Resetting the game password worked for me.

Yup. Apparently something got corrupted
-
Scene shift - a sun drenched beach, with a burning resort behind it. A figure - dressed from the waist down in beach shorts and sandals and from the belt up in a Longbow outfit - lounges with a drink in one hand and a sat-phone in the other.
"... so I said. 'Look, I don't give two shites about who's in there. Tell the little vegetarian bastich and the rest of his pretentious granola-sucking, glue-huffing, tree-hugging half-wits the world jokingly refers to as musicians that you made a mistake. I booked that suite three months ago, and I want it... now.' So... then the frog looks and me and says... get this... 'Get over it.' [pause] Well, ok... maybe I overreacted a little... but I was jet-lagged. [beep} Ok... fortheloveof... Hold on... I gotta take this. [click] This is Crossbow... start talkin' or start runnin' [pause] No way... [pause] No Way... [Pause] NO WAY! [click] Dude... I gotta run. Catch ya back at the Isles.'
The figure tosses back the last of his drink and hops out of the chair, yelling out to the blond just coming in from the surf.
"Yo... Gwyn... hate to break up the party but Daddy's got to run. We're gettin' the Band back together!...
... Now where the hell'd I put my pants?" -
Quote:I have to agree with Sam about this. The current Arachnos order always bothered me a bit. The very motif of the organization. is a creature that's very orderly, methodical and patient, but the whole, attack each other freely to prove who's the fittest doesn't see to jib with it.Fixing villain-side would require giving Recluse a little more dignity as the de facto lord of the realm, possibly by giving him a zone that's less of a shithole, and at the same time giving players more opportunities to oppose him successfully, giving them the sense of having overcome a credible threat. Right now, the game's biggest fail is Arbiter Daos threatening to bring the full might of Arachnos on my head and the game playing my character like he's actually intimidated. Yeah, Arachnos, the dudes I've been slapping around like errant stepchildren since I was level 1, and I'm supposed to be afraid of them? Give me a break!
I'd love for Arachnos to be recreated with Recluse putting his foot down and saying enough is enough. Rearrange the system to say you can challenge anyone you like, but in a way that it doesn't disrupt the day-to-day operations of Arachnos (much like ST:TOS Terran Empire, challenge as you will, but if it should endanger the Empire's goals then you face the Booth.)
"Huntsman Jones! With respect. you've again proven your inexperience detracts from your ability to lead effectively for Lord Recluse. Since the operation is now concluded... barely, I demand you stand with me before the Arbiters and be judged.... or face me in the Web of Equals" -
My two cents:
Red-side needs to feel more "villian-y"
How I would do it:
1) Concentrate on the solo side of villainy. Villains don't tend to play well with others (just ask the Sinister Six or the Rogues) so lets see more arcs with heroic and civilians targets and a bit more skulduggery. For example, missions or arcs that another villain shows up to team or oppose you, only to betray or back you up... make in unpredictable on what they're going to do.
2) Smaller arcs... "schemes" if you will, with a "payoff mission at the end. Have certain mini-arcs be pieces to larger schemes to be perpetrated in the future.
3) Hero-involvement. How-bout a optional mission system that lets you cross hero zones to get to and from your missions? A little light PvPish, I know - but whats the fun in being a super-villain without a bit of hero-meddling? Maybe the mission alerts a random hero in the zone with a message that reads "there's a villain in your area, making his escape... stop him!" then give the villain two minutes to evade, and the hero two minutes to catch him before he "escapes." The hero catches you, you split the xps and the villain finds himself in an "escaping from jail" mission.
4) Hero-involvement, part duex. How-bout an Arch-Nemesis system? Take the above system. Then, if you choose to be someone's arch nemesis (a mutual agreement, like a leveling pact) you *always* know when they're in a zone you are as well, and vice-versa... maybe even allowing you to enter each others (solo) missions to attempt to foil them. "Oh Crap... Captain Gitinmyway, again!?!"
Thoughts? -
You know they really, REALLY, mean "extended" when they stop updating. 8D
-
Actually, I'm on the other side of the fence. I don't feel that any character should be dependent on a team dynamic to be functional.
Don't get me wrong... having powers and abilities that aid or support the others around you is fine and good. But Self-Reliance is the very nature of the superhero genre. Sure, they are superhero teams but those teams are usually formed to deal with Major Events or issues to big for them to handle on their own... not to take down the local drug dealer and his ninja crew.
I personally think that every AT should have the all tools it needs to solo all but the biggest threats effectively, and when those challenges present themselves, then it needs to be "all hands on deck!" time.
But that's just me (and thousands of superheroes through the ages 8D), YMMV -
Quote:I don't we'll see anything until tomorrow at this point. I'm sure everyone knows about it by now, but with Pax going on and it being a Sunday, there's probably only one guy with a broom there right now anyway.ive been seeing in some threads close to 18 hours now, im sure it will be back up within the next day or so
They'll wander in sometimes in the morning and go "Hey... store was down. I bet that pissed some people off. Ah well, we're going F2P in a few weeks anyway... where's the coffee?" -
Well... I'd personally like to thank NCSoft for yet again taking my one chance to play this week and screwing it over, without even a single official peep.
Where's my polo mallet? -

