  1. Nope, I enjoy the new PvP more than the previous version.
  2. Subjective Feedback
I would like to see a chance to earn these enhancements upon being defeated by another player (Say about half the chance of getting one if you defeat another player). It would encourage a mentality of "It doesn't matter if you win and lose, as long as you play the game". It would encourage players who are new to the system ("Oh geez I got my butt kicked but I got this great enhacnement that dropped so now I can slot this and do better next time!") and generally encourage people to finish fights to the bitter end instead of the hit and run tactics.
  3. The level scales to the available range that the enemies are in.

If you want a low level mission with baddies only being from level 1- 14 include some skulls, who don't spawn above 14. Outcasts are limited to level 20. ect ect
  4. I've found there are instances where the costume chance animation doesn't work, my character just sits there for a few seconds then changes costume, with no "ooomph!" to it.

I think this may be related to using the mission architect computer but I am unsure.
  5. Name: Gang Land - The Tesla Fidelilty Cannon
    Arc ID #: 4424
    Factions: Outcasts, Skulls
    Length: Very Long
Difficulty: Easy, Difficult Boss + Ambush in 3rd mission
Summary: When a powerful technological device is discovered in Port Oakes everyone wants to get their hands on it, including you. It is a fight to the finish to possess the most powerful force the Rogue Islands has ever seen. A story of love, hate and world domination. A level 1-14 Port Oakes Adventure.

    Arc #2007, "The Green Brew"
tl;dr: 1 star. Offenses: Killer GM

Green Dwarf (author insert) needs you help in creating the perfect....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just as a warning to anyone else doing this arc, Green Dwarf sent me a comment on one of my arcs along the lines of "Hey I liked your arc and I gave it 5 stars, come play mine next!"

Okay well, I thought, why not he was nice enough to play my arc I'll give his a run (oh how nieve am I...) I get through it, even after the awful Hamidon encounter and come to the conclusion it wasn't really my cup of tea, I give him a 3 star rating and send him a few comments about why, nothing insultling.

Green Dwarf immediately marks down the arc he'd given a 5 star to me, marks down the other arc I had, then logs on another account to do the same thing again.

So well, be warned when giving comments on peoples arcs you don't know. But hey, 70 free tickets.
  7. Try to play my arc Gangland on test, while alot of it seems like another hired thug missions, there's a twist at the end you may enjoy.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
No, but as any emp, he could be extremely helpful to any team. Compared to now, where the toon is completely useless. Can't kill anything OR be an effective buffer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay I won't argue with your own experiences, though I'll say, you and say a scrapper vs my brute alone, you would likely win the fight.

    [ QUOTE ]
Fire/Fire Brute - Was powerful before I13....didn't need any buffs really. After I13, it's pretty FotM. Not quite as much as SS/fire, but close.

    [/ QUOTE ]

o.O My brute was powerful in Pre-13? I'll give to you that anything with fire damage couldn't hurt me but otherwise, with 5 full purples sets and all the best IO's, my brute still couldn't win anything.

In teams I'd get destroyed by ranged attacks.
In 1 vs 1 matches I could fight some tanks and scrappers to a stand still, but I rarely ever got a kill. Perhaps you were doing something I wasn't.

    [ QUOTE ]
Nightwidow - Godlike before I13....overpowered to the point of brokenness after I13.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No arguements there, though I still lose fights on her.

    [ QUOTE ]
Sonic/sonic Corruptor and a Rad/Rad defender - Both MUCH worse in I13 than before. The sonic is flat out useless now since the buffs do basically nothing, and the rad is a joke compared to what he was before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think my sonic corruptor is still a solid addition to a team. Flies in, gives some team buffs (they aren't as big as they were pre-I13 but every little bit helps). I do pretty well with her and I bet a better PvP'er than myself would do a lot better.

My Rad, yeah at my Rad, though I bet if I had a real travel power instead of Teleport he would do better.
  9. Well at least the PvP IO's should help a bit, now people can go into PvP and expect to gain something for their characters instead of it being a purely masturbatory* experience (Though admittedly that does describe the game as a whole >_&gt

    * Don't flame me, I just mean that as a way to describe something you do for no other reason than the pure pleasure of it.**

** Yes I'm aware of the hiprocracy [SP? Hippocracy a government made of hippo's?]

I13 was a big step forward in the PvP game and greatly improved my PvP experience. Now it is possible for me to bring my fire brute to a zone and have a chance of winning against any archtype, just as any archtype now has a chance of winning against me. The challenge makes the game fun.

