P.E.R.C. Presents: Summer Bash!
This is looking to be a fantastic event! I hope that new people hear the word about this. Make sure you tell your friends!
-Johnny
The more the merrier! We're going to be giving out a LOT of random goodies to people who show up, too. "What kind of goodies?" I hear a completely made-up spectator ask. Things like...
* Luck of the Gambler +Recharge IOs
* Miracle +Recovery IOs
* Numina's +Regen/Recovery IOs
* Tier 4 Inspirations
* Procs, procs, and more procs!
* Stealth IOs
* Kinetic Combat IOs
* Basilisk's Gaze IOs
* Purple IOs (from mez AND damage sets)
* PvP IOs
...And the list goes on. So, see you guys this weekend and don't forget: Bring your bathing suits!
Sounds like a fantastic set of events!
I'll be there with Samhain Knight for heroes and Mad Halloween Jack for villains (he needs those SFs!).
Race Course:
The path for the race is...
Atlas Park --> Skyway City --> Talos Island
You can view maps of the zones at Badge-Hunter.com.
Additional Info:
1) Travel powers are allowed.
You can use any travel powers at your disposal, including temporary ones gained from vendors, day jobs, and safeguard/mayhem missions.
2) Outside means of transportation are not allowed.
This includes SG teleporters, mission/Pocket D teleporters, Ouroboros, Vanguard depots, monorails, and use of Recall Friend. This doesn't include outside buffs. If you're seen going to a zone outside of the race course it can be grounds for disqualification.
3) You'll need to join the event league to participate.
Before the race starts players will be invited to a league. Only people on the league will be eligible to compete and win prizes. The deadline for entry is 5 PM Eastern sharp, and the race will be starting a few minutes afterwards. Make sure to be on time if you want to race!
It's Trivial!
This special summer themed edition of It's Trivial! will bring to you our new format! In the new season, EVERYONE PLAYS!
Additional Info:
1) There will be 20 questions asked in two rounds. Each question is worth 25 million influence.
2) The first person to answer correctly in REQUEST CHAT wins the money for that question.
3) At the end of the two rounds, the payouts will be made in a timely manner.
4) The contestant with the highest winnings will be asked a bonus question.
The player with the highest score will be given a choice: They can answer a single question to double their score (losing nothing if they get it wrong), or go Triple or Nothing! If they answer correctly they will receive triple their original prize, but if they answer wrong they lose it all!
Scavenger Hunt
Players of all levels are welcome to join this event. Travel powers will give you an advantage, but no waypoint will be in a position that requires you to be able to Fly, Super Jump, or Teleport.
Additional Info:
1) There will be 5 waypoints.
There will be 5 players serving as waypoints. These people are: Taxibot Belle, Johnny Taxibot, Tiberius Kren, Head Cutter and Die-Hard. They will be spread across Talos Island, and it's your job to find them!
2) Clues for each waypoint will be given in Request Chat as the game progresses.
Hints to each person's location will be given out in a random order. It doesn't matter what order you find them in, so long as you find them all. If you get stumped shout out "Need a clue for _____'s location!" Just make sure to specify which waypoint you need a tip for!
3) Each waypoint will give you 1 piece of salvage and 1 secret code word.
You'll need the piece of salvage and code word from all 5 waypoints to win! The person serving as a waypoint will give you both of these once you find and approach them. Make sure to write down the code so you don't forget!
4) R-Tech is the start and finish line.
R-Tech will be waiting on the beach near Spanky's boardwalk (where everyone will be gathered at the start). Once you've visited each of the 5 waypoints, return to her and send a trade invite. The first 3 people to show her all 5 pieces of salvage and send her a tell with all 5 code words win! Everyone else is welcome to keep any salvage they acquire while on the hunt.
IDFS Costume Contest: Swimsuit Edition
To participate all you need to do is show up in Pocket D and line up with the other contestants while dressed in the night's theme: Best swimsuit. Players of all levels and alignments may participate, as this event will be held in a co-op zone.
Additional Info:
1) No AoE buff powers or powers that affect other players please.
If you have a power that you would like to show off that affects others, such as Force Fields or Thermal Shields, feel free to use them on a contest judge.
It sure looks like this event is going to be lots of fun! I hope we can get lots of people to come out to the events and join in on the fun.
Oh no, that's reminds me, I need to make a Lifeguard Costume!

Tip: The gate from Atlas Park to Skyway City is on the south side of Atlas. The gate to Talos Island from Skyway City is on the east side of Skyway. Feel free to practice your race routes before the big event!
Edit: The reason why options like Ouroboros and the monorails are off limits is because, well, there wouldn't be much of a race otherwise. People could simply run from under the statue to the train station and go immediately to Talos. Or Atlas --> Skyway --> Talos. Then it would all come down to who has the fastest loading time, as opposed to who knows their way around and/or moves the fastest having an edge.
Great Party in Paragon City! Looking forward to tomorow's villain party!
Many thanks to the dozens of people who shows up for the fun today! Together we had a great party and fought off an army of Kronos Titans, Lusca, and a zone full of magical banners and their accompanying fiends!
One of the Rikti costume codes and a jetpack code was handed out today; the other two will be handed out sometime tomorrow!
Here's a picture from the beach party, about the time we were playing It's Trivial!:
Thanks a lot for the event you guys. Was indeed a lot of fun, as was dressing up as a lifeguard! I look forward to participating in more of your guys' events.

Just wanted to state what a fantastic job PERC did this weekend!
R-Tech, Ska-, Taxibots and others in the crew rotated the events through with a nice, even flow, even when several Chonos Titans attacked us on Saturday in Talos Island after the foot race, and a zombie apocalypse dropped on us in Cap on Sunday after the Virgil Tarikoss SF completion.
The prizes were magnificent, the positive upbeat and event demeanor was intoxicating, and Paragon Broadcast Services (PBS) radio show on Saturday, courtesy of DJ Foxxy, capped off the whole weekend event.
I truly enjoyed the teaming, fun and energy of all that participated. Running around in swim wear taking out Chronos Titans and AVs in SFs made it all the more memorable.
I'll be posting some links to our SG and VG website's photo galleries that will have some great shots of the swimsuit-clad activities of this event later on this week.
To R-Tech and the crew...thank you for all you did. Major Kudos!
And congrats to all the prize winners! Well done!

"Hello my honey, hello my darling, hello my ragtime, summertime gal..."
Congratulations all around to PERC, the Taxibots, and Paragon Broadcasting for organizing such a thoroughly enjoyable multi-layered event. In particular, the summer-themed trivia contest was great fun (and extremely remunerative to the quick thinkers and quick typists), and the multiple GMs in Talos and IP, topped off with a coincidental Deadly Apocalypse in the former, were awesome fights. The Summer Bash was also a thoroughly successful proof-of-concept for using the league channel for coordinating an event. Gratz again!
Finally got around to editing some of the images for the summer bash!
Here's two of them:
I have others under the following links:
Heroes: 9 July
Photo Gallery from the Exalted SG website
Villains: 10 July
Photo Gallery from Dark Overlords SG website
If anyone has any trouble seeing these, let me know; I can send via PMs or email if you like.
From the Exalted SG website, I'm in the 1st and 8th shots wearing yellow speedos. In the 8th shot, Belle is to my right wearing a cyan swimsuit.
From the Dark Overlords SG website, my father Johnny B. Quantum is wearing his red uniform in the 2nd shot. They had just completed the strike force to find the zone overrun with zombies.
