Both clients have the same list of servers now, so I presume it'll be okay If not, don't worry! There's usually plenty of tech support type people that come along that can help out
  2. On a Rogue Arachnos Widow : Level 50 : Union Server
Last mission is sending me to the Ski Chalet door which when clicked says the usual "Closed for the Off Season"

Sent in a petition as can't find another mission entrance.

EDIT: I clicked all the other doors in Pocket D and found it's the one under the stairs Red Side, not the manhole cover.
Second Edit: It seems people are finding the mission behind totally random doors. So, just click every door/truck/manhole cover in Pocket D *sigh*

This is also posted in the European Lounge section of the boards but I realised that not everyone can post in the thread there, only VIP's so thought I'd mention it here so that non-VIP's (and VIPs) can let me know if they'd like to come along.

If you're interested in coming along you can either post on my original thread. or in this one.

If you're a Free or Premium player you'll have post in this one.

    *****

Heya everyone! Just thought I'd let you all know that this years player meet is going ahead as planned Apologies to everyone for not updating this thread with all the information sooner, but there were some circumstances beyond my control I had to contend with. Anyway, without further ado!

    WHEN: Saturday 8th September - Sunday 9th September 2012

    WHERE: Global Gaming, Birmingham UK

    Prices:
    Half day pass - 10am - 5 pm or 5 pm - 11: 30 pm = £7
    All day - 10 am till 11:30 pm = £12
    All night - 11:45pm till 9:45 am = £12

For those of you who haven't been before, Global Gaming are situated just around the corner from where the old Omega Sektor used to be. There's a map HERE, and they have off street car parking just opposite in the multi-storey carpark. It's within walking distance of the city centre with all the shops and other amenities of a busy city.

GGA only has 15 computers, but they do have space for a further 8 in the main room, and another smaller room which can accommodate 8 more. Anyone wanting to bring their own computer/laptop must make sure it has an Ethernet port as they will have to be physically plugged in to the network as there is no wi-fi.

Looking forward to seeing you all again, and a few new faces this time around. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! I shall be panicking like a small wheeled lunatic from now till the event. Again, apologies for not keeping everyone up to date.

*It might take me a little longer than usual due to ill health, but I'll do my best!

Those of you who would be interested in attending, please let me know either by replying to the thread, in game (@Kallandra), or forum PM Also if you could let me know if you'd be interested in bringing along your own laptop/computer or if you'd be needing one just so I have an idea of numbers

I'll keep a list somewhere nearer the time.
  4. Have updated the first post in the thread with more information. I'll keep updating it as needed.

I was really hoping to be able to use it under the new jacket, or any jacket for that matter, but apparently not.. It means my new shiny outfit looks great, except for the plain non shiny top underneath the jacket >.<

It's also a shame that you can't colour the legs all the way down to the ankles as if you were wearing leggings with the straps of the shoe/boots over the top. I hate every leg option being a pair of knee cropped whatevers.
  6. Are the bodies supposed to float off at a 45 degree angle after being defeated? I think I preferred it when they just evaporated/sank in to the ground...

    GOOD CoH Writing

I miss Doctor Creed's arcs. They were so evil Perfect for beginning villains.
  8. Hmm.. tough choice. I think it'd have to be flight, as being in a wheelchair sucks some days.
  9. Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, but if Statesman is being removed from the game completely, how will we be able to get the Oppressor Badge from killing him in Recluse's Victory? Or is that an alternate Statesman?

    How long would this last?

I have been to other meetings of gaming communities and would maybe consider this one. I would use Easyjet or Ryanair to get there, unfortunately neither has flights to Birmingham from the Netherlands/NW Germany.

I'm not saying I will come, but I would like some more information.
I usually run it over a weekend, last year and the year before it was from around 9-10am on the Saturday until around 4-5pm on the Sunday, and the place we used (Global Gaming in Birmingham UK) stayed open all of Saturday night for folks to carry on doing TF's and things throughout the night. We were very lucky that for both events Paragon Studios unexpectedly, and very kindly, offered to pay the costs for hiring out the internet cafe for the entire weekend A few of us got there on the Friday afternoon/evening and met up in the local pub for drinks and social.

It's basically a meet up, a chance to chat to other players and have some fun with a few in-game competitions, and to show off your character creations to other folk. I usually leave it up to what the majority would like to do. Last year we ordered pizza and mostly sat around chatting and running a couple of TFs. I did my first ever BAF which failed horribly.

I know Elizabeth Bathory is in the Netherlands and he flew direct from there to Birmingham for the meet in 2010, so it might be an idea to talk to him with regards to which airline he used and prices etc. (He also helped me organise that very first one)

A lot of us stayed at the nearby Premier Inn.

