to delete everything. Situations that, yes, HAVE been mentioned in the past.

    [ QUOTE ]
How often would any of these proposed incidents occur? Not often enough to even be blip on customer services' radar. Besides, they can actually restore your deleted character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And by requiring logging out to an area that requires your password, it's even less of an issue, and even fewer restorations end up getting requested, freeing CS to take care of other petitions. Besides, the times I *do* hear of getting a character restored, the person who gets it done talks about weeks of waiting.

Requiring a password = no waiting, since the character is not deleted unless you *chose* to give the person your password.

What would you rather have to do - wait 30 whole long, agonizing seconds to log back in, or wait weeks and hope you get your character back?

[/ QUOTE ]Honestly, any of these proposed "incidents" would be rare at best. And why would you leave your computer unattended in the vicinity of someone you apparently can't trust to begin with? Seems to me these fictional victims have bigger problems.

Not often enough to even be blip on customer services' radar. Besides, they can actually restore your deleted character. The whole thing smacks as being a lame excuse for some decision made long ago and an unwillingness to change it, much like the lame excuse for restricting capes anymore when you can clearly have certain capes from the beginning.

nice! I've noticed Abreu's stuff in the regular books, thought at one point it was Ed's stuff. lol

[/ QUOTE ]That's what has me so stoked. I've wanted a commission from Ed Benes since I began collecting, but he just isn't doing them. Maybe at a Con, but not the way we traditionally pursue them. This is the next best thing. Now if I can just get some that look like the work of Frank Cho, Adam Hughes, Jim Lee, . . . .
  5. I just discovered this guy a couple of weeks ago. He has been working with Ed Benes and is part of a studio with lots of great artists. I can definitely see the Benes influence, and I'm in love with his work. This just turned out sensationally good.

Hi all. Here is my take on Cybernautica by BuckeyeStar.

    Original:

    New:

[/ QUOTE ]Very cool. I like the eyepiece idea.

Here is my rendition of Dynoman. I went with the idea that his body was incapable of dealing with the massive amounts of electricity that he generates and his powers were slowly killing him. His arms, being the conduit for using these powers, were ruined and replaced with cybernetics. A regulator was installed in his chest to try to slow the effects his power was having on him, the energy within him glows through the crystal. His body is generating so much energy, the electricity actually pours out of his eyes and caused him to lose all his hair.

After the buzz wore off from watching the Going Rogue trailer and now being mired in anticipatory glee, something occurred to me. Statesman and Desdemona are looking at the view screen which is displaying another city full of heroes and villains that "looks like paradise". And that other city happens to be ruled by an evil Statesman. Coincidence or a little jab at the competition?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Jeez the people here really stretch when lookin to diss good ole' Jack don't ya? Just kill off Statesman and get this whole..."we should PWN Jack thing" over once and for all.

Move one people. Just enjoy playin CoX.

[/ QUOTE ]Chill out, I just thought it was a funny perspective.
  8. I looked at my account. The box is still checked, it's always been checked. I never get NCSoft emails, not even in my bulk/spam folder which I check everyday just in case.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Do you guys have it set up in your account management as cited here

[/ QUOTE ]Guess what, chief? My account profile says that I'm receiving the newsletter and I never get anything from NCSoft.

When I saw the character, I thought he was really, really gay. And as a gay man myself, I can kinda be an expert on that subject. Lol. I don't think people intended those comments to be hurtful, but they can be. So, it says a lot when they retracted them and apologized. Kudos to you all.

Now that the hand holding is done with, let's get down to the cruel fashion critiquing!

Constructive critism...he is super campy. Male characters have to be careful how much skin they show in contrast with such bright colors. Look at Colossus' suit from the 90s! If you want to give him more of a Greco-Roman feel, put him in the Valentine's Day toga or the Roman armor or the Valkyrie add-on (yes, I know I'm dishonoring my Norwegian Viking ancestors by telling you to pass that clothing off as a Greek character...) That's just my opinion to make the character be more "serious" looking.

[/ QUOTE ]Some of those are not viable options. The Roman costume requires him to wait until his 30s and the toga won't be available again until NEXT Valentine's Day. Remember, this is a NEW character.

I guess I'm just not seeing whatever the others are. The neck part doesn't say anything to me. You could always extend it with the "Neck" option under masks.
  12. If you read this, Johnnykat, you have PMs turned off. How do you want to swap info?

I'll post here if we're trying to keep the other thread somewhat clear of clutter

Is this where I scoot my desk next to Hericane's?

    [/ QUOTE ]

yes! this is middle/jr/sr school fun all over again! *loves the fun of moving desks around*

[/ QUOTE ]Couldn't help but think of this.
  14. Sounds good to me, count me I'm.
  15. I have a character that would be perfect for the party, but she's a hero. Maybe I'll roll a villain dupe of her.
  16. It might not let you name him Loki, the MA name system is much more harsh than naming a playable character. I have an arc that I didn't publish yet where you see the origin of Cybernautica/Elektra Steele with a guest appearance by Invincibelle. The creator would not let me name her Elektra Steele because of Marvel's Elektra, even though I have used that name in game.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Sadly, MA is out for me, as all three of my slots are hosting arcs at the moment.

That is, unless we can show them off in Test Mode.

[/ QUOTE ]Do what I do when I want to experiment with stuff my character doesn't have yet. Go into one of your arcs, if you have one with a custom character, and edit that character. Snap screenies at the costume creations screen and then back out without saving to the arc.

I am grateful you didn't show TA's lil buddy for the world to see though lol

[/ QUOTE ]Not as grateful as we were.
  19. Congratulations, I'm looking forward to the results.
  20. I like them both, I would rather not try to decide. Though, as far as games go, Castlevania is the only good 2d game left now that they ruined Metroid.

I'm for Bayani's original intention over Buckeye Star's suggestion. I think it's a better idea for everyone to see their own character each round, rather than one person seeing a whole bunch of incarnations. And I think we should do more than one round. Depending on how many entries, maybe a vote off, like the fan art competition?

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't mean to supersede Bayani's idea, I'm all for it. I thought it might be fun to do AFTER the one Bayani suggested. And I think somebody suggested it before me.
