I thought the *exact* same thing. Perhaps he hasn't hit his mid-20's yet? In fact I think the CoT things are actually *called* "Demons". And the Banished Pantheon aren't actors in suits, man... they're dead things Not to scare your wife off, just letting ya know.

You know I never could figure out why people got in such a nit over demons in games, it's not like you're going in to be their best buds

Nahh, the idea is that it's shown to exist and how it could. It fantasizes something which either refutes the beliefs of said religion, or brings them to life. I won't pretend to know enough about religions to say that, but that's what it does.

I don't see the problem with it though. It's a fantasized world obviously different to our own. So demons and undead exist in the fantasized world, along with all other things which can't exist in ours. Just takes a bit of imagination.

    holy grave dig, batman

Meep! Nostalgia! I got so excited about the Rularuu Invasion...
  3. There are people who managed to access the Statesman model in demoediting.

Praetorian AVs are similar to our NPCs, but generally look slightly different. Infernal, Malaise, and Valkyrie (Battle Maiden) don't follow this. Possibly Numina (Diabolique) too, though I'm not sure. It'd be difficult to use AV screenies as heroes (if that's what you're doing). However, if you just want screenies of the Praetorian AVs themselves, that's not too hard.

Faathim the Kind, along with Lanaruu and Ruladak are (I think) split off from Rularuu. They are like brothers except that they were created solely for the purpose of maintaining the Shadow Shard.
  4. Cheers Posi, it's been a mixed up year for me, but this game's been a good thing in it.

Thanks to the devs for it all, and thanks to the community for being so good.

Of the active heroes that were in service at the time, the Surviving Eight were the only real, true heroes who survived.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess the lazy/cowardly [censored] who sat out the war don't count.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Alright, scratch that. Out of the Freedom Phalanx then, that makes the most sense. Heroes from all over the world were involved in fighting the Rikti, some of them survived, some of them didn't. The Freedom Phalanx was the largest hero organization, and based in Paragon City. Paragon City was the focus of the war.

The Surviving Eight were the ones who survived out of that, in some form or another.
  6. Of the active heroes that were in service at the time, the Surviving Eight were the only real, true heroes who survived.

What makes you think that a lot more survived though? (Not meaning offense, just wondering where you're getting this from.)

It's great to see what all the characters' real powers are. Synapse a speedster? Manticore a bow user (can't wait for I5)?

I hope we get to see a ton of the others, so we'll know just what they can do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In the 40s you face the Praetorians, who are opposites of our favorite heroes. They generally have at least similar powers to the ones of our dimension. There are differences at times, like with Swan and Manticore (Praetorian is a ninja, ours is... something else I can't remember) but for the most part they have the same stuff.
  8. I think the Kronos Titan's big enough to count. ^^

    The Kudos Thread

Woo, I missed this thread. I'd like to thank the wonderful community for being just plain cool. It's the best gaming community I've had the pleasure of being a part of. And therefore, we can thank the devs for making this game for us all to be a part of.
  10. I remember my first hero on release day, a MA/SR scrapper, and the first time I used the ol' Storm Kick on a contaminated punk. Someone said "Nice kicks!" and I said "I think so too!"

I remember my first time in Perez Park, when huge groups of 6-10 heroes would be sitting outside the Atlas Park entrance all shouting "LFG!"

I remember when almost all 1-20 mission tilesets were offices, broken offices, and warehouses. Someone ingame sent me a link to an archive of screenshots he'd uploaded and was gushing about the first time he saw the lab tileset during the Positron TF. Later that night I went to the link and stared in awe at how cool it looked.
  11. You know, 32+ people figure they have more influence than they know what to do with. I spent MILLIONS in Icon, 'tweaking'. I actually went broke once, which was humiliatingly fun lol. Good thing my main is 50 and influence isn't really a problem anymore .

*sigh*... how to handle all this...?

I'm still wondering if Icon will let us body-slide as part of the costuming process.
  12. Only makes sense if they do.

