  1. I want to add that even though it's been several months since discovering I can't do anything to the chatbot, all attempts to contact the people hosting/programming/etc it have resulted in failure.

So I'm sure it's entertaining but unfortunately, until further notice, I can't add more sentences to his repertoire.
  2. I'm incredibly wary of this whole situation.

I can see that good things will likely come of it, as it's still the same team working in the same fashion on the same games. But all this talk of paid expansions and sequels being flung around... makes me a little nervous.

I'm sure they'll be good, and I'm not going to be pessimistic here. Want to approach this with as open a mind as possible. But at this point, being here since launch, I'm worried that things are going to be too different after this.

    I dunno.

But if this means we're going to see the game engine get revamped, and wall-crawling, power-customization, elasticity powers, all of those sort of things potentially added? Well.

I'm definitely looking forward to watching this all unfold, for good or for bad.
  3. Heh. I'm surprised people still hit this little dude up on occasion.

For some reason it won't let me add responses, I'm trying to get ahold of the guys in charge right now. Then I can get him back in working order.
  4. Yeah, I was tempted to just post "LERN 2 RITE NUB" but you did it in such a wordier and nicer-sounding way I don't feel the need anymore.

Agreed with most of the above. If you're planning on writing a script, read scripts and try to understand the formatting. Same goes for books and short stories. Classes would help immensely of course, but if you want something quick, just look for scripts.

REAL scripts/books/stories, too. Not fan-made. If you immitate other fan-[censored] you will write fan-[censored] and it will never get you anywhere. For example, trying to learn how to make a comic book by reading a webcomic is probably a really bad idea.
  5. If only there was a forum section you could go to where you're supposed to post fanfics and other sorts of things that people would read. Yes indeed. It would be wonderful if they added some sort of section like that, of course it couldn't have been in the forums since launch, no, you would have noticed that... OH WAIT.
  6. I spend like an hour and a half making myself a signature image, and then remember we're not allowed to have them on this forum.

    *facepalms*

Oh well, I'm still happy enough with it to show it off here. And yes, I am a dork. (Also that Mewtwo is entirely my artwork)
  7. Yeah, the server's acting a little funny. I haven't been able to update him for a while, it's kind of upsetting. :\

I'll bother the owner and see if I can find out what's going on.
  8. ...people still talk to this thing?

    Cryptic coolness

The rigs are much more complex than the standard CoH one, it looks like. Most notably, they have individual fingers. CoH doesn't have that. I assume these are what's going to be the basis of Marvel Universe Online, and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

But what I'm seeing is limited since I don't have 3DSMax yet. Working on getting it, though. Then I fully intend to figure out the animations and blow people away if possible.

It's what I want to do for a career, after all. Animate stuff.
  10. Oh! Duh. I completely spaced on linking to it in the original post.

I am, utterly, a goofball. Profuse apologies for seeming like I was assuming people knew where my profile was- I didn't mean to come across that way, as I myself forget where it is half the time.

    >_<;;

    I am an idiot.
  11. Most of which is boring. But hey! At least I'm updating.

And if anyone would like to ink or color any of my sketches, let me know. It would be fantastically awesome. Because I suck at/don't quite understand inking completely yet.

    Edit:

I'm an idiot and forget to link things.

  12. I finished my comic four days after the contest was announced.

I couldn't get it uploaded in time due to bugs and problems every day I tried.

I've given up and don't care anymore. If I can't even submit the [censored] thing, it must not be any good anyway.
  13. ...man. I got all excited when I read this until I realized the topic was from THREE YEARS AGO.

    MEANIE.
  14. We couldn't beat Mako.

We fought him solidly for over an hour to a stalemate. As soon as his health got low, he became impossible to hit, regained almost all of his health, and then the process repeated over and over indefinitely.

    Then the servers went down.

This is BROKEN. Please look into it.

The other AVs were difficult, but Mako was -impossible- to defeat. We didn't even take a break. Hell, mid-fight one of our team left, grabbed inspirations, came back, and handed them out. The time they were gone made no difference and neither did the inspirations. We either couldn't hit him at all or couldn't hit him hard enough.

A shame, as Mako is my favorite member of Arachnos. I was looking forward to finally beating his face in after the months of never defeating him in RV.
  15. I finally got around to scanning in some selected bits from my sketchbook and uploading them to DA.

CoH-related things abound in there. I'm by no means a good artist at all, but I'm learning. And seeing how I'm at a school to learn computer animation, you can expect to see some 3D stuff eventually make it's way into there.