Elusivity is being toned down in I14 which will hopefully fix your personal force field issues. If not then I am sure reasonable and precise feedback on the issue will provoke the change you desire.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry you think that way Jake. But you're wrong. I13 didn't balance squat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Admittedly I was talking only about my own experiences, and not the game as a whole. Had I a dominator I'd be pissed too

From my experiences with a Fire/Fire Brute, a Nightwidow, a Sonic/sonic Corruptor and a Rad/Rad defender most gave as good as they got (okay with the exception of the Defender, but then, Teleport is not a good power for PvP).

Opposed to everyone else here, I like the direction they are going in (Everyone can play, no one is invincible) and I think they will continue to make improvements (Hooray Elusitivity fix, PvP IO's). Doms definately need some love, and I fought a Claws Scrapper that just made me feel sad that one time (Claws could use some serious love I think)

Now, feel free to post how wrong I am, it'll make you feel better
  11. [ QUOTE ]
lol. I'll get right on beating you with my Emp/Dark. I mean, now that his heals and buffs are pretty much useless, I should be able to kill something, right? Right...? Guys?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bet you can beat me, I suck.

Edit : Though I wonder, did this toon win PvP matches Solo in the old system either?
  12. On the plus side, PvP rewards that can only be attained by defeating other players. That is a big feature I've seen on every single wish list and it is almost here! Even if the big time farmers are going to be doing most of their work in the Arena, that means there will be some casual players in the zones looking to grab some loot.

  14. A very good guide there (though I'll admit I tl;dr once you got to the hero stats parts) Only one small little correction:

    [ QUOTE ]
...dropping any toggles they might be running

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the oppressive gloom section, the vast majority of enemy powers are actually click powers and not toggles. This came up with the toggle changes recently a player asked Castle if enemies would have toggles suppressed when mezzed, to which Castle answered that most enemies don't have toggles.

Otherwise hey, some great guides, despite the hate/hate relationship I have with Dark Melee and love/hate with Dark Armour.
  15. Merits were by far the best change, now I can run all TF's for gain as well as for fun.
  16. My all time favorite excuse for leaving a P.U.G, which I have heard from a surprising amount of people :

"Whoops gotta go the cat is vomiting again."

Because cats vomit when upset, happy, or breathing.

Edit : First after OP redname!

Also, I'd like to see some kind of "Master Plan" system, whereby random Paper Missions could be strung together for a larger reward. Say you start by stealing plans, then proceed to gather materials, and finally follow up with a "create device" mission where a random hero (or villain!) group tries to stop you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hey pretty clever idea there. I find the newspaper missions to be rather tedious and that would be a nice little addition. Makes you think about what mission you take next.
  18. Indeed, PvP is much more fun when the players are being good natured, polite and respectful to each other. A little bit of trashtalking is fun sometimes too, but it's a fine line between being funny and being a jerk somedays.
  19. My observations running around on my Fire/Fire Brute

    Objective Feedback
In the pre-I13 environment my brute was either perma-held or kite blasted to death in short order or increadibly long stalemate fights against other "tough" AT's. Post-I13 my brute has a very good chance to defeat most enemies and the lolfiteclub encounters have a definite resolution. Has a tough time against Defense based toons, but if I had build up it would probably not be quite the same problem.

My Sonic/Sonic corruptor is not quite the same experience, I think I am going to need to get Phase to make it an effective toon, but thats a problem with my build and not the system itself.

Importantly, if the PvP changes goal was to make more builds useful/viable it seems to have succeeded.
  20. I think reocurring characters are just great. I loved to meet up with Faultline and Fusionette again the rikti Warzone, if only you could tangle with them in some low level villian arcs.

Plus Ghost Sibyl is perhaps sexy personified.
  21. Time Traveler - Oroborous
Dimensional Traveler - Shadow Shard (I think I misspelled that one...)
Astronaut - Moon Base! (wait no that one doesn't exist yet...)
  22. Jeez that was allot of Doom.

Okay people think about this, Now when you spend 8 hours sleeping instead of playing CoX, you gain FREE rewards on your toons, just for subscribing really. How can this be a bad thing?

System looks great Dev's. Though I imagine the bonus for "patroling" does not double your influence at level 50....
  23. Hmmmm maybe one boxed expansion a year along with the issues? They could call it the Trade Paperback Edition Vol. 1......
  24. I AM BURSTING WITH ANTICIPATION AND MY CAPS LOCK KEY IS STICKY FROM SPILLING MY COKE!!!!111!!!!