If you see a group of grey cons 4 levels below you, they'll all con grey. The minions will have no arrow things, but the lieut amongst them will. A boss would con green, with two arrow things.

I would LOVE to do Pulp stuff...but would it sell? That's the issue.

Doc Savage. The Shadow. Agent 13. *shudders* Such great potential from the Pulp world.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pulp would be sweet, either through a trip to the 1920's or maybe some pulp inspired zones: a China Town filled with Tsoo, or a Flying Fortress manned by Sky Raiders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

... Best idea I've read all thread. Oh yes. Definitely. Striga is wonderful with a secret volcano hideout for the Council, but now everyone needs one. Think of is as a precursor/test to SG base raids in CoV.

I love the winter event. It may not be quite what people hoped, and I'll admit I was hoping for snow too, but I love it anyway. Snowball fights are great . Thank you Devs, for so much content within just the last week. I've been neglectful of my responsibilities, and YOU are to blame, but I can't blame you much, because it's so.. so.. good.

Nahh, Pilcrow isn't. There was a fellow who, at 5 pages, was satisfied to pop it along to Warcry. It wasn't the point though, that's the issue at hand. THe point isnt' to prove Warcry wrong... well it is, partly. But partly again is to show the Devs our appreciation, because Warcry did raise a valid point.

    Thank you for shameless bumps!

And no loot! For the community is better that way!

Super Speeders run on water!!! and being able to respec your secondry power set, after choosing /fire for a blaster and not knowing untill high lvl how much it sux, we should be able to respec it to another with a trial.

    [/ QUOTE ]

mmm.... no. That wouldn't work at all. Sorry. Firstly, people wouldn't be satisfied if you said "Secondary, but not primary" because sometimes the secondary is essential. Read: Tanker. If you let people change powers... well you're inviting say, an FOTM to magically change to a gimped one, and have high level character run around not necessarily knowing what they're doing.

I do like the idea of superspeeders running on water though ^^

Yes! Zone music's alright, but it'd be nice to have music more often!

I'd just love to see my heroes feet move when I tured around rather than this Slid In Place version we have now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, it does look funky. All they need do is make the torso and hip move a little before then have the feet follow. Simple animation goes a long way for immersion.

It would also be cool if clicked on a target (friendly or enemy), if your head moved to show you were looking at it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I liked that when I played Saga of Ryzom. Definitely added to it. Also, emotes use names when you target someone, so say, a wink would leave the caption "I wink at you". Names substituted of course. If no one's targeted, it's just "I wink". Nice bit of RP meat to throw around.
  20. Lets see...

Power customization. I probably won't play a blaster extensively until that's available to me. I love the uniqueness people have with their costumes, it's time to make our powers unique too . I understand it'll take a while though, but do get it right! Custom weapons would be a nice filler while we're at it.

More costume options... fix the cape/hair thing. Can't make a caped heroine with long hair without it looking wrong.

Proper instanced missions? Like the small kind you get randomly on the street that people have been suggesting for ages. Just a wish :P.

As a first time MMO player, thank you for getting me into the genre which otherwise I wouldn't have.

As a longtime gamer, comic collector and general superhero fan, really, love the game. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Also, I'm not on the forums as much as some people (except for the next few days :P. No offense though, I love you guys!) but I definitely appreciate the feedback and honesty, even if it's cryptic, you give us.

And hoorah to smooth launches! Smooth release, smooth updates. I just tried out Saga of Ryzom, which really isn't a bad game, and during my 14 day trial a patch went live. They had to delay it a day because of many many bugs, which were still occurring after they let it live again. So thank you for doing a great job and for really doing a good job when you say you will.

And thanks for letting me live childhood dreams. No no, not playing as a girl, but being a superhero .
  24. Only broad release time I ever heard was... Spring 2005. So I figured April/May, like when CoH originally released. Sounds fine to me. If it's september... then fine. It's september. Best get it right, right?
  25. So uhh.. it's today right? I'm checking rather frantically, but I'm beginning to think that maybe the interviewer was even more intellectually challenged than I'd thought?
