Doing it over and over because you think it's funny is definitely being a jerk. Especially if it's done in order to prevent the person from leaving the zone. You can't leave if you keep getting teleported before you can get out of the hospital, and you couldn't even just stay dead until they got bored and left because of the auto-respawn feature that they added for some reason. I've had that happen to me, and logging out was the only way I could get out of the situation.

People who do things like THAT are the undesirables I was talking about. The people who just like to PvP are not. I never said all PvPers are jerks, because I know from my own experience that it isn't true.

I don't mind losing a PvP fight. It happens frequently, and I don't get bent out of shape about it. If they threw something at me I wasn't expecting I might even ask some questions about their build. If it was an especially good fight that I lost I'll make sure to give them props on it.

I have no problem with losing at PvP. If I keep coming back when I get smoked....well, I was asking for it wasn't I? The problem I had was with people being ***holes until someone logs out because they had no other way to get out of the situation.

Jaden Toreth was/is the only person that I know to do that on the reg. And yes HE is a jerkface.

That someone is forum moderator. It means you probably shouldn't have said what you said. And I am sure they just missed the remains of it in the other post.
Forum moderators send a private message to your control panel when posts are deleted, and why they are deleted. I got nothing from a mod.
It was actually a positive post with nothing bad in it.
  3. Reduced mez effects and resistance to all damage type givin to ALL players inzone elimanated almost all use for /thermal corruptors.

Suppression while healing along with heal decay took care of the rest.

I know, I used to turn zones when id log onto my thermal.
Now? What can thermal corruptors do as a "support" players?
  4. Yall dont know when to shut up.

  7. Fun combos id recommend to a player that wants to branch out after a focus of melee toons?

dark/dark defender. This would be my first choice by far. This toon made me think differently about defenders in general.

Empathy. Yes i know they can be heal bots. But gettin on a team with other defender/trollers and giving them mez protection with CM and forting up blasters is hellafun. At least for me. One good emp can turn a decent team into monsters if they know what they're doin.

rad/fire blaster. AoE blapper anyone? Mines brought out on teams with good tanks only.
ice/dev blaster. a troller with damage.

Fire/rad troller. It steamrolls. Mines just a baby (lvl 26ish) its still hella-fun though.
Grav/storm troller I cant say enough good things about this combo. Takes awhile to really get goin but this is a monster in team and solo play.

earth/fire domintor. Area denial with awesome damage. great team dom.

These are just a few specific combo's ive rolled and had a blast playin.
I've no doubt theres TONS of other great combo's out their.

    Think of WS's as leechers.
my power names might be off a little.

human form has a power called sunless mire. Its like soul drain from dark melee.
Jump into the middle of a group and sunless mire, the more enemies hit the more damage bonus you get. switch to nova form and unleash AoE destruction. Swap back into human form and hit a power called stygian circle. It leeches health and endurance outta dead bodies for you.

Run to next group, switch to dwarf (it has another "sunless mire" power) power-up, switch to human, sunless mire again for now a double damage buff, blast in nova form. etc, etc.

Theres alot of other powers built on the same concept.
Is it dark detonation that explodes off a dead enemy? Target dead enemy and you can damage others. Your pet, dark extraction I think its called, is formed from a dead body.

Im not sure if eclipse is a drain as well. As my WS is only lvl 32ish and hasnt been played in months.
  9. Im lookin for a link to find exactly what was in the patch update today.
Any help from the CoX community?

A red name was honest, He came out and said I13 wasnt for us and got fired the next day.
Honesty will get you no where.

Standing positional defenses in the 40% range. Though this will change with the Botz nerf.
Its stupidly powerful, and unless im a total idiot I cant die on the toon.

Soul drain and dark consumption do surprising amounts of damage when fury is full. Somewhat making up for dm/'s lack of AoE damage. Unfortunately their recharge is what it is.

This toon is easily able to be main battle tank on any team I play him on.
  13. While playin the game, ill scroll my mouse to a power, inspiration, recipe, salvage, etc etc, that i wanna click, and suddenly my mouse icon is on the other side of the screen.

Or ill be panned far off on my camera view and then suddenly im in first person perspective.

    Weird!
    Anyone else notice this?
  14. I thought it was no more than 36 slots on any given server. So if a person has 36 slots already on a server, the free slot is only available on another server.

  16. I dont think you'll get full benefit of your pocket kin with /wp. As it doesnt need endurance and +recharge from speed boost wont help anything in /wp either.

dark armor on the other hand will benefit greatly from a pocket kin.
Its an end *****. ID will fill the knockback hole of /da and fulcrum'd deathshroud is beastly.

I'll just repeat it again cause people seem to be missing my point.

