    Good stuff...just a few quibbles:

Soul Drain: I tested this not two weeks ago and found the base damage increase is 12.5% per mob. I don't know what the Accuracy numbers are. It was quite easy to Brawl a guy, Soul Drain them, run away (let Fury subside) and Brawl them again. It came out to be 12.5% every time against 10 targets.

Touch of Fear: It definately Fears Lts. in one application making it a Mag 3 Fear. Numerous experience with this.

    Cheers!

When I personally tested Soul Drain, I got the same numbers you did actually mine were closer to 12.4156....but that's neither here nor there. Currently I'm basing that number on the information I was given. Im not done testing everything by any stretch of the imagination. As far as the Fear effect, Im only stating what is listed elsewhere. I've feared AVs with the power. I don't doubt it's actually above a mag 2, I even went so far as to state that, but untill i have that in writing from a credible source, it stays listed as 2, with the caveat that i've had different results. The Primer was presented as version 1.0 because I fully expect some things to change over time.

    Thanks for the look though.

Going back aways, 12.5% or 15% have been the numbers most tossed around for the +DMG in SD.
So I'd say op test, 'sat'.

Conversely, the +ACC numbers are all over the place.
With double ACC's in each attack (to include SL), it really won't matter unless toe-to-toe with an AV.

And even then unless his/her supporting cast is still alive to be 'drained', it won't matter much.
  2. I will need to devote some time to reading it all, but I like the intro and layout (however, I think that using paragraphs in the power breakdown sections would be very helpful).
I'm sure I'll have some discussion points later.

I know you sent a PM, but did Castle or someone else confirm the 10% THD in SP, Smite, SL and Maul?
I never got a response back on my own PM
If you mention confirmation in the guide then as I said, I've only skimmed it so far.

Also, about ToF...experience shows me that it takes two applications to fear bosses and AVs.
    Is that what you found?
Or with 3 ACCs (my assumption based upon your comments) have you feared bosses and AVs with one application?

My 40 has ToF as Acc / Acc / Rech / Dur / Dur

I didn't see anything about an influence bank.

Did I miss it? Will I still need to have another player character to transfer funds to my lowbies?

Okay, please don't throw anything at me. I made a mistake.

    [ QUOTE ]
Hits skipped after 6 missed: 210
    Total counted attacks: 6671
    Hits: 2206
    Miss: 4465
    Hit %: 33.07
    Miss Streaks: 1:523 2:349 3:256 4:154 5:120 6:210

i regretably and accidentally overcompensated for the streakbreaker based on a misunderstanding on my part.

those numbers there already take the streakbreaker into account. so in my earlier post, when i subtracted the 210 atttacks, i was incorrect.

the real defense being given by Kin +EC is (50% - 33.07%) or 16.93, not 20.08

    so 16.93 - 12.75 = 4.18% def for EC.

and, since i PM'd this to Castle and he agreed the result was too high and said the real number for EC is actually 3.75%, I think this test agrees with that.

I'm really sorry to get your hopes up and for confusing anyone. I try to not make mistakes like this. Sorry.

These final numbers then are the tested and confirmed EA numbers, much thanks to TopDoc for correcting me.

    Kinetic shield: 12.75% S/L, ??% E
    Power shield: 15% F/C/E, 10.5% N
    Energy cloak: 3.75% all.

Again, I'm sorry for giving faulty numbers.

If I could remove and lift my kitchen sink then I would throw THAT at you too!
  6. I'm in the same boat.
    Different person though.

Whatever they are, my DM/EA is fast becoming my fave toon
  7. Looks like the usual resource management curve to me.

Ramp up for design and development.
Ramp down for testing and delivery, while unloading the heavy cost/salaried folks as soon as possible.
  8. ...oh, and thanks Cryptic for giving us that "another MF'in teaser" that so many 'round these parts have been demanding.
  9. ...and did I see an Electric Brute? If so...yup, red, not blue.

If so or if not...that "reach-for-the-sky, pull-down-a-big-ol'-lightning-bolt-and-then-AoE-the-hell-outta-stuff" power was awesome!

    Regarding stuff currently on Test:

DJ Zero seems a lot like a badge-unlocked contact, and his chat message seems to be a hint to spend more time in Pocket D, but so far nobody's got anything despite spending upwards of five hours there. Is this a bug or are we just not doing the right thing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    He is not currently unlockable.

There is no badge for time spent (or time doing ANYTHING) in Pocket D.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does that mean there are OTHER badges in there?

Can one of you please tell me why we are all over States jock about this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Too d@mn funny!
I hadn't 'heard' that phrase since last uttered by the young kids in my childhood neighborhood.
    Thanks for the laugh!!!
  14. I had to let an almost full, fury bar decay when I heard this one (is this an old one though?)...

Wolf Spider TacOps: "Congratulations! You've won a free trip to the hurt locker."

    Overheard in Cap au Diable:

Goldbricker: "The next person that says, "Hey! I can see my house from up here!" gets their jetpack privileges revoked!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's AWESOME!

    Here are some more...

    1) Luddite Friar: I'm glad you askedÂ…non-violent protest does not mean 'only knives'.

    2) Rocketman: "I'll be home by seven, I promise. Unless I get pinched again."

    3) (while teaching a few minions, reading from open book, minions sitting around him in a semi circle) Luddite Friar: "Illustration 4 is entitled 'How to go limp"

    4) Fortunata Seer: "Now don't go pollutin' your britches in terror. We just have some questions.
  16. Also heard a mook in PO saying: "Dockside belongs to us. I don't mind beating that into you."

My favorite so far was walking by a Penumbra Elite Assault talking to his troops said "you guys are 33% less accurate than you were last month, whats up with that?"

    NO WAY!!!

So let me get this right, SG's that have been around forever get no added benefit and larger sg's get no benefit?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There could be an added benefit, but your entire SG would have to be 'balanced' as a result.
  19. Dawnfire -- I have read a few places on this board that going with to-hits in Nova is not worthy. Forgive me for not providing a link.

IIRC, it has something to do with the fact that it would take 5 SOs to equal 1 Acc SO. The individual was making the argument that those slots could be better spent elsewhere.

Also, Nova has an inherent acc bonus, so most folks go EndRcvy in the base, and all Dmg in the attacks.
