Sashette has:
Genin: Serven, Fallowen, Protekten
Jounin: Haiden, Peiken
Oni: Koorypten
With the final result being that, once my name is added below, you have minions who are "Servin' Sashette", "Followin' Sashette", "Protectin' Sashette", and so on...
Granted, it breaks down a bit at Peiken (which my husband now pronounces "peekin' at"), but I just didn't like Seiken quite as much. -
Is there a minimum level? (Other than 35, obviously, to get into the zone...)

Not that I'm ready to try a Hamidon raid.
So not that it really matters.
But it's a slow day at work and I'm starting to get bored... So I will ask:
Do Hami raids still happen?
I've been watching PinnBadges and see plenty of TFs rise and fall, but I haven't heard a whisper of Hamidon. Did IOs overshadow him (it?), or are they just rare enough that I haven't caught wind of one yet? -
Is it sad that reading through these macros gave me a better understanding of what Hami "is like" than anything else I've found yet?
I just can't decide whether I'm mentally playing a defender or a troller as I read... -

Personally, I prefer vendoring recipes from the market for this. Not so much when you have a recipe inventory of 4, but once you get to about 10, it's great for immediate money in the 400k range - and you can be in control of how quickly your items sell, if not how quickly you can buy them...

And if you are looking for not-RP, I have read that Infinity is generally recognized as the third most populated.
But I don't actually know first-hand, and said post might have been written five years ago for all I remember, so you might want to check its rank in the listings first.
(Which actually seems like a good idea regardless, since it will show you how populated a given server is likely to be during the times you are online...) -
Quote:Awww, I rather like it. I just want to know if I walk like that... ever...... but as a RL female, I just can't stand to watch my characters do this animation.
I'm not a RPer, so I imagine I still won't ever use it. But the backwards-walk is rather cool-looking, I think. -

Quote:Ugh, I know that hump! Now I just need to find some TF time this weekend and maybe I can get the inf to take part in this... I can't believe the energy room costs 300k prestige minimum. Ugh!This influx of prestige got me past a very boring hump - upgrading from the startup control room/generator to a proper control room and separate generator room. For a 2-man SG (for about a score of alts) this was a really big deal. Now our next upgrade can be for real functionality (TP room)!

Sheesh, if this isn't easy mode, I'm not sure I even want to try another mastermind. My ninja/poison has already ruined soloing for most of my toons.

Quote:I'm only at level 22 or so, but I must say: THIS. I took Stone Skin at level 1 (thinking passive > toggle power), but it was definitely a mistake. I died a lot until I finally picked up Rock Armor somewhere in the teens - it makes a very noticeable difference.Rock Armor should be your level 1 pick, it's S/L defense which applies to the vast majority of damage you'll take. It offers more than twice the base protection of Stone Skin... which you will also want, but it can delay a bit.
Quote:Mud Pots is the PBAOE taunt aura, damage aura and a slow. While it's a vital power to have it's also rather endurance heavy so you may want to delay it until after Stamina.
The other thing I might point out is to tinker with /bind. I'm still trying to figure out the ideal mapping, but I think Rooted, Teleport, and Taunt in particular are good to have handy - I've got rooted on my numpad0 and taunt on my numpadenter for easy access without taking up my prime attack slots on the number keys.
(I haven't taken Teleport yet - I read up on recommendations only after taking super speed, so... we'll see. So far, I'm able to toggle Rooted and/or "pull" with Taunt easily enough to get by. I expect to respec into Teleport about the time I get Granite...) -
Oooh, nonsense. This booster is all about my mastermind, I tell you!

