Does anyone need help unlocking their Alpha slot? I can lend someone a hand if they need it.

Quote:Aye, I've but a handful of toons and usually just focused on one at a time. Nine months for Johnny B. Quantum, five for Johnny Taxibot (running a task force each week), and now I've transitioned into very slow progress because of having a toon each in blue-, red- and gold-side doing content. If you concentrate on one character it will seem short
If you spend your time playing lots and lots of Alts -- it will take a very long time.

I'll come help with this:
Johnny Taxibot (Elec/Energy blaster), with Alpha slotted

From the Nav window, clicking Clue lists all the available tidbits of info about ongoing missions for the entire team. When running teams doing various missions, it increases the fun being able to feed the latest clues to the team by improvising a variation on the latest clue.
However, when there is a large team, it can be somewhat confusing what the latest clue was. It would be good that the most recent clue be highlighted, or perhaps like the Badges list be able to list the most recent.

Quote:First off, use ParagonWiki.com as a guide to the contacts. In each contact description, make note of their level range, such as 25-29. So for whatever range that you're in, turn off your experience gain when you're at the upper range (e.g., 29). As you complete missions, you'll be introduced to new contacts in that range.Being new to the game, all of the contacts are new content and I want to experience them all. However, I'd also like to get at least one character to the level cap as quickly as I can via soloing.
My question is, is the experience gained by using the Flashback system in Ouroboros comparable to that which I'd get via moving from zone to zone meeting new contacts?
Thanks.
Instead of doing flashbacks, look up Task Forces on ParagonWiki, which are roughly spaced every five levels. If you're at the lower end when joining one of these task forces, then assuming that it isn't a speed run, then you'll have levelled about five levels. For a challenge, try increasing the difficulty by +2.
Check your server forums for the global channels that are available to you, so that you can see what task forces are being organized, and do recruiting to organize your own.

Ha ha, yes I know. However, I'm just throwing it out there in case we want to at least attempt a MoSTF. <grin>

Father will be coming:
Johnny B. Quantum (Grav/FF Controller) who can also offer to stealth and teleport everyone to the tree.
He should also be able to manage crowd control when you make a go at Recluse.

Father would like to join in. Please sign up:

From the Exalted SG website, I'm in the 1st and 8th shots wearing yellow speedos. In the 8th shot, Belle is to my right wearing a cyan swimsuit.
From the Dark Overlords SG website, my father Johnny B. Quantum is wearing his red uniform in the 2nd shot. They had just completed the strike force to find the zone overrun with zombies.

Quote:Putting the level 50 aside for a moment, here is a suggestion. Do a search for low-level toons that are looking for "missions" or "any," and recruit them to do their low-level missions. In this way, you get more enemy variety, and they get help with their missions and teaming.Without going into AE, does anyone have some suggestions of a lvl 50 story arc or contact that will give missions that are NOT the groups I've listed above? I'd like to mix it up a bit, get some Crey, Freaks, omgno DE... Who are some good contacts?

This is looking to be a fantastic event! I hope that new people hear the word about this. Make sure you tell your friends!

The store interface doesn't provide you with an easy means of determining which boosters you've already bought for your account. There's a list somewhere of all the items that have been previously bought, but those codes are useless because they don't express in plain language what the codes represent. In other words, the codes are used by in-house customer support.
However, I've noticed that if you've *already* bought a booster and you try to buy it again, the store response is something along the lines of, "Could not find an applicable account." Kind of a wonky workaround, but there you go.

Quote:Our hearts are with you and your sister. Let there be gentleness and compassion in this time that you have together.I am so sorry, but I can't make it Saturday. My sister is critically ill, I want to spend what time she has left with her. And I am just too broken up to be playing anyway. I wish you all the best.. have fun... live your life to it's fullest... and Thanks for making my CoH time so much fun.