I might do some free character sketches at a later date, but school's got me too busy to do any right now.

So consider this a preview of what's to come, I guess? Or something.

Edit: Whoops, almost forgot to put my published comic in there. Man. I love that thing.
  16. The main difference between a wiki and a submission that's published is that potentially other people could edit the wiki of your character. In some cases this would be helpful, I'm sure, as they can fix formatting and spelling and grammar problems. But we all know wikipedia has it's share of Microsoft being edited to just be a page that has a big red "MICOROSOFT SUXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!!" every once in a while, and so on.

There's upsides and downsides to all approaches, but in general, I support the idea.
  17. This would be kinda neat. I'd think it would work best in a yearly edition or somesuch, though. Not a constantly-editable wikipedia format. Which I could see this becoming far too easily.

Get all of the submissions, someone compiles and organizes them, then release it in a downloadable format like a PDF or somethin'. That'd be cool.
  18. I am ALL OVER this contest.

Been wanting to do a screenshot comic for a while now, and just needed an excuse to try my hand at it.

This is going to be vast amounts of fun. I love writing comics.
  19. I -love- Heroclix. There's just no people in my area who ever want to play it. When I visit my family on christmas break and other holidays and such I usually get one or two people to play it with me.

I've got a decent amount of them, not a huge collection by any means. And some Horrorclix(including The Great Cthulhu, which was $70 and is totally awesome, and is unfortunately broken now and replacements cost over a hundred bucks, sigh) and I plan on getting the Actionclix when they hit, if for no other reason than to adapt the Halo characters into the Heroclix rules and have Master Chief get beat down by Spidey and Batman.

But yeah, got the CoH/V heroclix, and they're all vastly overpowered. I can tear through people far too easily with them, so we no longer usually let people use them. :P But they're wonderful little figures.

As for custom heroclix, I only have one, and I myself didn't make it. I got it for free from someone on these forums who was looking to do a catgirl character set... though he didn't specify that said catgirls should be typical catgirls instead of the catgirl equivalent of Iron Man, power-armor and all. I haven't tried playing the game as my custom figure at all, but the guy did a fantastic job on it.

I'm hoping to see more CoH/V heroclix in the future to finish rounding out the Arachnos and Freedom Phalanx. Though I'd also like the Vindicators and some of the more important AVs(Doc Vahz, Clockwork King, Requiem, Nemesis) and a minon or two for 'em. But I doubt such a set or series of sets will ever be released. Heck, we're still waiting on -any- of those suggestions for merchandise we made to be produced...

    ...I want my plushie Rikti Monkey... ;_;
  20. Some Freakshow just aren't really that bright when they put themselves in the suit.

And some have really jackass friends.

"Okay guys, put the arms on now."

    *friends snicker and leave*

    "...guys? ...this isn't funny. Guys?"

  22. Oh. My. God.

He learned how to play paper rock scissors.

I just put the lines of text in him. I didn't know he'd figure out how to use them correctly!

    HOLY CRAP.

HE'S ACHIEVED SENTIENCE. SAVE THE CHILDREN!

    Holy Necro-Threads Catman!

    Sounds like you had fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd rather the thread be revived than me have to start a new one. :P

It's been a while since I've done maintenance on CTab's chattyness. I'll work on that later tonight, see if I can kick his response count up by a hundred or so.

Jabberwacky: Help me if you can - I am feeling down.

User: Why are you feeling down?

Jabberwacky: No not me, you feel bad.

User: Uh...what are you, crazy? You just said you were feeling down.

    Jabberwacky: Yes I am.

User: Uh huh. Big surprise. Say, what's your name again?

Jabberwacky: My name is Strong Bad. What's yours?

User: Strong Bad? What the hell kind of name is that?

Jabberwacky: I don't know.. Its your name , Not mine.

User: Wow, you ARE seriously insane. Don't suppose you like moonbathing?

Jabberwacky: Do I look like I'm artificially intelligent?

User: Artificially Idiotic, maybe. Say, do you like pasta?

    Jabberwacky: Who is artificially real?

User: I give up. I'll bring you an I-love-me jacket the next time I visit. Bye for now.

Jabberwacky: For now? Are you going somewhere later?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or was I talking to the wrong guy?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know I don't have the Strongbad line in CTab's database... so I think you were talking to another bot.
  25. Aww... I met him at Gencon, I believe. Nice guy.

Hope he has fun on his new job!
