Could use "Scare" from Mental Manipulation, if it was tweaked to AoE flavour, or failing that a Fearsome Stare clone?

Bluntly, the game's called City of Heroes/Villains, not City of Teachers. While I'm only too happy to explain things in-game and on-fora to the best of my ability and have gone out of my way to help new players of low levels I thoroughly resent being expected to do so for people who've not made any particular effort to learn stuff for themselves while nonetheless enjoying the (dubious) benefits of high-level play.
And, as Techbot said: not every player responds well even to extremely politely and carefully-worded tells suggesting they try thing X (which, again, I go out of my way to do). I don't want to be one of the "problem" players in this game, and I truly don't want to come off as a US forum-style LRN2PLAYN00B type, but once one's been burned a couple of times there's not much incentive to do anything other than fill one's ignore list and team only with players one already knows. -
Would laugh if you were forced to pay a visit to Bat'Zul to get your 'marriage' annulled...
But, sorry Hey, unsigned; I don't think "forcing" RP on people is a great idea, and with a bonus/badge attached, that's likely how it would be seen. -

Case in point - The Freedom Phalanx TF's are well overdue an overhaul.

Go. Hunt. Kill mages / clockwork / freaks / council / Crey / DE.
...Yeah. Though in several cases, the unique map designs for the final parts or great AV designs almost redeem the somewhat-samey stories (ran a Synapse TF yesterday, and three identical missions on the fly, with 2/3 identical maps, is just... meh.) -
One can only imagine the US forum meltdown. City of Heteros, then, I s'pose...

Westin Phipps' arc is, IMO, the best-written one in the game, because its the only one that actually affected me; there's a palpable sense of creepiness and evil to it that is lacking in even the other, very well-written high-level villain arcs.

Not only do you permanently have the arms, they'll remain even if you second-build a Bane or Huntsman, and they persist across any second-to-fifth slot costumes you make. Personally, I think they look awesome, so it doesn't bother me.
I can't recall whether you're stuck with them even if you respec both builds out of Crab Spider, though. -
/signed, but it'd need to be 200 or so; Nemesis snipers are pretty common in missions on both sides, be they Comets or Tirailleurs.
Whether they could code it to only pick up on non-mission (i.e. "outside" snipers, I've no idea, but that would presumably allow the requirement to be dropped to something attainable redside, where they are indeed vastly less common. -
Well, it's not gangbusters for soloing, but then Defenders aren't (largely speaking) going to win any prizes for power-soloing anyways.
I think Luminara over on the US fora is running a TA/Dark at the moment, and from what I can recall she reckons stuns are where its at (though IIRC she's gone with the Dark APP as well, which might be needed to get the Mag up to stun bosses via stacked Dark Pit / Oppressive Gloom). -
Yeah, those first few levels are pretty harsh times, but TA is one of those sets that seems to benefit greatly from slotting procs; just threw the Chance for Smashing from Impeded Swiftness into it and the extra orange numbers are always nice to see. Acid, of course, is getting Achilles Heel; OSA might well get something tasty like the Shield Breaker damage proc (and plausibly another Achilles, because AoE -Res is win combined with -Res from Acid and Disruption). Might even go with the Call of the Sandman self heal into Poison Gas for a bit of extra fun.
If there was ever a build that needs a ton of global recharge though... *starts saving for purples* -
DAAAAARK VENGEANCE!
(figured it was beyond time for a Misfit shout-out) -
What Sitriel said. The in-game lore (wisely IMO) completely avoids any issues relating to sexuality, short of "such and such is the child of so and so".
-
Personally, I'm hanging on for the updated MA toolkit, and then I'm going to rework the hell out of one of my arcs and make the final decision on what I want in slot 3. Getting the 66 plays I've had on my first and "main" arc has been like getting blood out of a stone, so I'll eat paint before I republish that.

If I'm on and you guys are running, I'd be happy to join and help where I can - most likely on Widow Black.

And the cretin of the decade award goes to... me!
Apologies for thread derail due to rank stupidity, everybody. -
From memory, Thorny, there's a kind of sunken area where Sky Skiffs can usually be found, and some buildings nearby to that, packed quite close together; in the alleys between them, and in the immediate vicinity, there seems to be a largish quantity of Warrior Boss spawns.
Do bear in mind that all this is from my typically hazy memory.
Looking at the map on ParaWiki, I'd say you'd want to have a search around the NE of the zone; I think I can see the buildings I was running around there.
(This may not be even fractionally as useful for the Weatherman badge as the mission mentioned upthread, but again, from experience, I could get seven or eight at a time when I ran up there, go a couple hundred yards SW and fight a few Sky Skiffs, then go back to discover more Warriors. If it helps at all, I would likely have had diff set to Ruthless, and I know I was running solo in a largely empty SC map). -
I'm probably being dumb as usual, but can't these guys be relatively quickly found in Siren's Call? Up to about 60-odd on my widow from a couple hours' solo effort *there's an area where about 7-8 can be found at any given point.
(Edited cos I suspect I overcooked the number of bosses to be found first time around) -
But.. but.. but I *did* upgrade my PC
Bah! -
It would help a *bit*, but there's not really much you can do about lag with 50-odd heroes and villains all spamming powers as hordes of Rikti spawn around them. Even with bikinis on and gfx turned down to "City of borderline wireframe toons", the servers can only handle so much.

I presume you're aiming for an "Iceman" style sliding effect, but can you change the colour of the power slide effect? ISTR its kind of purple which might not work thematically for you.

"Joining a team and having a player with the trick arrow set on. [they are so rare now!]"
Just dinged 35 on my first TA/A (and my first Defender) yesterday. I'm not certain I'm ever going to play anything else again!
