    The Canon of Canon?
  2. I think the answers to my post are telling and I don't think any of them answered the question.

Basically people are acknowledging that the Incarnate Trials as they stand are not good enough to get people to play them on their own merits. Therefore anything else HAS to offer less rewards otherwise they will not get run.

I don't think anything else needs to be said to be honest.

Except that maybe 24 man zerge-fests are possibly the worst place this game has to make friends. I am a very chatty player and I can guarantee that in a Reactor Trial I will find out interesting things about every team member. An Incarnate Trial? I don't think so!

I always take Sand and whatever Staff thing gets the origin bonus. However I don't min/max so I take the Axe on many characters because it fits their background better. I took the Axe on my favourite/main character purely because I enjoyed the Wheel of Destruction story arc and so having an extra souvenir was nice.

However with the Dark Astoria announcement I am glad I more of my characters have taken it.

I'm with you on this one, although I'd like to have the killing blow as well

Never understood why leeching in a 24 man team should earn you rewards faster than soloing, where can rely on no one and must accomplish everything yourself.

  7. I will be sad to see the fog gone. Even though it did annoy at times. The reason I found it annoying wasn't so much that you couldn't see but that the skyline didn't work. By which I mean you could see the very bright War Walls for some distance but then suddenly a tower block would appear in front of you. Even though you should have at least seen its silhouette against the glowing force walls.

If they are removing it I hope they have a decent in-game explanation.

I am more worried about that they are closing the Talos gate. If we are teleporting to the zone please please let it be via Portal Corp or some such mechanism rather than the awful LFG thingy. Please.

I am not sure I should admit this somewhere that the Paragon Marketeers might be reading but I would pay money for this.
  9. The Hat I like the least (none are bad) is the pork pie hat, so I am voting for C.

EDIT: Doh! Voted for the wrong hat. Well it wouldn't have changed the result

That's not what's happening here. Come back when you have read what has actually been written.

I am glad they are moving the DA story forward and also please that the zone will be used for Incarnate content. Hopefully there will be a decent game-lore explanation for why the fog and ghosts have gone.

With the fog gone I hope the zone gets an Atlas Park style revamp as well, because I have seen the zone without the fog and its not that great

I am expecting it to use a game mechanic that divorces the missions from the game world but I am hoping it won't. As convenient as they are I dislike these missions that just start "nowhere" as I find them immersion-breaking.
Given we have been told Praeroria will have very little if any influence in the Death Incarnate story arc I am very pleased.

I am also pleased they are extending the DA story, if a little disappointed the fog is going. Hopefully there will be an in-story reason given.

Why? As long as you can start with a team of 1 then its solo content. If that doesn't count as solo content then we haven't had any solo content in this game until very very recently.

My comment about DC was less to do with costumes and more to do with their general failure to produce a successful super hero film. The recent Batman films being the exception.

We can tell at a glance that it's Captain America, but he sure doesn't look like a traditional comic book character.
Not sure I entirely agree but I will bow to the designer's eye about hue and saturation. However I would say there is a big difference between how the characters appear in the film and how Marvel market them. The most obvious example being the Iron Man movie poster. This is far darker than practically anything we see in the film. The shots from his lab showing the Hot Rod Red at its best. Its almost as if they are trying to trick the audience into the theatre During the Thor movie Hemsworth spends most of his time in civvies. However we he's suddenly in costume after defeating the Destroyer, that costume is at its most bright and shiny. My point being that Capt, Iron Man and Thor all have costumes that are very close the comic books of today. Most of the time the cinematography presents them dark and battle damaged as befits the story but when appropriate they are clean and colourful. In that respect the films are no different from the comics.

I think the details of the costumes are a side issue. Especially for the Capt and Thor since their costumes have almost always implied more detail than drawn. Such as mail armour in the case of the Capt and armour pieces for Thor.

That was a test, and it failed; Hollywood learned that a financially successful superhero movie must embrace visual realism (grit optional) and, like most action movies, maintain a certain gravitas. That's the fine line, and anything past it appears to turn off the mainstream film audience. Again, I love the comic book aesthetic, but I don't think it would be profitable in a mainstream movie context.
Joel Schumacher clearly doesn't understand what makes a comic book a comic book. The reason his movies failed was not the costumes although everyone makes rubber nipple jokes. They failed because they were awful movies. I can agree with you that that is the lesson Hollywood has learnt from them, but it is the wrong one. Tim Burton has a lot to answer for!

ps: Thanks for taking the time to answer my post.

There is that line from Tony in the trailer that goes, "If we can't defend the Earth the least we can do is Avenge it." Which does hint at extra-terrestrial danger but doesn't rule out Ice Giants

I wouldn't mind if Skrulls are involved but then I hope Loki is just manipulating things in the background and is saved for the next Thor movie.

Well actually, in the middle of the arc.

It also includes the phase tech, that changes a zone's appearance based upon our actions.
  24. Scarlett Johansson: Why am I facing this way when everyone else is facing the other way?

PR Guy: Oh its for artistic balance. It would look odd everyone doing the same thing.

Scarlett Johansson: Its to show my butt isn't it?

PR Guy: No no artistic balance.

    Scarlett Johansson: *look*

PR Guy: Okay, yes its to show your butt.
  25. I came back after Going Rogue and the Incarnate stuff had been introduced. I had been gone for almost two years I think. I was tempted back by the decision technology they have introduced to the game, which I still enjoy and hope they expand to all sectors of the game.

The Market has also changed since I've been gone. I am not a fan of the market but the various changes and new currencies mean I can get the things I want for my characters without having to "play the market". This is great as I consider the Market to be Anti-Fun.

The other big change is that most of my RL friends are back as well. Not sure how that happened exactly but it means I have a regular online-gaming night again
