  1. In addition to all the great advice given thus far, I'd like to not only echo those things, but to also add that, in CoX, there are global chat channels. i.e. you can chat to anyone on these channels from any server. There are usually specific channels that are made to help persons find teams, TF/SFs and it's usually a nice place to just chat. Whatever server you decide upon, I'd urge you to check that Server's Forum section to get the name of those particualr channels you should join.

    Welcome to the City!
  2. I attended Hero side and it was a blast! Kudos to the Dev types for keeping things hopping, while we wait for the .. well, you know.
Now all we need is a Red Cap invasion...what? I like debt!
  3. In case things are still going slowly, try joining a good sized SG and a couple of the global chat channels. Helps with that whole teaming thing.
    -Pinnbadges
    -Cozmic's Playground

Good luck an cya in game!
  4. Well... i'm scared. But, I'm so there!
  5. *Looks out the frosty window in Pinnacle*

    Hey, I think I that's Dr. A...Nope, just a bear wearing goggles.

*Sits down on his tiny stool an sips his tea*
  6. I'll pretty much echo what TonyV said. Works perfectly, save for that video reset. And that's not even a big deal.
  7. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all !!
  8. I wish my story was more interesting, but hey.

Years ago, I played a game called 'Nox', it was my very first online game and I created an identity of Kemli. I've always had a liking for the name and I've used it through every game that I've played since. It was also my first characted on CoH, a fire fire blaster, back in the day when it was cool to hang out under the City Hall floor. He was deleted within a month however, as the play style just wasn't for me. Go figure. I've yet to actually re-create him.
  9. Ah, just read the interview and I'm quite happy about this. I've wanted to flesh out so many mob bios and have always had to make hard choices about what to actually leave it. Huzzah to our Overlords!

I'm in the same boat =[. I say we all band together to form a giant robot of despair .
    Dibs on the Missle arms!
  11. Yup. Pre-ordering is a given for me. Really hope GR has scads of content though. Even with the changes they've made over the years, I can still run most of the missions blindfolded. Time for some new stuff.
  12. Hey!
I finally got back to checking on the forums, so thank you very much for the review!

Regards to the grammar errors, I swear, on my screen, it looks fine, spacing and everything.Regards to the ellipses, I know you think there are too many, but I thought they were necessary where ever included to make a the point.
Yes unfortunately,I had to make some choices due to the remaining space I had after the mobs were created. I ended up cannibalizing a lot of the dialogue and even after the new patch to reduce the size,I couldn't do much, but I've done what I could. I have, however, for the most part, decided to keep some of the choices that I made, especially the part about the blood and the lack of some explanation. I'd made the choice that it'd be not important to the player in this case, granted again , space limitations drove me to that, but I still think it's valid. In my eyes, sometimes, you just be the hero, you get the basic idea of the 'bad thing' that's gone down and off you go.I thought it plausible to leave the genetic specifics to the imagination, such that somehow, her blood was able to facilitate the self duplication or it's magic or whatever the player decided.

Regards the mobs, I did my best to balance without watering them down, the one npc with KB prot, the rocket boot officionado, that's as far as he goes, really. Now I wanted Dragon to be a real pain , but I've since toned him down, now that the options became available.

All that said, I know it's no opus. But as an overly nostalgic and long winded type and after seeing what gets 5starred by a great deal of folks, I just have to accept that I and the folks I chose to assist me in testing the mission over a some weeks to fine tune the battle experience, see things differently.

For the most part, I've decided to leave it as is, as feedback has been mostly positive and move on to other arcs to continue my learning experience. It is my hope that future arcs will be more mainstream and I will be a better designer for the larger audience.

Thank you very much for the review and I appreciate your time, I'm sorry you didn't have more fun with it.
  13. Thanks very much for the review, will be tweaking majorly. Just as a note, I removed the breaks in the speech text because for some reason the <br> was showing up in the bubbles, no idea why..
Again thanks for the reviews and will be majorly tweaking.
  14. I understand the point you're making. I do, I think I just wanted to include that danger in the pull too heh, plus it just sorta fit the story.Mind you, I had toyed with the ideas of changing his group diff. to Medium and busting him down to regular boss level, so I'll have to consider that. Also, he's set for the middle of the map spawn, so that I will have to look into.
    Thanks again.
  15. Ah well yea, it's actually by design, frivolously explained if you trigger the dialogue. It's sorta the end result of that wee hint about Caitlin's DNA.I wanted the punch of an AV without actually having an AV..heh..so the number of Bosses or EBs in the group scale by difficulty and team size.
Given the length of the arc, I decided to make the end result of him succeeding evident , on a small scale, to represent the danger if he had fully completed his wacky plan..But, I'd rather you not just go back for the reviews sake, so I'll have another look at the arc and see what I can modify. Thanks for the response though
  16. Well first off I appreciate you checking out the arc and I'm sorry it wasn't to your liking. I'm at the point in game, where almost everything can be steamrolled, so that influenced me, but I will be going over it to tweak the nav texts and such.

Yes I agree to the info dump part, but that was part of the point, that the world goes on while your hero does their own thing, so sometimes you do come into the middle of things and to different types of missions, that's what an extended scanner mission feels like to me anyway.

As to the multiple nature of the enemies, my original idea was Asian freakshow (limited to modern day China and Japan) but not limited to tech enhancements.Hence the type of blades, since they're modern day folk, not really from old school villages.meh. Regards to the minions with build up..some powers I got stuck with, but I avoided that where possible, the only boost that should have been happening was where the minion using hide, gets a crit. off.I made sure to just have 1 major mezzer and 1 guy to withstand holds, I tried to balance it out. But, I'll check into it again since the patch.

Granted I was a little surprised that you used a blaster , but I used two myself in testing it (lvl 4 and lvl 50), I wasn't too bothered. I'm not sure if you used inspirations for the ending EB in the 1st mish, but I sorta think that's a given if you're a squishy versus an EB. Yes he's a brickhouse, but he's can be KBd,slowed etc like no tomorrow. Granted my view is a tad skewed, because debt has lost it's meaning after all this time, but I was aware of that, and I did try to make him beatable, yet still a brickhouse type. As you know it's challenging building mobs that can pose a threat for all ATs..but I'll look at him again .

Now as to the 2nd mish and the multiple EBs, I think I did too good job on Dragon if it sorta scared you off heh. I actually really, really underpowered Titan, as my rationale was that he lost some power when he split himself( and battle wise, he's a pushover if you pull, which is my default choice as a blaster for EBs.)
Again, he can't stand KB, you can knock him and those bots around like paper.

Regards to the Rikti involvement, not so much. Their involvement was limited to one of their abandoned bases being re-purposed. Since that didn't seem to be clear, I'll probably have another look at the writing.I had to rewrite so much early on, due to making space, I may have forgotten to write that back in. Granted, initially the map choice was due to it being a transitional map, so as to give players some differing environments to battle and space considerations since I knew it'd end up being a 2 mission arc, but I've grown into the idea and my sentimentality sorta locked me into it at this point , heh.

Anyhow, again, whilst that's my explanation of the choices, I'll have another look at it, see what I'm comfortable with tweaking and try you again. Thanks again for your time and I'm sorry you didn't have fun with it.
  17. I hope you've got time to review my arcs.
My 1st Arc and yes it shows the inexperience, I think.