If you want to solo quickly ice blast is a great choice, just make sure you get PL'd to lvl 30 because it is tied for the worst choice prior to that.

    1. He's an on again off again player
    2. He's only reached 50 once (and it was a toon that hits its stride very early and just gets stronger and stronger)
    3. He's going to be evaluating it against the scrapper (decent solo from the start, amazing later on) and a tanker (generally solid from the get go (every set other than /em, /ice, and /elec has decent damage from lvl 10 on).
    4. He eventually wants to be powerful and clear mass spawns

Based on that criteria ice is going to be total fail unless he magically appears in late game with a fully built toon.

Id say any defender combo is gonna be fail. None in my experience solo quickly enough compared to a scrapper that will keep an on again/off again player content.

Play a defender for what they are, team support!

Carnies at +0 or +1 are a cakewalk. Higher than that and they start to seriously put the pain on me.

    Vanguard? Forget about it.
Pretty much my experience as well.

Of course, id say billz build is waaayyyy better than mine. As im running with no fighting pool and no steadfast unique.
I do have aid self though, and with shockwaves knock, that gives me plenty of time to heal up when any hits do get through.

Come botz nerf I will do a respec and elimanate the guassians set from follow up, drop elude and grab tough/weave. If i can fit in FA and PP from the epics I think over all ill have a tougher, more sturdy /SR toon than before.

*No the typical toon does not take 40% of their time to reach 30, but it very likely does on one as slow as pre BiB iceblast.

I dunno, but if you recall the devs said that the average player doesn't even surpass lvl 30 (or something like that) and a person asks for a good solo'ing combo from an AT that isn't generally considered to be a strong solo'er. I figure if you want someone to stick with something when the deck is stacked against it why make it an even bigger hurdle? Play a set that is good from out of the gate imo.

OP can do w/e they like, but ice blast is a bad choice for a defender if they aren't extremely patient (for solo play), just like I suggest people stay away from cold domination on corruptors if they aren't extremely patient. Cold dom, just like iceblast turns out to be one of the better sets if you wait it out and spend some sizable inf on it.

*My brute is lvl 39 in 46 hrs. I too have spent a lot of time on the market as the toon is fully frankenslotted and has just shy of 200M. I have solo'd the toon the entire time. Actually the one night I forgot the game was running and the toon sat at the mission entrance overnight. I'd say it is probably level'd at about 1 lvl per 30 mins. So ya about twice as fast. Not bad for almost no aoe damage. when I roll up a toon to "solo quickly" I do so with the intention of it not being slow. I don't expect my toons to go the speed of a brute, but I also don't expect it to go the speed of an ice controller, which is about what pre BiB ice blast does for defenders.

    ymmv.
Im not arguing the merits of /ice blast for defenders in solo speed.
I will argue that the time spent gettin to lvl 30 is trivial compared to the 30 to 50 game.

If the average ingame time to lvl a toon to 50 is approx 150-200 hours (my guestimation though I believe I read somewhere the devs stated that was the avg time to 50. But i could be wrong), a player with any knowledge of how this game plays could get a toon to 30 in probably 25-30 hours. Faster still if you team a little, ie sewer runs to lvl 10 in 2 hours.

And as to ingame time that a character has, I have a mind/ice dom that is lvl 44ish with probably 2500 hours of playtime. What does that mean? That mind/ice sux and cant lvl? Hardly.
More like, I used to pvp alot and didnt care about getting to 50.

But ya, its the journey and not the destination in this game and YMMV.

  22. /Cold would be awesome for this brute
Hoarfrost's +hp buff + energize would be huge regen. Enough to cover anything that got through your /cold shields. If your brute buddy built a little defense into his build

I rather like the proactive support role /cold plays than the watching-health-bar-playin-whack-a-mole that I think /thermal is.
But thermal shields do look way cooler. And thermal is a great set in its own right.

What primary/ you choose matters as well.
Are you two gonna big game hunt? AV challenges and GM fights.
Or steamroll missions set for +8 spawns?

Sonix/ would help destroy single targets way quicker and add a little AoE damage.
Fire/ would help destroy large spawns quicker.
  23. Impervium armor gives a nice max +endurance boost for only 4 slots. Or maybe its a recovery bonus. Either way, thats the set Id slot into /da shields

Tricks ive found to make /da more fun/playable...

Knock protection IO's instead of accrobatics.
Oppressive gloom can be slotted with cheap stun sets that give great recovery/endurance bonus's.
    Getting your endurance accolades.
Theft of Essense +end proc is a game changer, if you can find one.
  24. Id keep BotZ in a /da build regardless of % of defense giving only for the knock protection.
