    Shard drop rates

I've never heard of anyone running multiple task forces and coming away empty handed on shards.
I've never seen it come up in team, coalition or public chat either. Has anyone else? Also, it appears as if most of the testimonies upthread pertain to TFs, but what about outside of TFs?

While level shifted, I'm getting 4-9 shards per TF.
My non-level shifted toons are also getting 4-9 shards per TF.
If the drop rate is different for 50s vs. +1s while on a TF, I'm not seeing it.

Outside of TFs, however, while level shifted, my scrapper got 0 shards in 9 tip and 5 story arc missions (each set for 8 with bosses). I estimate that as > 2,700 bad guys (arc missions had many more bad guys than tips).

As can be derived from my previous post, I've always scored a shard on a TF, even on speed runs or while on runs where I've sat out (off map) for entire missions. I'm going to detach the rare and run another 9 tip and 5 arc missions and see what I get.

Yes. Since Friday morning I have run 9 TFs and I have received a shard from a baddie in the 1st spawn attacked in the 1st mission in all 9 of them. Even when I loaded into the map late (twice) and the team has already started defeating, I have received a shard from a baddie within the spawn that was being attacked by my teammates.

you pretty much gotta wait a month to even get the final alpha of your choice, need 4 notices and since we get 1 notice a week... eesh. thats 2 more weeks for me though.
now if only shards would drop more often like when the alpha thing first started

ran the khan tf today with 3 scrappers and a blaster while i was on my elec tank. i went in with 0 shards and by the time we were done i had 2, and someone else only got 1

i then ran one of my contact missions on 1+8 and all i got for all the effort was just 1 shard. it seems like some say once you get the level shift or whatever the shard rate drops.

i used to easilly get up to 5 shards a mission run well every other run but now only 1? what gives. and i used to get 5 in the mothership raids, did one a couple of days ago on my brute and only got 3 for the entire time i was there =\
If that's what you are seeing consistently, unequip your Alpha and see if that affects the drop rate.
    (I haven't had a chance to try)

  5. Bah...posted my Mind/Energy instead.
  6. Can't let this thread get anywhere close to purgeland.
  7. As noted above, I agree with Ill/Rad and Mind/Fire.

Confuse your way through the AV/EB affairs (make the Roman healers your friends, if you'd like).
Sleep, Confuse or Fear each of the ambushes.
  8. Yay for yoooooou! Well done!

Pursuing components also will attract folks from the Morality/Alignment path, further depressing the C/D supply to some degree.

Or not maybe its in i20,i21? who knows but in the game like life id rather be rich and happy than poor and pissed

Based on an old beta-leak or bug, I'd like to see purples from level 10 through 49
  12. Time to throw a few more purple logs on the fire then!
  13. I random rolled the first week or so, but I've switched to cherry-picking LotGs across the board.
I'm not selling them because I'm loaded with INF.
I'm storing them for my 4 or 5 "inherent-Fitness, purple-IO, getting ready for whatever this end game content is going to be" builds.

Okay, the big one! I propose a new type of invention enhancement. This one actually takes away from your stats in order to increase something higher than usual. Say you want a blaster who is a little more survivable in certain encounters. You would have the option of slotting her ranged damage with enhancements that increase her defense and/or damage resistance while decreasing the range and/or damage of her attacks. Or perhaps a tanker whose melee attacks increase in range slightly but decreases her defense or damage resistance as a result. Interesting, eh? And controversial no doubt, lol!
    I like.

This is pretty close to what I suggested for Defiance 2.0 back in early 2008 (?) when Castle was taking open suggestions from the subscriber base. I think I called it "adaptation"; you could tweak it at any Hero Corps/Fortunata 4XP contact.

I would still love to see this as an "earnable" inherent power that's open to all ATs, but an invention (if functionally possible) would work too.
  15. PVPs and Purples have been absolutely dreamy. Dreamy!

  17. Bought a few stacks of Call to Arms uniques back in Feb/Mar when I became aware of Demon Summoning.
Got them for 500K/stack to 10M/stack. Sold several just before the merge announcement for 80-300M each.

I would expect the price of that stuff to rise (less AE farming, more tip/alignment merit farming) - kinda wondering if it might be worth speculating some on.
Not silly at all. Why not grab some?

Marketeer's POV: Once the new i18 level 50s come through the market for their final builds, I expect a demand spike and a corresponding supply trough. Those with inventory should be able to push prices up a bit.

Casual's POV: Put in a few low bids in today for the salvage that you are going to need 2-3 weeks from now.

  20. Only mentally tracking what I've received: no Big 3, 1 KinCom triple, 1 BZ+kb, 1 Oblit proc, lots of melees of course. All from the 35-39 range. I don't recall anything else.

So are folks happy with how this is working out? I'm pretty pleased.
  21. I'd also add that HVMs have been designed (unintentionally, I'd think) to affect uneven deflation.

As noted here and elsewhere, Pool C's are declining at some rate. However, Purples aren't declining and won't decline at anywhere near the same rate (due to design; 1 or 2 HVMs for a "C" compared to 20 HVMs for a Purple), so folks will have more INF to purchase these Purples.

Better said...folks have more INF to purchase Purples because Pool C's (the high value recipes in particular) don't/won't cost as much as they used to.

Without the benefit of any data analysis, perhaps 10 HVMs (a SWAG) would bring Purple deflation in-line with Pool C deflation, if that's what teh Devs desire.

Purple demand should spike a bit once a larger wave of new 50s arrive on the scene. Folks are distracted with school and school activities this weekend, but maybe late this weekend or the next (U.S. holiday) that spike will occur.

Yup. This and the other responses are correct.

I lead the opening mish of the night (set for x8) with an S/L capped Fire/WP. Once I get 5 tips across all (not across each...across all) of my toons then I dial it down to x1 and go to town.

I'll do this until I can earn 15 LotGs (arbitrary number) or until LotG's trend at 50-60M on the market; whichever comes first.