Quote:Should be able to find people that are both red-side and blue-side. I guess gold-side can only go to the terminals in Pocket D.I was just curious how you get a start in PvP. Are there any guidelines to go by? Anything I should avoid because it's broken/useless. I was thinking of a blaster because it sound easier than having to get in Melee and chase down a moving target (I currently run a Kinetic Melee Scrapper with Super Reflexes, I've been told it's a bit sub-optimal). I was thinking of making a Stalker with a similar load-out and seeing where that went. I just didn't want to dive in without a basic understanding of what's going on.
On a side note: I'm assuming the Villains, need more men. I think I may have to go red-side for this one.
For a sense of perspective, have you looked at the PvP guides in the forums: Player Help >> Player Guides >> Guide to Guides.

After a bit of searching, I found a previous reference wherein Arcanaville explains why tankers and brutes don't get the auto-recharge of their Power Siphon.
Quote:Stalkers get Build Up, not Power Siphon, and their version of Concentrated Strike insta-recharges Build Up instead of Power Siphon. In both the scrapper case and the stalker case, Concentrated Strike does not crit for damage like scrapper and stalker attacks usually do: the insta-recharge is there as an alternative to criting for damage. Brute and Tanker versions of concentrated strike do not have the insta-recharge effect (because they had no crit to replace). -
Quote:It's -25% ACC (I was looking at it the other day), which reminds me of the other hassle that is somewhat contrary to being accepted. It can be often the case that Group Fly is being used to help the team over terrain, though under fire. The team can be doing quite well, though there will always be someone that complains about the Group Fly on account of the ACC hit.Does the -50% Acc still apply to Group Fly?
My Bots MM has it for concept and convenience, but daaaaang the bots can't keep up. So I pause every 50 yds or so to let them catch up.

If your global was "Dar of Kiban", then you would send the e-mail to:
@Dar of Kiban -
Quote:I just checked by going through the character creation process to see the power descriptions, and you are correct (not that I was doubting you).Unfortunately, that is only for scrappers.
The auto recharge of Power Siphon is the effect it gets out of a crit instead of double damage.
I don't think tanks get that benefit.
For scrappers, the power description for Concentrated Strike explicitly states that critical hits will recharge the Power Siphon. For tankers, there is no such statement.
It appears that a note needs to be added to ParagonWiki, which doesn't clarify the difference.
-Johnny -
Did you notice that Concentrated Strike provides a chance to auto recharge the Power Siphon?

Quote:Welcome to the game. Definitely check out the Player Help >> Player Guides >> Guide to Guides forum section for advice about the various blaster primaries and secondaries.I'm a bit new to City of Heroes, I have a level 33 Ice/Energy Blaster, Magic origin.
I was looking for a bit of advice, Ive been playing with Mids' Hero Designer.
Not sure if I'm doing it right =P
Aside from that, just participate in contact missions and look at your performance at each level to judge where your build needs work (The AE missions can kinda throw you off when the author uses custom enemies). If you take care whilst levelling up, then later you'll be able to exemplar knowing that you'll be effective at the lower level.
Try to choose abilities that you think will be commonly used, as opposed to something that seems nifty but never use in practice.
Doing a respec later is quite easy to get and perform. Some advice though...keep notes of what powers/enhancements that you chose at each level the first time through. This way, you can tweak the build and use your notes to do the respec in just a few minutes.

Quote:Indeed what a surprise! This needed to get fixed for the longest time, and it's good that we don't have to trip over the level restriction anymore.OMG! OMG! OMG! Eden is fixed. EDEN IS FIXED!
I honestly gave up all hope on this getting addressed. I offer a sincere, hearty thank you to the staff for fixing this to work like other trials/tfs/sfs. This is great.

One bit about blasters is that they are *best* with the AoE damage, which is fantastic for helping your team deal with swarms of enemies.
Yes, Energy Manipulation has good boosts and fun attacks. Definitely want the Build Up and Power Boost, with perhaps Boost Range.
-Johnny -
In a previous thread about this subject, someone had made a fantastic suggestion to put a button the reactor core that the team lead could press to let the next group of enemies through. This at least addresses those long pauses between waves.