I've not posted definite details yet as I'm currently looking at alternative internet cafe's for this September as although Global Gaming is okay it's not really big enough for the 30+ people that showed up last year, nor does it have a wheelchair accessible loo. As soon as I've either found a new venue or have sorted out the 'usual' place I will make a post with dates and times. For now though I'm planning either the first or second weekend in September.

  12. I was always told, when I first started playing, "Never click another man's glowie."

I still feel uncomfortable clicking them in other people's missions. I'll usually ask if it's okay first . Or wait for the mission owner to click them.
  13. My creepy character The Lollipop Snatcher has his set to "Sweet Tooth"

My little plant/earth dom fairy, Darkleaf, has hers as "Force of Nature"
  14. There's still a fair few roleplayers on the Union server!

When online we have decided some of the missions we did on our character backgrounds and such, but most of the time we go out of character and just do what makes sense.
I've never done RP in an MMORPG. What does it mean?
Roleplaying in an MMORPG is a lot like a free-form RP in many ways. You create your character, figure out their background, their motivations, their quirks etc and then interact with other characters in-character. Because there are no set 'rules' or random dice rolls each person works out how their character will react in any given situation. I highly recommend reading "Hints, Tips and Tricks for New Roleplayers" in the Roleplay section of the forums.

There's usually a few roleplayers hanging around in the blue bar in Pocket D most evenings, so feel free to pop along and lurk in a corner, or join in with the randomness. There's also a few RP bases Supergroups that do in character missions together, or just hang out and RP, as well as random RPers who will RP everywhere and anywhere - even if they're not with other roleplayers lol.

There's also the Handbook of the Union Universe which lists quite a few of the roleplayed characters, and also has a list of roleplaying supergroups - although some of it might be a little out of date.

There's also the Union Roleplayers channel in game, which is usually out of character chatter about just about anything, although it is also used to discuss plots, character ideas, and other things pertaining to roleplay. It's mainly a hang out for the roleplay community on Union. We're a friendly bunch usually (although totally nuts), and will do our best to try and answer any questions you might have.

    Hope this helps!
  16. They should hide the badge somewhere random in the game, and keep moving the location every few days.... Alternatively as soon as 1 person finds the badge, it re-locates.
  17. Darnit! I was gonna get another Jingle Jet just before the chalet closed and forgot all about it

I'm somewhat addicted to the tinkly noise it makes

    Ah well!
  18. Whoever he is, he's creepy. If he's not deep in contemplation of that tree he's standing next to, he's suddenly whirling around to randomly talk to players as they go past.

    Creepy.
  19. It doesn't want to work with Union at all Which just happens to be where all my lvl 50's are.

I actually prefer Praetoria to having to endure what they've done to the starting zones of Atlas and Mercy, not to mention the "We've made the tutorial even easier, you only have to kill 2 Shivans now!" Cripes, I mean, easier? Even an inanimate object could do the tutorial now. I learnt more from killing Infected and breaking out of the Zig.

I think they probably regret not giving us player housing

    Flying East!

    I'll miss you too!

If it hadn't been for you at the Omega Sektor I'd have never gotten my pet Destroyer for Guild Wars Nor would my 3 friends, as they were too scared to go up to you themselves, leaving me the task of wheeling over and having to ask for another 3 which you were really nice about. I'd probably have never have plucked up the courage to start the UK player meets without your help either .

Wishing you and your hubby fair winds and a safe journey, health, happiness and good luck in your new adventures
  22. Not sure if these are available in Greece, but the payment methods that are listed for me (in the UK) are:

Credit/Debit Card Plans for Visa, Mastercard and American Express - either 1 month, 3 months or 6 months.

Switch/Maestro cards for non-recurring payments for 60 days.

    Game Time Cards

    Paypal

    paysafecard

    WorldPay

*Is still gutted I didn't get to the Omega Sektor meet.
I usually give around 6 months notice for my UK player meet, and I want to start planning the next about a week after I get back from running one LOL. I know it's only small, but it's just around the corner from Omega Sektor in Birmingham, so Suzumebachi you're more than welcome to come to the one next year* . (I'm vaguely thinking first weekend in September 2012, but it's far too early to be organising anything).

*Depending on the state of my health, and whether or not Paragon would like to try and organise their own UK meet.

Yep, halo's have disappeared from the Tailor for me, even though I'd unlocked them with candy canes on most of my characters. I'm not impressed. Hoping it's a bug and not something to do with a new winter themed pack. I've /bug'd it in game.