Thanks all. Unfortunately, after reading all the builds I made a mistake of clicking on Local Man's Ill/Rad 'troller guide, and promptly went with that
I think I'll head more the emp defender route for my first emp -
Quote:So, if there finally a list of the pricing we can expect now, so were can see what our 400pp a month will (or won't) buy us?A few questions for those that went to Comicon.
Are the new costume slot purchases global? 800pp per slot per character seems excesive to me I think?
Also... Zone Teleport. How exactly does it work? TPs you to the adjacent zones? It brings down a list like the Train and give you access to all zones you have visited before? I love teleport, so I'd like to know a bit more about this! -
As per the guide:
1) What will you primarily be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
***
Primarily Gaming with Web and Writing on the side
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
***
I'd like to keep it around $1000 USD, but there's some small flexability, maybe $100?
3) Where do you live? This is important as it affects what vendors you may buy from and how much shipping costs might be.
***
North Carolina, US
4) Are you planning to buy or build?
***
Never built a system before, and with the last couple of years being "special" not sure my frustration tolerance is up to learning so buying is preferable.
5) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need. If you're unsure what exactly you need, say so.
***
I'm unsure of most of it. I this would be a new system from the ground up, with my old system being re-tasked for other purposes. CPU should be something I have some growing room in, same with Video and Audio. Lots of Ram and a large HD or two. A good read/write drive. Network capable.
6) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
***
No
7) Will you be overclocking?
***
No
8) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
***
I have an old 18" Trinitron CRT from dell, but it's a huge, hot monster.
9) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
***
Once I have a goal I'll know more, at least a couple of months from now (unless financing is available)
10) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
***
Um... err... ah... Blue?
11) Any specific must-have features? Must be able to max out Ultra-Mode? Must have 6+GB of RAM? Must have an SSD? etc.
***
I'm just looking for a new machine that I'll be able to run current and future games on it. I'd like to get at least 5 years life out of it
My current system is a 2.8 Gz single core, with a Radeon 9520 and 1.5 Gb of Ram. I pretty much hit the wall with games I like a few years back, and now a lot of the new textures and lighting effects in CoH are giving me fits
12) Are there any vendors/brands you'd specifically prefer to use?
***
Nope, although I have had great luck with Seagate as far as drives are concerned. And my Trinitron CRT has been an old reliable warhorse for more than 13 years.
13) Are there any vendors/brands you'd specifically prefer to avoid?
***
Nope, although as the years have gone by, I've chafed a bit of the restrictiveness of HPs shelf-bought stuff
14) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? (Note: If your current OS came with your computer, odds are that it is NOT transferable.)
***
Nope.
So... here goes... *straps a honey bun on either side of his head and talks to the trash can* ...Help me, Obi Wan Kenobi,,, you're my only hope. -
Imagine that Corrs and 'Trollers aren't interchangeable 8D
Anywho, here build, look, make talk stuff.

OK, here's a question. I'm thinking about a /emp as well. I know I'll probably be soloing more than a bit of the time (due to the sporadic nature of my play time sometimes). Would you still recommend Illusion over something a bit more... err... visceral?
-
How DARE make a reasonable and legitimate request.... what are you? Some kind of anarchist?! OMG WTF LOL CPU FBI DEA BBQ ATM UPS /ragequit
-
The Server Status page tends to be increasingly inaccurate. As far as I know, It's still down.
-
Ok, at this point I think we should demand the Devs make a "Healer" AT... just so these idiots will leave Defenders alone.
-
If I had to hazard a guess. I'd say they probably changed the not-Wreckers accents from redneckish to hoolganish as to not offend the millions of fans of left-turn racing.
-
Ok, I saw it yesterday.
The good:
1) It is NOT TF2
2) The primary story-line
3) Optimus and friends actually act like soldiers
4) Lazerbeak was a nasty, nasty piece of work.
5) Alan Tudyk
6) Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is superior to Megan Fox in every way.
The bad:
1) Megatron is again, down-played. I get he was injured and not functioning at full power, but damn.... just once I wanted to see the warlord/gladiator that is Megatron.
2) Shockwave. Yes he looked damn cool but where was cold, calculating military operations commander? He's reduced to just a 2nd tier character to be overcome, then a full blown villain in his own right... which is a shame.
3) Soundwave. Still waiting for him to actually show up in the movies and stomp the crap out of these pretenders. This time, they even avoid giving him the more traditional voice.
4) The Witwicky's Comedy Hour, Part 3: Bay still doesn't get why we're coming to see the movie. Again, the comedy relief takes up too much of the first half of the movie, and this time it's so out of place it becomes a distraction.
5) John Malkovich and Ken Jeong: Absolutely useless non-characters. In Malkovich's case, intensified by the fact they could have actually had *him* play a much more confident and menacing Dylan.
The Ugly:
1) The Wreckers. Brought down from an elite "dirty jobs" strike force, to three product-placement psychopaths.
2) Bay's "Scotched Earth" ending: Killing the majority of the major villains of the franchise (Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream, etc.). It's almost as if he's saying. "Now they'll HAVE to start over."
Well.. there's always Unicron.
Over all: It's a good summer popcorn movie to hold us over until Cap hits towards the end of the month. Seeing it as a 2D matinee, I felt like I got my money's worth. Using the F. Paul Wilson "Fast Forward" scale where lower is better. I'd give it about a 3 (meaning I'd fast-forward through about 30% of it.) -
I'm pretty sure that Wolverine: Origins, mess that it was, is now considered outside the "Singerverse"
-
Quote:I called it!supposed spoilers have hinted at that being the possible ending...which made doubters groan even louder for predictability reasons.
for myself...I just don't know. I somehow manage Bayformers...but not what's possibly happening here.
Quote:My guess... Caeser and company not only use the "uplift gas" to become smarter, but that sometime in the movie the "stoopid hoomans" come up with a "downfall gas" which gets used on them, thus making them the primitives we see in the earlier films.