My 39 ninja/poison soloist just went from +2/x1/boss to +3/x1/noboss. The bosses seem to make a big difference, so I'm thinking next time I play, I'll try a mission at +4/x1/noboss and see what that's like...
I so enjoy seeing the large xp numbers on a kill. -
They do seem disproportionately difficult, especially at the low levels. Have you tried putting together a team of characters close to your own level? There are usually more than a few toons in the 1-10 range hanging around Atlas Park.
And redside, I assume similar is true. I've certainly seen people trick-or-treating around the hospital in Port Oakes... -
I really enjoy my Grav/Thermal troller. With newbie slotting, I quickly progressed to being able to hold down the entire group my duo was fighting, even without AoE holds - in fact, I really only use my AoE if we get ambushed and need setup time, or if I just want to layer another hold to tack down the boss more quickly.
And solo trick-or-treating has been extremely fun lately. Though every few clicks, I do run past the door to clear out some of the trash that accumulates. -
Quote:Follow defensive.Dumb question and mini thread jack... how do you do bodyguard mode? Is it just follow aggressive? I just recently got into MM's and see this phrase, but not sure if that's it or not?
(I have read that stay and goto also work if you are in defensive?) -
Two keybinds is generally going to be better, for the reasons listed above - BUT I still have a target+cast bind set up to heal my pets. I just hold ctrl and tap the number twice. That way, I know it always casts once. Sometimes it will cast and then queue up another, but if I'm in the heat of battle, I'll move on to casting something else immediately after and it won't matter. (And if I'm not in battle, then who cares? My end isn't THAT precious anymore...)
For buffing, I would probably just use two keybinds. It's not quite so time-critical, after all, so it is probably better to be precise.
Incidentally, I use a modified version of Sandolphan's numpad binds (http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=117256 - how do you link in the text here?). Mine are set up to target a pet with Alt+that pet's key, and to heal with Ctrl+that pet's key. It is quite convenient. -
This. Bodyguard mode makes ALL the difference, IMO. Before I read about it, I could handle groups of 1-2 mobs - MAYBE 3 - but larger groups spelled death. Now? I drop a group of five purples without blinking. I stand and laugh while the purple hero wails on me in a safeguard mission, ignoring my pets completely. It's unbelievable.
EDIT: With newbie slotting, no less. I recently got a level 50 ToT group and ended up with a mediocre purple drop (confuse? sleep?) that I sold for ~25mil. Before that, my record holdings were about 2 million inf.So no special procs or anything interesting - just common IOs and a couple of cheap pet sets.
-
Thanks for all the responses. It's just a few more levels to RoA - I guess we'll see then...
-
The first character I created was an Empathy/Archery Defender... And I really regret that stupid bow & arrow. I have no debuffs, just mediocre damage. Soloing is painful. My damage contribution to a group seems lacking. So what is the upside of Archery? Or am I perhaps just not slotting heavily enough for damage?
-
Line of sight pulling is particularly effective for masterminds, also (if you don't mind me dipping into villain territory). By casting a debuff and then ducking around a corner before the mob can react, I make it come to me before my pets start to attack. This way, I am able to pull smaller groups without having to sacrifice bodyguard mode to issue a specific command to control my pets.

I am trying to set up hotkeys to switch between various attribute monitor "windows"... I currently have:
Quote:The problem is that the game apparently sees 'Energy Defense' and 'Negative Energy Defense' to both mean Negative Energy Defense. How do I get the /monitor_attribute command to recognize plain ol' Energy Defense?F9 "stopmonitorattribute Energy Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Negative Energy Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Psionic Defense$$monitorattribute Melee Defense$$monitorattribute Ranged Defense$$monitorattribute AOE Defense"
F10 "stopmonitorattribute Melee Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Ranged Defense$$stopmonitorattribute AOE Defense$$monitorattribute Smashing Defense$$monitorattribute Lethal Defense$$monitorattribute Fire Defense$$monitorattribute Cold Defense"
F11 "stopmonitorattribute Smashing Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Lethal Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Fire Defense$$stopmonitorattribute Cold Defense$$monitorattribute Energy Defense$$monitorattribute Negative Energy Defense$$monitorattribute Psionic Defense"
